Deke and Gus have not only been our mechanics for several years now but have become good, trusted, family friends. Deke goes out of his way to accommodate customer's needs and with 4 cars in the family, they always make us feel like a priority. He has often offered to drive us home and will scold me if I call an Uber to get back to work (haha) He makes sure out young adult sons have safe cars and prioritizes their safety - which is invaluable. I got a flat tire while at the Doctors office with my toddler. My husband was unable to get the tire off so we had to keep stopping at gas stations along the way home to keep filling it back up. Of course we got stopped at a train crossing, but thankfully Golco Automotive just happened to be right there. I called them to ask if they could at least get the tire off for me so my husband could put the donut on. They at first apologized and said they were getting ready to close up for the night (I mean it was after 5pm!) but could do it tomorrow. When I told them I was literally right outside they said "oh not a problem come on in." So I brought it over only expecting them to take the bolts off nothing else, but instead they cleaned up the tire area as it had a lot of rust on it and replaced the tire with my donut. They wouldn't even take any money from us despite being a lifesaver because there is no way I would have made it home! The owner himself did this for me and was super friendly. Love Deke, Theresa and Gus! I have never worked with such an honest and hard working mechanic. Deke one time checked my brakes & rotors that another garage said were fine. He told me that they needed replacing. Then Deke took me into the garage showing me my brakes & rotors versus new brakes and rotors. Never has a mechanic done that for me before! Most mechanics see a woman and automatically take advantage. I can step into his shop and be confidant he is treating me fairly. Never before have I had a shop owner actually yell at me and follow me out of the shop yelling at me. If a customer is struggling with the price of repairs yelling at them is definitely not the answer. Since I was told I would already be charged a diagnostic fee and the car was deemably undriveble I felt I had no other choice. Then on pick up I was told of three other problems that I could not afford. I I am Not recomending them due to feeling pressured and harassed and not liking owners attitude toward me in the slightest. I agreed to your price not your bad attitude, lack of communication and that you acted like my emergency situation was a major inconvenience to you. read more
