In Wyoming, Michigan for a dance competition for my daughter. I stop in and request 3 large orders of food to go and although they only had one customer they made the food quickly for me and was reasonably priced. I was in and out within 12 minutes with steaming hot fresh food. It would have been 10 minutes, but it took her 2 minutes to find where the plastic forks were. I was eating at my hotel and would either neither forks or chop sticks. I would have given them a 5 star, but the menu online had cheaper prices then the menu inside the store which I thought was unacceptable. Only by $1 per meal, but still enough for me to notice. Also, they had different egg rolls advertised online then they had in the restaurant, and she looked confused when I asked for the ones that were in their online menu. read more

Rude! I am in California. We know good Pho here. Had a friend from MI come to visit and introduced her to Com Thit Nuong. She fell in love. Was trying to find her a place to enjoy her new found food and called Golden 28 for her. Been going to this place since 2007 and when they renovated the place it is so much cleaner! I love their pho but also their orange chicken, General tso chicken, and their Mongolian beef! The chicken have a lot of meat on them (not being all fried in some other places) and the owners are very nice! The only thing is...when they have a lot of people dinning in at the same time, the food can take a very long time to come out because it seems like the owners (two married couple) cook everything for the whole restaurant! read more

Their pho is quite tasty. I go there about once per week and always order pho dac biet. The mussels & Vietnamese egg rolls are quite tasty. Their spring rolls & nuoc mam are quite disappointing though. Stick with the pho & you'll be happy. Don't expect great service though. The servers are young & very ditsy. The service and kitchen are very slow. It took 55mins to get my food after walking in the door. There was no wait and only 2 other tables. I ordered to go once and it took even longer. But the food is very reasonably priced and pretty good. Very good pho. read more

Me and my girlfriend wanted Chinese and i have tried some of the places around me on 28th and none of them were any good. I saw the high star ratings on yelp for this one so i figured i'd give it a shot. BIG MISTAKE! This was by far the worst Chinese me or my girlfriend have had. She got the orange chicken with fried rice and i got the general Tao's chicken with fried rice. The chicken was practically inedible. It was so chewy i felt like i was eating day old steak. Every time i swallowed I felt like i was taking a horse pill. The fried rice was not fried rice. It was white rice with some soy sauce poured over it and barely cooked. We also got crab Rangoon's that were very hard and again almost inedible. Also noted that all of the sauces honestly tasted like water, they had no flavor at all. We visited today Sat, 7/11 around 3:30 pm and we were the only people there. The lunch crowd had left. Two girls served us, very polite and helpful. I have been reading that service here is slow which we wouldn't know because we were the only people there at the time and we got our food within minutes. Wife had ordered crab rangoon, two skewers of satay and Jjamppong (Korean seafood soup). I had ordered a Pho which had everything in it. All our food was super delicious. The soup bowls were huge. My wife has been to south east Asia and she has had the same food there, so she knows how it should taste. And I have had Pho in different Asian restaurants in the Bay Area so I also know what to expect in my Pho. After we were done, the owner also came and asked how the food was. She was nice and sweet. The check came to $30 which was reasonable considering that potions were quite good. We would definitely go back there. The place was also clean and well done up. read more

This place has the best pho period. The service can get very slow depending on how busy the place is but it is well worth it. I always get the number 7 with extra onions and I have been there enough that they know my order before I place it. read more

we entered the restaurant I took a quick whiff of the air inside and it smelled better so I said ok this restaurant is improving we ordered our food the service is really good we got our food it was amazing everything was really good until I look to the corner of my booth at the empty space and I see ANTS atleast 5 there!!!! And for a sec I thought this restaurant still needs more cleaning. would not recommend to eat here if you hate a uncleansed restaurant. read more

I visited Golden 28 for lunch hoping to find a restaurant a little closer to work that could satisfy my craving for pho. I believe the soup was a good representation of the dish the broth had good color and was quite flavorful. The meat of your choice in the dish seemed a little light compared to other places I have eaten. I had to ask for a couple accoutrements such a the long leafy green I believe to be called Kulontro and the red chili paste that is generally served with this dish. I had a Vietnamese iced coffee which in my opinion was as good as anywhere I have had it. The staff was friendly enough but botched a question for one of my fellow patrons. He asked what the seafood that looked like a thinly sliced scallop with hot pink edges was she replied Lobster. I recognized the product but couldn't recall what it was just knew it wasn't lobster. I happened to be in one of the Asian markets along division and found it to be a type of commercially produced fish cake. For that reason and the fact that there was a dirty table in the dining room upon our arrival and no one in the restaurant earns you two stars. In my opinion if someone has eaten, paid and left you should clean the table. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! Ordered takeout, got it home and it was horrible. We ordered General Tso's Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Orange Chicken, Vietnamese Spring rolls, Pot stickers and Beef Brisket Pho. The main entrees all tasted burned and the meat used was very suspicious looking. The spring rolls looked like they were fried in used motor oil and didn't taste much better. The vegetables, meat and noodles for the Pho were not fresh, the vegetables and meat were slimy and very fragrant, in a bad way. Returned 14 minutes after to ask for a refund with all the food and was told I could have $20 of my $43 bill back. I was then approached by a upset gentleman from the kitchen and was told that since I was american I should go buy american food since I didn't know what I was talking about. He then told me he called the owner and that's all the owner would allow him to refund. He then proceeded to call the police to tell them that there was an american in his restaurant that didn't like his food. The police came of course and told me I was out of luck so I had no choice but to take the $20. Without a doubt worst customer service, food and experience in 32 years of dining out in Grand Rapids. I have a 4 year Culinary Arts Degree and I do know that I will never eat there again, and I will do my best to make sure nobody else I know does either.
