I was looking for Chinese food close to my girlfriend's house and this place will probably be our new go-to when we are in the mood for Chinese. We placed a to-go order and the wait wasn't too long. The food was good and hit the spot. The restaurant was nicely decorated, the staff was okay, but I saw one thing that I didn't like. The soy sauce and Sriracha were not kept wiped clean. There was sauce residue on all the bottles, not just on one table but ALL the tables. I was a little confused because the tables, chairs, and floors were clean but not the sauce bottles. Why not get a clean napkin and just wipe them off? When I see things like that it makes me wonder how clean the back is. I'm hoping next time we go in this will not be an issue. read more

This place is very good. Always seated quickly and the wait staff is attentive but not overwhelming. I absolutely love the sesame chicken is delicious. It always has wonderful flavor and plenty of food. Only thing I could say negatively would be that I wish they gave more rice. That's my opinion. Been here twice now and both times were absolutely excellent. Casual is the climate, and they have a nice bar area and ample seating for groups and families. Lots of different sushi variations to try, and so far my wife and I have enjoyed them all. I'm not a big fan of vegi-sushi, but even those are good too. They make them as you order them, so there is a bit of lag time between what gets served at the table. The Shaggy Dog is my favorite. Main Moon has much better hot and sour soup, but Golden Bowl's isn't bad. Had to add a bit of soy sauce and salt and pepper to get it up to par. They also have french fries for the kids since sushi seems to freak them out a bit. Wish they'd turn off the TVs. The first time in we asked them to change it because the closest one was playing some series about brutal murders, and the second time we went the same TV was playing kids cartoons? Shut em' down. People don't go out to dinner to watch TV unless it's a sports bar. All in all a great place and will definitely be going back often. read more

This is a lovely Asian cuisine establishment. I've been wanting to try it for a while and we finally made it over tonight. We had miso and hot and sour soups. We agreed the hot and sour was better. We shared a spicy lover roll that was very good. I'm so happy we have good sushi in Spring now! For entrees we had sesame chicken, pineapple gai pan, and a bento box that included sesame chicken, a spicy tuna roll, an egg roll, and rice. Everything was very good and the presentation was beautiful. My plate was decorated with a fresh flower. I will probably get a bento box next time. The atmosphere inside is relaxing and sophisticated. Inside, it seems like it should be on the Waterway or at Market Street, instead of in a strip center behind the Exxon. My boyfriend and I ate here one day about 4 or 5 months ago just on a whim and we've been regulars ever since. We come here every week if not every two weeks. Everything we've tried (shrimp fried rice, general Taos, chicken crunch roll, crab puffs, bento boxes, potstickers, egg drop, and wonton soup) have all been so good. We've never left feeling like we weren't satisfied. The servers are sweet and some of them already know what we are going to get. Another reason we come back so often is because of how reasonably priced it is. You know that god awful feeling you get when you know your bank account is about to have a significant drop in it once you pay the bill? I don't feel it here. I went to the Golden Bowl for the first time, I love the interior but the one thing that I did not enjoy was the fact that the chefs and the staff were literally YELLING and SCREAMING at each other in the kitchen the entire time, they were yelling at each other and it was really awkward eating with all the raucous going on. The sushi was good, my mom ordered a chicken dish and she thought it tasted awful. I like that we got free soup :) but other than that it was our first and last time going there. read more

Golden Bowl is a welcome addition to our neighborhood, a step above others nearby and just a tad pricier. We've dined in and ordered take out on numerous occasions. Tasty food with friendly service in the dining room though take out staff seriously needs to work on their people skills. Moo shu pork delicious but served with tortillas instead of traditional pancakes. I'm giving this place a 5 star review because I have nothing to complain about. My fiancé and I wanted Asian cuisine and I suggested we try this spot out. They have a lot of menus items ranging from sushi, to curry, to Thai pad and more. Right now soups are free. He got the won ton and I got the hot and sour. We both agreed they were good. He ordered the orange peel chicken with fried rice and I had the green spicy chicken curry with white rice. I thought the curry had a good flavor to it and it was mildly spicy. Which is what the menu said. So don't expect a lot of heat. I tired my fiancés dish and it was delicious! The fried rice was good to. I find that fried rice is lacking in most places I try lately. I was stuffed but kept wanting to eat!! I will definitely be ordering these items again, since I plan on coming back. But first..... I must tackle the rest of this menu!! Sushi anyone??? read more

We went in on Tuesday night and there was a good crowd, but we had excellent, attentive service. Their hot and sour soup is the best in the area. We split a roll with tuna, salmon, whitefish and avocado. Everything was fresh and delicious. We also split a plate of Thai-style curry, which had fresh vegetables and good quality chicken. The sauce was well-balanced and flavorful, but not as spicy as we usually get at Thai restaurants. We got a free order of crab rangoon because the kitchen was a little behind--they make their own filling with cream cheese, krab, and loads of fresh garlic. It was the best I've ever had. So we went to this place before the storm earlier today... starving haven't been there in a while usually they do a pretty decent job. Didn't get the waitress's name that was taking care of us today but she was HORRIBLE. Had a bad attitude... didn't really speak... wasn't welcoming... rushed us to order... just Grade F horrible service the only reason we didn't leave is because the kids were starving...idk what's really going on but you guys have to do better if I didn't have my kids with me that waitress probably would have gotten cussed out. I did not tip but I however did tip in advice...I said "no tip... and she could use some training." Which sucks because I love to tip hard working and PROFESSIONAL workers in the hospitality industry because they have some of the most difficult jobs. I probably won't be back to this establishment because that waitress sucked that bad. I don't know if it was foul play with the food or just bad hygiene or something in the kitchen area or what but the food did not settle with us well either. Just overall disappointed.
