Some of the items vary from saturday to sunday. The previous time we visited was sunday. Dole whip is on sunday. Ice cream is on saturday. Love the POG. My faves: french toast topped with strawberry syrup, corned beef hash, biscuits & gravy, chicken fried steak, hash casserole, and the fruit, like peaches and pineapple. The made to order omelet is huge, so I suggest splitting that item. Karina was our server, and she was very attentive. The available tea is black tea. I was able to scan my code for one of the receipts, but when I tried to do the scan for the other one, I got an error message, stating that you could only scan once every four hours. Hmm, I think that this needs to be addressed. You are limited to scan within three days of your visit. I tried again, and I got the same error message. So, I wasn't able to scan it after all. The fact that this restaurant has anything above a 1.5-star rating is honestly unbelievable. Without a doubt, this is the worst restaurant I've ever eaten at. I came in expecting a decent meal, but the food was incredibly disappointing from the very first bite. The taco meat was absolutely horrendous. It had an awful taste, the texture was off, and it honestly seemed like it had no care put into it whatsoever. Jaheim didn't like it either, and that's saying something because he's usually not very picky. We both ended up leaving disappointed and wondering how food like this is actually being served. What makes this even more frustrating is that the employees did everything right. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in. Everyone was friendly, respectful, patient, and worked hard to make sure we had a good experience. The drinks were also great and were honestly the best part of the meal. I want to make it very clear that this review is not directed at the staff. They deserve recognition for how well they treated us. The real issue is the food itself and whoever is responsible for the recipes, ingredients, or quality standards. I don't know what they're giving the kitchen to work with, but something seriously needs to change because it's simply not good enough. No amount of great customer service can make up for food that tastes this bad. If reviews were based only on customer service, Jaheim and I would easily give this place 6 out of 5 stars because the employees genuinely earned it. Unfortunately, restaurants are ultimately judged by the quality of their food, and this was one of the most disappointing meals I've ever had. The chicken wings had a strange taste, and the pizza smelled and tasted a bit like cardboard. Honestly, the salad bar and dessert section were the highlights for me and the main reason I went back for more. One thing that was confusing was the seafood section. I really wish they would put out some regular slices of bread instead of just buttered Texas Toast; it goes with breakfast better. My other recommendation would be to chop up some onion and cilantro for the menudo soup they offer. Now the REAL reason I am writing this review! The hours for this establishment here on Yelp are incorrect: Yelp says they open at 11am Mon-Fri, when in fact they open at 8am on Fridays. Last gripe- the Mexican female waitress with curly hair does wayyy more talking than working. Two times I needed something and she was nowhere to be found! Came for lunch today. There may some negatives coming here, but they always have good fried chicken. Love to have that with mashed potato's, gravy and cabbage. The salad bar always has a great selection and the ranch tastes homemade. The steak is always hit or miss. One time it's cooked perfectly medium and tender. Other times it's raw or shoe leather. My childhood friend returned to town from Indiana and I suggested his favorite place in the world for lunch - Golden Corral. Apparently, there are no Golden Corral locations relatively close to him in the city he lives in. I know Golden Corral is a chain buffet restaurant, but I've actually never been here before, despite seeing the name thousands of times in commercials. The only thing I know about them is their famous chocolate fountain, which, sadly, I didn't see here. I later learned that this is no longer a self-serve kind of thing due to safety and sanitary concerns. Boo. Upon entering, we chose our drink (iced tea for my friend and a fountain drink for me) and then paid for our buffet choice (2 adults). At just $17/person, this wasn't too bad. We sat down at a booth, where I studied the surrounding area on which buffet stands to visit first. They have a salad/protein stand, a meat stand, a comfort food stand, a fish stand, and a dessert stand. I spent more time at the salad/protein stand way more than the other ones. My friend, for some reason, had a milkshake right before coming here and was so full from it that he only had one plate. My first plate consisted of pineapple, a slice of pizza, and macaroni salad. My second plate consisted of coleslaw, potato salad, and a slice of watermelon. My friend's only plate consisted of two burgers and a bowl of corn. I helped him finish his corn so it wouldn't go to waste. I did consider trying out their dessert, but I was too full so I didn't get the chance to. Some desserts that I caught a glimpse of were cupcakes, cotton candy, and soft serve ice cream. We literally got there at the right time, because as we sat down, a long line was beginning to form. Not too bad for a first timer at Golden Corral, especially coming from someone who doesn't frequent buffets very often. The food was pretty good, especially the fruit. The fruit was very fresh and juicy, like it had just been prepared. I also learned here that you can take their food to go, which I never thought of this happening in buffet restaurants. There were groups of ppl coming in and the whole place was buzzing. Spacious restaurant with plenty of seatings. A good selection of food but simple dishes. You're not going to get shrimp and steak high end level food but good enough to have a meal , a few plates. I was actually full off of 3 plates and a soup bowl. This restaurant is not service animal friendly..I had my small serving dog on my lap in order for him to perform his functions and was told i had to put him on the floor were he can't perform his functions properly. I told the female that i was talking to he needed to be on my lap but she mistakenly or misrepresented the health code regulations, they state that the service animal cannot be on the table or chair/bench! Below while poached some pictures of the regulations so maybe these uneducated service workers can actually learn the regulations. It always baffles me when someone who is not a service animal owner thinks they know more about a service animal Owner! Except for Dora and Carmen the employees are nice. Carmen was mean to us a few months back and we just stop sitting in her area. Carmen would clean or pick up around us but didn't stop at our table. We listened to them talk half the 20 minutes we waited and It's only a few tables. Today we sat down about 1:38. It was 1:56 when I got up and got my own water cause that's all we wanted and she NEVER came. First I want to say thank you for the Free Veteran's Day Meal. I haven't been to a Golden Corral in over 5 years , mostly because I live on the other side of town and both locations in Vegas are on the Eastside. When I got there they had a small line forming outside which I expected , but it went very quickly. I was seated right away. This was the first time at this location , I went a couple times to the Lamb location years ago. I have to say I think this one looks a little better from what I remember. My server was really good about checking on me to see if I needed anything like a refill and such. I did 2 plates and a dessert plate. I had the sweet tea with my meal and it was pretty good and not too sweet , just right for me. It was good to see all the Veterans eating with friends and families and they had a donation table set up also for the Disabled American Veterans . To start the Fried Chicken and the Chicken Pot Pie were my favorites. The Pork Rib was just okay. Mashed Potatoes and Gravy , Corn , Green Beans were all good and tasted pretty fresh , of course I'm sure the Mashed Potatoes were probably instant , but they tasted good and I used the Turkey Gravy on them. Candied Yams were also good. The Roll I got was like those buttered ones at Texas Roadhouse , really good. The Bbq Pulled Pork was not very good and the Hush Puppy was not bad. I should have tried the Cornbread. The desserts I liked the Apple Cobbler and the Cinnamon Roll Bread. They also had like a Slushy machine and I tried all 3 flavors and liked the Banana the best. They also had Cherry and Lime something which I didn't care for. Strawberry Shortcake was pretty good , but the Chocolate Cake I wasn't much into. The Carrot Cake looked really good , but I didn't try it. All in all I would go back here if I was on this side of town. My wife and I have gone to the Golden Corral located on Sunset Road in Henderson, Nevada, several times. We went in this past Sunday, on Mother's Day; man, this place was extremely busy, (Hey it was mother's day) but we were able to find a good table. Our Server Ariana was awesome; she always kept an eye on us and cleared our plates and refilled our drinks. She had numerous tables going on at one time and she was very busy. She was down to earth and very friendly. The food was good and the staff kept watch to make sure they didn't run out of anything. We have taken our son and his fiancée and most recently our daughter and her boyfriend, they all loved this place and enjoyed themselves, so much so, that our daughter and her boyfriend went to the Golden Corral in Colorado Springs where they now live and enjoyed themselves. I find The Golden Corral a difficult place to rate. Here's why... If you are a family with children the dinner is most likely when you should go. Otherwise, you may find you presence frowned upon? The meat selection goes on with fried chicken, rotisserie chicken, and the most scrumptious ribs! Not to mention every side dish you could want. Then just wait because the crispy cold salad bar is so amazing I recommend saving that for last. Fill up on the things you've never tried first. Because believe it or not the fish was moist and so flavorful you will have to remind yourself that you are at a buffet and not a seafood restaurant. The atmosphere is clean, with very attentive employees. As soon as you're ready to try something else a smiling service employee is right there taking your dirty plates so you can bring back another round of something new. Oh wait!! But if you didn't know many elderly people love coming here because they do get a discount and they love variety. So sometimes I end up coming here to enjoy a nice meal with a family uncle. He loved it here and we have so many nice memories. The staff at this location is quite fun and they are the happiest I've seen in Golden Corrals. The food here also is fresh and usually all nice and warm. If you haven't been to a Golden Corral it is an American-style buffet where you walk around and pick some salad, soup, cooked meats, and different items. At the moment they have these large deep-fried shrimp for dinner and also mini churros that you can have with you to make your sundae. We went to the Golden Corral on Sunset Rd and we were not treated fairly. My fiance and I went to get dessert and only left the table for a few minutes, when we came back to the table, the waiter had already picked up our food and threw my fiancé's food away without asking if we were done eating. He had put a fork in my fiancé's water and was still wanting to drink history water and finish eating. We lost our appetite and left after that. We will not be returning to this location. read more

Terrible customer service by the hostesses. They yell at customers and have poor hospitality etiquette. They'll yell at customers about policies that are never disclosed to customers upon entry, but will gladly look the other way when it comes to their family and friends. This was my first time here. The hostess was nice but she over charged me. I came in with my daughter and was charged for 2 adults. Not a super big deal, but just a little annoying. The place was not as clean as it could be, but we were there about 2 hours before closing, so maybe they were completing pre-closing duties and it just looked a little disorganized. Food was good. They were constantly bringing out fresh food. There wasn't any empty food stations, everything was stocked and freshly brought out. I really enjoyed the fried chicken and steak. What a great place to eat on Thanksgiving! My mother said the smoked turkey was so tender that you could cut it with a fork! Taire said he smoked it all night long and he did an amazing job! I had my reservations when I first came here (thoughts of hometown buffet played my mind) but I actually like it here.
