The food was barely edible; the salad was old, the chicken was either too salty or plain depending if it were the chicken strips or the fried chicken. The high chairs were so disgusting! We asked for a wet wipe and they gave us a ball of small wet (3-4)napkins. Not to mention when we went to get utensils they were all so dirty you could see food and old napkin stuck to the forks. Oh, and the water had a horrible taste. Has been a while since I have been to the Golden Corral. The location is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. The food was fresh, and the bars were clean. There were plenty of dining areas, and the staff was attentive to our needs. Traditional buffet food options are available. We went two days ago for dinner. It was a horrible experience. A lot of the food was cold & not kept hot. The only thing worth eating there was some fresh fried chicken and steamed broccoli. We tried many of the dishes, most tasted processed, bland, watery, and gross. As for the atmosphere, the employees allowed the high-pitched sounds for the ovens or fryers to stay on for 1-2 minutes before turning them off, hurting everyone's ears. The service was ridiculous. It took 10 minutes once seated to get a server to bring us a drink. Yes, pretty much everything was terrible. We won't be back. This chain has gone downhill, and it's not coming back. read more

Well, we've been wondering. We have passed this Golden Corral for a few years and finally decided to stop. I do like Buffets, but do not really eat enough to really get my money's worth out of some of them. Still, I do like variety and Golden Corral does well with that. And to be fair, their prices are reasonable enough even for those that don't eat a lot. There is also special pricing for children and seniors (over 60). Upon arrival, it was much like a cafeteria. Line up, pay and grab a plate. The ambiance is okay, but mostly the dining area is designed to get as many tables in as possible. The place was full, with many large groups and families. Our server was there and was attentive throughout the visit and they seemed diligent with keeping the dining area clean. I started with the salad bar. They had everything I like. Two different kinds of lettuce, bacon bits, eggs, cucumbers, beets, cheese, on and on! I also really liked the homemade Thousand Island dressing. I place their salad above many! Throw in some cantaloupe, peaches, coleslaw, seafood salad and yum. I couldn't ask for more. I would have been satisfied with just the salad bar! I then went on to try everything else. The meatloaf (okay), spicy BBQ Chicken (really good), steak (pretty good), catfish (really good), beans (good), fried okra (very good) and mashed potatoes and gravy (really good). See, I told you. Lots to choose from! Well, I left full. Too full! I shouldn't eat like that at noon, but everything was really satisfying. I can't eat like this all of the time, but do love buffets! My wife and I just went to this location for her birthday and I must say this has to be the worst experience ever. I will not be returning, the service sucks and the overall place is a joke. Whenever we are really hungry, and cannot make up our minds on what to eat- this has been the place. The food here is decent. They had a good variety. I really liked their grilled meat! Cannot go wrong with that. They were really neat, and were very nice. Our waitress was very amicable, funny, and quick on her feet. She did not miss a beat and checked on us the entire time. We had an early dinner at Golden Corral in Goodyear. The food wasn't bad. But what happened while we were there was disgusting and horrific. Behind us were a family with an elderly woman and a service dog. The waitress told the elderly woman that she needed to provide paperwork for the service dog. This conversation was not private. The waitress humiliated this poor woman in front of everyone who was eating. She went out to the car to find the paperwork and the dog remained under the table, very well behaved, as service dogs are trained to be. When the woman returned without the paperwork, the family took the dog and left the establishment, having already paid for their meal. I am beyond disgusted with this treatment of people with disabilities. As I left, I made my feelings known, making sure to do so in front of customers, just as the wait staff had done to this family. read more

My wife was scheduled to work on Thanksgiving Day so we made no plans. That morning she learned she had the day off, too late to thaw out a turkey. So we invited our daughter and her four little boys to join us at Golden Corral in Avondale. Of course, there was a line out the door when we arrived around 2:30, but that was expected. It moved steadily and I don't think it was more than 20 minutes before we were seated at a good-sized table. The staff were friendly and efficient and didn't seem to mind working the holiday. The food was delicious, and I was impressed considering the high volume of customers they were serving. The turkey was roasted perfectly, and everything we had was excellent. Our cost for 7 of us was about $155, for us all to eat our fill, try different desserts, have our beverages refilled every time they got low (and without having to flag anyone down to do it), and best of all, no dishes to clean up afterwards! It's not the same as having the whole family together at our house for Thanksgiving Dinner, but it was still very nice and we appreciate Golden Corral for it. read more

I'm NOT a buffet fan primarily because I don't eat that much of a variety and quantity of food at one meal. In addition, since the pandemic I'm MORE mindful of cleanliness and hesitant with many hands on the serving utensils. This visit was to celebrate my cousin's daughter's birthday so I went to support them. Before the day, I was planning what I would eat and pretty much stuck to it. No pics but I had some broccoli salad (served cold), 1 baked chicken drumstick, 3 fresh, delicious fried chicken drumsticks that came out while I was at the buffet line contemplating what I what going to put on my place. Of course, I used a napkin to hold the serving tongs/spoons. :-) Both the server who brought the drinks for my 3 other family members, Jesus who was getting ready to get off, and Martina who cleared our plates, were excellent. I always bring bottled water with me. The 3 stars is because my daughter went to the restroom and couldn't use it because it was HORRIBLE!!! The restaurant was not that crowded when we were there a Saturday ago so there's no reason it should've been in poor condition. I'd would say it's fine for those who like buffets. Well there is NOTHING Golden about this place. Many Years ago this place was a location that took pride in its food. Not anymore! 2 years ago quality and cleanliness was becoming a BIG issue. So Golden Corral has been closed for approximately a year. It re-opened 4-6 weeks ago. Should have been cleaned up Right.. WRONG. How the health dept cleared this location is beyond words. You would almost think this location ran the dishes threw a dishwasher and said let's open.. we still have food we can cook from last year. Dirt, food, boogers, gum, dust, you name it and you will find it on your table, door handles etc. Air vents are dirty, floor in kitchen area is nasty! That's not black grout FYI! And since we are talking about kitchen let's talk about kitchen staff.. it was like looking at a prison movie. If they were in Orange jump suits it would make you feel incarcerated.. Food- so after inmate cut me a piece of steak! Lol. It was about 4 forks worth 1.5 OZ at best. It was 90% fat. I was like are you flipping serious. The Baked Beans were obviously WAY past the legal hold time. Mash potatoes and gravy tasted like they went to KFC cause they ran out. The desert was ok. It helped get the crap taste of the dinner out of my mouth. We got all this for Two.... $50.00!!!!! Now think about all the places that are better for that price or less! As soon as I walked in all I can see is dirty tables every where I gave them the benefit of the doubt because it's Father's Day but it's dead tables have been sitting there with plates and cups for about an hour. I honestly did not want to write a review about this place because it is a place my kids like for one reason and one reason only. Can you guess why???? THEIR SELF HELP DESSERT BUFFET. My kids always ask to go there because they will literally get one plate for their meal with only two items. My son will probably will just have one slice of pizza if I let him, and then its off to the races. We don't go often, so when we do agree to take them there, my husband and I must be in none parenting moment ( don't worry it is not often). But if we both had a long day and nowhere near the house then the decision might be made two against two. Explanation: There are four people in my family, us two parents and my daughter and son. Therefore, every time we have no time and there are no previous plans ahead of time for a huge family outing, we all take turns picking where we want to eat. Which is how we end up here more often than we would like. If it is either of the kids turn to pick, than my husband and I are obviously done for! LOL!!! Nonetheless, we take the kids, they are happy with their decisions. Unfortunately, for my husband and I, we are left with very greasy food. Bland, flavorless items. Not that I am expecting a FIVE star dinning experience, but it is just not for me. It just seems like they are always running behind on replenishing, or cleaning a table or floors or bathrooms or food counters....too much to go on. Still, I had to review. The place is always packed, and the cleanliness of the place is not very good probably due to all the people out and about and all around. The steak section was handing out very nasty tasting steaks that were not edible. They should be ashamed for selling that to the public. It was only at about 30% of full capacity. Now I see why.
