As of this post, this was our third visit and there will likely be more. Definitely recommend giving Dave's a try, at least! We use the drive thru (have yet to go inside.) Each time the employees have been impeccably nice & patient as we order. Recently, ordered the #2 - two sliders, slaw, side of 4-5 pickle slices, and fries- up-charge added cheese to our fries. My husband and I shared- more than enough for us to have one sandwich each, half the fries and be happy. Though we wanted to try them, we also ordered 3 cheese "sticks," which were more like giant cheese wedges, (they were pretty big!) You get to select your spicy factor for just about everything from mild to like the depths of fire- we opted medium for our sliders and hot for the mozz wedges; (TIP* when they say hot- they don't mess around! If it's your first visit, only get 1 in your hottest preference to try it before committing to a large order.) We enjoyed the flavor of the medium, but probably wouldn't go hot, (or hotter as is an option if you don't want to feel your tongue!) There was a nice burn that lasted at least 30 minutes, but I prefer to taste the rest of my food. The batter on the mozz sticks was sweet, almost like a funnel cake, but it was quickly overpowered by our spice choice. The cheese pull was great! Would be an idea to get friends & do a hot ones challenge to see how spicy you could go though! If asked & I do suggest to, get extra honey & Dave's sauce! The food has been fresh and hot temperature wise every time. The drive thru wait is the only hang-up we've experienced, it seems to take longer than normal, but I assume either cooks are learning or just due to the sheer fact of the food being made to order and FRESH. Either way, it's worth the wait- just be prepared if you have a time limit or crying kids in the car with you. They offer different unusual shakes and slushies that we didn't get, but hope to try next time and I'll update then. Overall, would absolutely recommend and visit again! read more

We went in around 10ish on a weekday night. The place had recently opened for business so it was so clean and ready for us. There were so many employees there, we were definitely taken care of. The prices are a little over what we expected. The food was ready quick. I got mine with no spice because I'm a softy but it was really good. My husband's was just right for him too. The fries were great. All in all it was delicious. I would've given five stars but the prices were more than we expected. read more

First and foremost, the service was fantastic. I accidentally ordered the wrong item and didn't catch it until a few minutes later, but they fixed it without any hassle--and even gave us the food, which had already been made. That was a really nice surprise. My husband and I both ordered sliders with fries, and honestly, the portions were huge. The chicken on those sliders was massive--we easily could've split one. I went with medium and he chose hot, and both had enough kick to get our noses running. Great flavor, super crispy & juicy chicken, and I loved the soft buns and coleslaw. The fries were perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and came in a generous portion. The Dave's sauce was good too! The only downside was the mozzarella sticks. First time trying, will be back to try others. I got the loaded mac and cheese with hot chicken and the not hot sliders for my son. We both enjoyed our meals. The business opened recently and everything still looks pretty fresh and clean. The employees were welcoming and cheerful. The lady taking the order was hard to hear, but it wasn't on her as much as the building is just loud, music is a little loud, then the beverage machine next to her makes a lot of noise making ice and the fans in the back, overall makes it hard to hear them, but that isn't really a complaint as much as an observation. The only complaint I really had was it took around 15 minutes for my food to be made, which is a good and bad thing as it means it was fresh, but still seems excessive for what you are getting. read more

I saw that it was coming. I drove by yesterday and saw the blowup chicken outside. I was in the area so thought to give it a try. I looked at the reviews before entering and saw a 5-star from someone I respect. The bright vibrant colors are inviting. The LOUD music is too much and requires staff and customers to shout to communicate. No bueno. I couldn't dine in here. After receiving my order I asked for the manager and expressed my concern of the volume and was basically told that's how it is. The menu is pricey but decent portion sizes. My cashier, Jayla was genuinely polite, patient in answering questions and friendly. I selected Dave's #1 which is 2 chicken fingers with fries. After asking about the ingredients of the Kale Slaw, I took a chance and ordered a side. I was pleasantly surprised. The Kale Salad is delicious. I would pick up a side to complete a meal. The fries are crunchy with a flavorful seasoning. We are not a fan of the chicken. Whoever is placing the receipt on the orders should have clean hands/gloves. Management: Pay attention to each review instead of responding generically with duplicate comments. read more

Tried this place for the first time. It's new in Surprise. Nice place. Simple and efficient. The chicken sliders are not really sliders. They are sandwiches so order accordingly. We stopped by on our way back to LA. I ordered my combo Hot, but got the medium (sticker said Hot) my mom got ordered medium and they gave her the extra hot (sticker said med) my nephew ordered mild and he got extra hot lol! He complained and we gave him a hard time about it until we tried it, it was way too hot, definitely not the mild! My husband ate my nephew's "mild" meal and he was crying cause it was so hot! Lol (it's okay we love spicy) . They didn't have shakes because the machine was not working. There were a few other mix ups but we didn't complain or send anything back, I understand it's new and there might be some hiccups, but it made the experience disappointing. And no Crystal hot sauce?!?! We love Dave's hot chicken and frequent the locations in Burbank and Rosemead, so we were excited that they were opening a new location in Surprise because we go there often. We came today for the soft opening instead of waiting to go to tomorrow's official grand opening. While the line in the drive thru was long and inside crazy busy the lines went fairly quick. We chose the drive thru and had a great experience. Service was phenomenal. The employee was friendly, patient and offered assistance with the menu if needed. We ordered the two slider meal and a two piece tender meal, as well as a drink. Food came out pretty quick and we were on our way. Definitely prepare yourself as it's not cheep, but portions are huge. Food was good. I'd only had the nuggets before today and had ordered medium. Which was perfect. Today we chose Hot and it was almost too spicy for me. Loved the slider. The pickle and kale combo really kicked it up a notch. The art outside and in is amazing. Parking lot is huge and shared with the new Fry's grocery store. They were smart coming off the drive thru to keep the chaos in order and lines going one way. They are one of the only spots in Surprise open late every night which is nice for late night snacks. Great stop. read more

While the portions of the chicken are worth crediting, the taste, or should I say, lack of, has something that is less desired. The medium slider had barely noticeable heat. The flavor, absent. I would've liked to have tasted more than just the tiny drop of sauce on it. This went for all 3 of our sandwiches. Thank you by the way for forgetting the pickles on and on the side. The fries were seasoned and tasty. The mozzarella sticks. Cooked well, cheese melted, perfectly cooked Seasoning, could've took some of it and added to the slider. A little too salty. Worst Dave's hot chicken I have ever been to. I've never had a negative experience with the food at Dave's, but this food was subpar. At the time I went it wasn't busy. Checked out the newest spot ! Nice clean location located in the new Fry's shopping center. We decided to go through the drive-through and despite the long wait time and the so-so customer service, prob being new on the job, not very friendly or people oriented the food came out piping hot-- very good sized portion meals although in my opinion, the chicken and fries tasted very salty not sure if it was just me but our kids enjoyed it so I guess that's all that matters ! Next time. Maybe I could ask no salt? But glad you guys are in Surprise giving us locals more variety of eateries here!! read more

Ordered two meals to go. 30 minute wait, no apologies. I understand they just opened but better empathy goes a long way. Zero taste to the tenders except grease when we ordered medium. Upcharged $1.50 for cheese fries. Got home, tray wasn't even half full of fries and had a half squirt of cheese on them.
