This place is the best. I'm not a total idiot about cars but I damn sure can't fix a heater issue or do brake jobs so a reliable mechanic is needed. I had been looking for a place for awhile just to get an inspection and every place was booked out weeks other than the chain places that overcharge everything and frankly just suck at service and fail you on nonsense for inspections. Anyway, they got me in literally next day and did the inspection for $20. Brought my wife's car in for a heater issue and same thing in the next day done at a fair price and even replaced the filter which was apparently full of nuts and bolts! Just overall nice guys to do business with that don't rip you off and tell you like it is. Appreciated greatly. Feel like the owner can probably make the hell out of a meatball sub too, great vibes. read more

The man at the front was very rude to us. I am normally a regular customer there, and was bringing in a friend because I had such high respect for this place. The man at the front only decided to be rude and snarky and put his finger in our face, but I will no longer be attending this place and finding a new mechanic as it was terrible customer service. read more

The service here is TERRIBLE. I will not recommend this shop or send anyone I care about to this shop. They are condescending, they talk down to women, and they don't honor their warranties. Fuck these guys. I'm used to getting my car inspected and having to possibly buy new wiper blades or a set of tires and maybe one other thing. That is the fair medium I am used to. I took my car here to try to get an inspection once. I don't look rich or easy to take advantage of, and these piles of human excrement gave me a list of $1400 worth of repairs I needed, many of which aren't even required for inspection. This guy smugly and arrogantly said, "I don't know what to tell you, to be honest, almost everyone passes on the first try!". What a dick. And you're supposed to take that list to the next business if you get it inspected somewhere else so they can see why it failed. read more

My car was in an accident and so it had some very real problems when I went to Hollywood Service Center for an inspection which I didn't even dream of easily passing. It turned out that the only problem preventing a clean highway inspection was the wheel well liner rubbing on the back tire. I asked them to just cut that off, but they did much better. For only an hour of labor they fixed all of the major metal damage to the car. They fixed around the headlight assembly, they fixed my drivers side door so it opens, and they fixed the metal around my wheel well, which put the plastic liner back into position so it didn't need to be removed. It doesn't feel like my car might fall apart going over bumps anymore either, so I suspect they did something to the suspension as well. Sure it doesn't look like new, but I can't afford new(i previously got an estimate of $8000 for like new at another garage... my car is worth about $3500). I love how they went above and beyond what was expected of them at an extremely low cost. I will never take my car to any other garage as long as I'm in Rochester, NY. read more

Hollywood garage has been a source of continuous aggravation, inconvenience and regret. I will never do business with them, and do not recommend their services to anyone. I went there originally because I needed new tires, and I had a coupon. The week of my appointment my check engine light came on so I asked them to check that out. The catalytic converter needed replacement, and they offered to do so. Despite them using an aftermarket part it was quite expensive. And they never told me they were using an aftermarket part. about 6 months later my. The check engine light has been on several times now due to a bad catalytic converter, and when I approached them with my warranty (which unfortunately had expired) they were rude, dismissive, unprofessional and refused to even look at my car. I have now had 3 different mechanics tell me that my catalytic converter is not quite the right size for my car. It will not pass another inspection without a new converter to get the light and emissions to standards, converters cost between 1500 and 2000$'s to install. Oh and by the way, the tires they sold me were lumpy, my car sharked at 50mph. They refused to replace or look at this as well. Never give them business. read more
