Was on the hunt for boba and did have a craving for Chinese, which is next door to the boba place... boba place was closed for the day :[... anywho!? I ordered a lot: Sweet and sour pork with pork fried rice: bite size servings and the pork fried rice wasn't dry. There was a good amount of flavor and wasn't overly seasoned, which is what I prefer. Egg Drop Soup: light, fragrant, and with a hint of ginger. It was really good, for how cold it was out. Scallion Pancakes: were a little burned/overcooked and a bit oily. Not sure if this is how it's normally, but it was still tasty with the sauce. It wasn't totally a ruin. Finally, the reason why I hunt for Chinese, FRIED CRAB RANGOON!!! Packed with flavor and wasn't just cream cheese. Thank goodness. This is my new joint/jam.

Chicken Lo Mein. They charged $7.00 for this BEFORE I saw the size. That's ridiculous.

Just order from there for the first time. Purchased Chicken Lo Mein. They charged $7.00 BEFORE I saw the size. Will not be returning.

I found this place by accident but I love the Asian style ginger infused fried chicken wings! I stop here every time I am in the vicinity and order the moderately priced food! I have yet to explore the rest of the menu but I look forward to it!

Gold Garden is a middle of the road Chinese/American shop in the Homestead Plaza II, in Columbus, NJ. It has 5 tables for those choosing to eat in. The front of the house is a large counter where the wife of this H & W team holds court with efficiency and a smile. The menu is what you would expect. My Sesame Chicken was served on a plate (rather than in Styrofoam), with Fried/White/Brown rice options, as well as soup or soda. At $5.65 it was one of the better prices I have seen for this luncheon combo. Taste-wise, it was okay, with a nice pile of chicken breaded, fried, and smothered in semi-sweet goo. You know ... the way you have seen it a million times. Plenty of rice made earlier in the day. The plaza where it is located also has ice cream and cupcake stores right next door, for those seeking things from all the nutritious food groups. Luckily, the cupcake shop is closed Monday and Tuesday. Temptation is everywhere.

Can't beat great takeout! We ordered our staples, veg lo mein, chix and broccoli, eggrolls and bbq spare ribs. All excellent and tasty! My new go to for take out! The restaurrant has a smattering of 10 tables, it is bright and the service is quick and friendly.

    Steamed dumplings, half portion.

The food offers great value for the price, especially because the portions are very generous. Sometimes ordering just three dishes is enough to last for two days. It's truly worth it. On top of that, the service is exceptionally good -- everyone is friendly and welcoming with genuine smiles. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially from the perspective of someone who has eaten Chinese food all their life. They are very flexible at the customers can your choice . The sauce had just enough numbing warmth without overpowering the dish, and every bite was incredibly satisfying. The texture combination of silky wrappers and bold sauce made it an unforgettable starter. Beyond the appetizer, the restaurant offered a warm atmosphere and attentive service that made the dining experience even better. The presentation was thoughtful, portions were generous, and the flavors tasted authentic and carefully prepared. If you enjoy dishes with a little spice and a lot of flavor, the wontons in chili oil are absolutely worth ordering. I would definitely come back just for them.

Sitting right next door to Pho Palace on Bustleton Avenue in the far Northeast in Philadelphia,…read moreYaudim Dim Sum & Noodle is a small modern semi fast food Chinese kitchen that models itself as a quick dim sum (small bowl) house where you order at the cashier from the large laminated menu on the counter the most popular traditional plates, and then sit at a table until the order taker/chef/server brings your food to you on plastic trays. All that would be fine if you don't miss the old ladies with their pushcarts hawking their goodies at your table. I sort of did miss them as they are what I remember most fondly about those enormous meals around a large round table with family and friends that I enjoyed growing up. But, this is certainly not that, and therein lies the difference of having a totally enjoyable experience vs a fast food version without any cultural entertainment value. Without that, the food was just not as tasty and fun. The Xiao Long Bao skin was too thick and chewy, although the pork infused hot soup within was decent. Similarly, the sui mai and shrimp dumplings had better texture outside, but tiny shrimp within. The glutinous rice rolls had a pleasant light soy sauce and right textured wrap, but small shrimp in both size and number. The best we had was the potato croquette (crunchy outside, hot and grated tato within). The room was all blond wood and large traditional Chinese kitchen mural on the wall. Service was efficient. Prices were about right given the recent restaurant inflation. For my three stars I would rather return to the enrapture of the old ladies and their carts.
