Food was delicious! I love Korean food and drove over an hour to try the Golden Chopsticks. It did not disappoint. The price was on point and the service was great. We went during lunch and ate off the lunch menu, which had quite a few options to choose from and was served with yaki mandu, japchae, and rice. I recommend the Daeji Bulgolgi and the Gimbap. The kimchi was just the right heat (not too spicy). I will definitely make it a regular stop when I go to Columbus to visit my sister. And, I left there with a sweet shirt. read more

Our quest for Korean food in Columbus led us here the first weekend we moved to Georgia. Coming from Boston, we had some pretty high standards and weren't expecting to find Korean food at all in the area. The location is in a pretty shady area, to be entirely honest, but the restaurant itself is well-groomed and clean, albeit a little dated in terms of furniture. They have an extensive menu which was great to see and all the food was very reasonable priced! We decided to go with a glass noodle stew and beef bulgogi. Both dishes were pretty good. Tasty, full of flavor, and generous in serving size. Yet where it falls is that the beef was extremely greasy and the soup broth was even oily as well, leaving a kind of heavy feeling with us after the meal. I'm not used to Korean food being as greasy as what we were served, but it only Detracted slightly from the taste. The banchan was underwhelming. The broccoli was almost raw and the kimchi was fresh, but not pickled Lon enough to achieve the classic taste. Most of them just needed more care to create the flavor that banchan usually has to enhance the main meal. For a quick Korean fix, this may do the job, but we still need to try the other Korean places in the area. read more

Found this place through Yelp and I'm glad I went. I was in Columbus for work and like to try out to local spots. Julie C.'s review is on point. It's in a sketchy strip mall and definitely doesn't have anything going on as far as decor and ambiance. But the food is oh so good. I'm Korean and the food I ordered reminded me of my mom's cooking. I used to live in the DC area and the Korean food there is awesome. Golden Chopsticks is pretty close even though it's located in Columbus, GA of all places. The ban chan is good and there's a decent variety, definitely more than I expected. This place was so good I went 3 times while I was in town. The prices were awesome and averaged about $10. One of the employees mentioned that all their advertisement is based on word of mouth - they've been in business since the 70's and so I think that says something. If you like Korean food, definitely go. If you've never had it, try it because you'll be pleasantly surprised. I have a friend that's from Columbus who gave this place rave reviews....and after a delicious meal here, I must agree. Yes. The location is crappy, and yes, the atmosphere is nothing to write home about, but I thought the portions were awesome, the banchan was tasty and the service was great. Especially from the cutie who was working up front. I had something that I can't remember the Korean name, but it was basically a soup with dumplings and the most delicious rice cake ever ever ever. I want to eat here every day after clinical. Talk about hearty homestyle Korean...yum! I thought the menu was pretty comprehensive, they have the prerequisite kalbi, bulgogi and bibimbap...plus tons of other soups and stews that I am dying to try. Granite it's much pricier here than there, I feel like I should have gotten a little more food for what I paid. In the end it was delicious and I left satisfied. Best Korean food I've had in Columbus, hands-down. I got the soft tofu stew (sundubu) lunch special. Their lunch specials range between $8-13 and include a LOT of food so good value in my opinion. My dining companion got the bulgogi lunch special which was delicious too. We are visiting from out of town. Never had Koren food before and overall everything was delicious. We did the family style for 5 and we had 7 people total. Plenty of food! Everything had great flavor. My 1 year old loved the clear noodles (forgot the actual name) and I loved the sweet and sour pork. The only thing I did not care for was the plum wine. Golden Chopsticks is one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the area. I would even say it is the very best in Columbus. It tastes fairly authentic, and always tastes delicious. The servers are always nice, and we are served quickly. Plus, the prices are not outrageous considering the amount of food you receive. It is a quiet atmosphere, with a television playing Korean TV, and is perfect for lunch. We usually get the (beef) bugolgi and a side of kimbap which I HIGHLY recommend. The only downside is the location. It is a sketchy neighborhood, but that doesn't bother me much because usually the best and most authentic foods from other countries aren't in the ritzy neighborhoods (I don't have scientific facts of this, but it's totally true). It is a bit hard to find if you aren't familiar with the location, but it only took a drive pass and a U-Turn to find it the first time. It is jn a shopping center behind a couple buildings and there's not a huge sign. I have many times gone completely across town to go to this spot, but if I am in the neighborhood, I always stop in. Since I have NEVER had any problems with the location as far as burglaries, etc. I won't knock any points off. The food makes up for it. read more

This is a substandard to standard Korean restaurant. I ordered the black bean noodles (jjahjangmyun) and they were okay. Not the best but not the worst. I probably wouldn't order it again due to the price ($8.99). My wife ordered the kimchi soft tofu stew (kimchi soondooboo jigae) and they brought her the stew with mushed up firm tofu (as if she wouldn't recognize it). The meats are not fresh, at least the chicken has not been for both visits that I have made here within two months. I wasn't going to go back but I always give second chances, not doing it again. There are plenty of side dishes to go around, the salad provided was tasteful. Not the best lettuce for your wraps. The rice is ok but not very sticky. Overall I'm just disappointed because I had high hopes of finding a great Korean restaurant local so I don't have to travel to Atlanta each time.
