The food is ok for being a Chinese Buffet in a tiny Arizona town. Possibly Vomiting it up a 3 hours later, not quite so ok.

I still had a fun time. There were good eatery options being that they are *way* out there. Free play plus my $20 lasted us a few hours on the slots. We were able to catch the Suns game at the bar (and take advantage of the free sodas at the nearby soda fountain). We also listened in on the sound check for the concert happening later that evening. All in all a decent visit to the casino. Would have been better to have won. Meh. Maybe next time.

Rooms are spacious, modern, and clean. The only issue I had was with the shower which was either a turbo-force gale or a trickle rain shower. Something in between would have been preferred. But it was a large, spacious shower and a big bathroom. Rooms have keurig coffee makers and a decent-sized tv. (I've been in some hotels with dinky tvs that are hardly worth the effort). This is a newer hotel added to the casino and includes a beautiful pool and hot tub area and a small workout room. It's adjacent to the casino and its cafes and steakhouse and bowling alley! I would definitely return again and hope to do so in the near future. A great value for the price of the room. I recommend.

Here at COLT Grill I had The Filly, a salad the menu described as "romaine, walnuts, pears, cranberries, bleu cheese crumbles, cranberry vinaigrette". I opted for the "small" ($8.50) over the" large" ($13) and it was a beautiful salad both in presentation and taste. But the salad portion of the menu also said one could "add chicken or smoked turkey" ($4) or "add beef brisket" ($5) and I did. Did you just tell me I could get a perfect, tasty, ample salad with a separate, robust and delicious side of BBQ beef brisket for $13.50? I wasn't just ready to fly to Arizona; I was ready to move to Cottonwood. This meal was delicious. A "small platter of smoked brisket" ($14.50) was enjoyed equally by another at my table but, with my bowlful of brisket, I paid little attention to that other meal. My attention instead was aimed at a nearby table's indulgence in the smoked Mac-n-cheese ($4.75) and Cheesy Jalapeño Corn Bread ($4). Jealous I was, for I had no room for anything more. What a winner. COLT Grill might be half the reason I return to this area in the future.

There were pull pork, salad, corn bread and butter, mac & cheese, some kind of purple-ish cold slaw, mash potatoes and gravy, and a homemade cinnamon apple cake. Several different bbq sauces. They served some alcohol. You have to buy it, of course. The entertainment was funny and great. Loved all the songs they sang. Dinner started at 7pm. Entry to dinner started at 6:30pm. All the young servers were great. They were busy and helpful. They had animals, birds, mini golf, this 4 table ping pong table, escape room, axe throwing, old photo shoot ($15pp), mini museum, big chess game, connect 4, etc. But we didn't get to enjoy all the games because we accidentally took the long way to get to Blazin' M Ranch. Instead of 30 mins, it took us like 45 mins ish. By the time we arrived, everyone was starting to go in the barn for the dinner and show. We really enjoyed this event. https://blazinm.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=gbp

The best is to grab a strong beverage of choice or two at the saloon beforehand to make it all so much funnier. A few extra fun touches before the dinner show:: a mini rail ride around the property and hanging out with the petting zoo animals. We paid for our old west portraits to get taken and at $40 for a couple to try on the costumes and make it happen was fun. As far as the petting zoo, bring some fresh produce in your pockets for the goats and the absolutely charming mini horse Gucci. He steals the petting zoo show. The dinner: soooo much great BBQ and dessert. We had delicious smoked chicken and pulled pork. Sides of Mac and cheese, homemade slaw, honey glazed corn bread, homemade mashed potatoes and the award winning grandmas apple cinnamon powdered cake. They encourage you to grab seconds. We couldn't even finish our firsts. Ok the show: it was outright hilarious. The owners and hired gun Eric Wildman Williams absolutely put on the next comedy and music infused hour show. You won't want that to ever end. I cannot say this enough: it was well worth the VIP package price we paid. If 10/5 stars were available, that's what they would get.

I walked into Fred Harvey expecting the usual sad hotel buffet vibes--lukewarm mystery meats and…read moreregret--but instead, I got pleasantly schooled. This place is surprisingly decent, and in buffet land, that's basically a Michelin star. Breakfast? Solid. Dinner? Also solid. They're pulling double duty like a champ without breaking a sweat. The bread is fresh-baked and dangerously addictive (I may have committed carb crimes). The pasta station had me twirling happiness, and the omelette station was flipping out perfect custom creations without judgment. But let's be real: the true MVP was the soft serve. That creamy, dreamy swirl machine had me acting unwise. I went back for thirds and zero shame. Shoutout to the staff--they're genuinely nice and accommodating, like they actually enjoy their jobs. Rare as a perfectly cooked buffet egg. Whether you're fueling up before a day of whatever you do in this area or winding down with dinner, Fred Harvey delivers without the usual side of disappointment. Pro tip: Leave room for the soft serve. Trust me. I'm basically a professional now. Would return. Might marry the soft serve machine. 1 Star - Fred Harvey Gift Shop: Where the Souvenirs Are Fine, But the Racism Is Vintage I came for some overpriced keychains and maybe a magnet to remember my surprisingly decent meal at the attached Fred Harvey restaurant. What I got instead was a masterclass in selective hospitality from an old white-haired lady behind the counter who clearly moonlights as the neighborhood gatekeeper. First incident: Restaurant's closing, gift shop too. My son lags a few steps behind (you know, kid stuff), so we're casually browsing while waiting. Out comes the yell: "We're closed!" I politely explain we're just waiting for him. "You need to get out." Cool, cool. Right then, a white lady and her daughter stroll up. Same situation--waiting for hubby. Suddenly it's all "Oh ok dear, no problem! Take your time!" The contrast was so stark I nearly got whiplash. Round two, breakfast the next day. We actually wanted to buy stuff this time. Walk straight from the restaurant (it's connected!) into the shop. Another white lady enters from outside. "Darling, we're closed." She says she'll just grab a couple things--boom, "Ok that's fine!" Then my son swings around the corner and it's instant yelling: "WE ARE CLOSED! You can't buy anything!!" I jump in: "We came from the restaurant, we were already in here." Her response? A legendary "SO!" My white friend (who could pass for Latin) had to step in and point out the obvious double standard before she grudgingly let us shop. At that point? Zero desire to give her a single dollar. I wanted to vault the counter and test if that hair was a wig, but I'm a lady who respects her elders--even when they don't respect basic decency. For context: My kids are half Black, half Spanish. Beautiful, polite, and just trying to buy some tourist junk like everyone else. The racism was so blatant it ruined what should've been a harmless five-minute transaction. The shop itself? Meh souvenirs. The experience? 1 star and a lifetime of side-eye. Racism is alive and well in the gift shop, folks. Skip it unless you enjoy vintage prejudice with your postcards. Would not return. Might mail the manager a mirror instead. I would be giving the restaurant a 5 star review for the amazing service and pretty impressive buffet experience, but the gift shop ruined that guys. Most of the "hot" items were cold, tasted like they had been sitting out far too long, and seemed anything but fresh. The carving station was the worst part. The meat I was served was severely undercooked -- to the point it was inedible. I actually had to placed it on a napkin, and the waitress took it back to show her manager because of how bad it was. That alone should tell you everything. The service didn't improve the situation either. The check-in process was disorganized and unwelcoming, and overall the experience just felt poorly managed from start to finish. For the price you pay, this place is absolutely not worth it. There are far better options out there. I would not return and definitely would not recommend it to anyone. We paid 72.00 for this buffet which wasn't posted anywhere when you walk up or I would have not eaten here !
