    "House fried rice"
    Jose C.

Terrible. The house fried rice I ordered looked and tasted old and reheated. No flavor and barely any meat. This place used to be good. It's a shame.

I was somewhat hesitant about eating here after seeing the 3 star rating on Yelp. But we had been driving around Tucson for sometime and couldn't agree on anything else, so Chinese at Golden Dragon it was. The restaurant is quite small with about 9 or 10 tables, but a friendly and cozy atmosphere with lots of takeout customers coming and going. Our server tried so hard to balance our initial table that was wobbly, but eventually reseated us at the larger table next to us, the only other available. We ordered oolong tea to have with our meal, and then their chicken foo young, sesame beef, crunchy rice with vegetables and chicken, and chicken chop suey. Steamed rice was also included. Total before tip: $52.84. I enjoyed everything but as for my wife; the chicken foo young and chop suey, not so much. She thought the chicken was too salty and the chop suey veggies overcooked. But plenty of leftovers for a meal the following day in our hotel room, before heading off to see Hamilton at Centennial Hall. Not great Chinese food here but definitely above average.

My father took me to this place near his home, and we went there, there was a bald man at the door that day he was kind of rude to us. But that's not the main concern. My concern is how I felt about 15 /20 minutes after eating here. And so did my father and later that evening so did my husband because I took him a dish to go, well something in the rice or in the green pepper meat or the lomein dish was making all of us have excruciating pain in our stomachs.. and here I am at 2:53 am still on the toilet on and off all day after eating here. I am not sure if the meat they sold was old meat or what. If poisoned or what. Or if the other people who were there that day also had this problem, I'm not sure but I can declare to you with certainty that I've eaten street food from many places abroad but it has not amounted in how I am right now. And that's speaking for myself I can't speak on the behalf of my family who's also been affected by this situation.. please be aware i hate to even write this review like this but i never get stomach aches like this after eating.. I hope they are serving quality food at least please, I like to support small family businesses but dang. These corners can't be cut like that.

General Tso's Chicken lunch special at $9.95.
    Eric L.

This isn't going to be the best Chinese meal you've ever had, but just about everything I've had here is good and I've been eating there since the 80s. The lunch special was $2.95 back then ($9.95 now). The lunch specials are particularly good for the cost. You can get in and out quickly and the service is good. Order a water and it's one of the few places where you can get a lunch special nowadays for $10, and it's filling. Soup is included but not in my picture. Keep in mind the other Golden Dragons have different reputations but this one is usually the best. See the other reviews to get an idea. Tip: There's more parking behind the restaurant. Drive around and you'll see a little walkway to the front. Much easier than trying to wedge into the small spots at that shopping center.

We've been coming here for many years since they were in their old location. Noplace else in town does presentation like Wild Garlic. The dishes are always stunning. If you want to impress someone, this is the place to take them. They seem like they are protein focused due to their emphasis on quality steaks and seafood, but the plates have a wide variety of vegetables to accompany the protein. Root vegetables, asparagus, and the sauces really make the meal. It's not like going to a steakhouse where you get a lonely slab of meat - here you get a well-rounded plate. Our server was wonderful - so pleasant, and did a great job of memorizing the specials, because they always are extensive. We don't come here as often as we should - we really love the place.

For what it costs to dine here, it has to be impressive. $200+ for two. Cocktails were not anything special. It just wasn't that good for the cost. Buffalo Trace Manhattan lacked the flavors of a well executed Manhattan. We had the Oysters Rockefeller which was excellent. Balanced flavors, not overly cheesy and one of the better versions of this we've had. Then it went downhill. The Halibut was dry. Overcooked. Flavors were okay. The fish felt like I was chewing through wet paper. The rack of lamb, it was not good. Flavors were lacking, no crust, and it was soggy. Portions were generous with 7-8 pieces, but at the cost of ~$70, which, as a special menu item, was not listed. Not too generous after all. Wild Garlic Grill has a habit of trying to plate the same vegetables on practically every single plate. Don't get me wrong, I love vegetables, but this just doesn't work. The plate is overpacked with watery vegetables that dilute the flavors or ruin the crust of the meats. We stopped coming here over 5 years ago, but after several online groups recommended it, we decided to try again. I'm not sure we'll be back this time.

We complained the minute we saw how small the KING crab was. About 10 inches long total with about 3/4 inch in diameter in shell! Now I have had king crab before and the legs were at least 2 feet in length not 10". We went home hungry and $104.00 less in our pockets. Manager was our server and only gave us 10% off! This does even cover the cost of the sausages we paid for but never got. WE ARE NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN AND NOT RECOMMENDING!

Wow wow wow, I…read morecan't believe I waited this long to try wildflower. I made reservations and was seated immediately. Our poor waitress Alison was working HARD she had tables inside and outside and was really making sure we weren't neglected. We ordered our mocktails which were amazing and well priced compared to other places I've been. They have fresh baked bread with oil, garlic, Parmesan and she let us know bread should be out soon but we ordered an appetizer in the meantime of calamari which was cooked to perfection and it had an Asian spin on it which was really good. We then got our bread after the appetizer which was nice to munch on while we waited for our food. The short rib ravioli is my absolute favorite it's so flavorful, the sauce is rich and deep in flavor Pro tip- save some bread to wipe up the extra sauce. Desert was the lemon olive oil cake it was a tiny bit dry but it came with ice cream and buttercream and the mixture of everything made it all come together. Honestly it's so cute inside and the patio is nice with the misters. Service was great our waitress was really running around the restaurant but we never felt neglected and the food was phenomenal. They have a huge outdoor seating area, and even though it was very hot outside, it actually felt comfortable because of the misting system and fans. The inside is just as lovely. It has that warm, "this is a nice place to be" feeling that makes you want to sit and enjoy your meal. We went for lunch at a great time and were seated immediately with no wait. For an appetizer, we ordered the steamed mussels with spicy Italian sausage, and oh my goodness! If you love mussels, Wildflower knows what they're doing. They were absolutely delicious and probably my favorite thing we ordered. We also had the short rib ravioli, which was fantastic. It was the lunch portion, and my son actually thought it was too small because he loved it so much and wanted more! He completely cleaned his plate, so I'd say that's a pretty solid endorsement. We also ordered the fish and chips, which were delicious as well. I'm not usually a fish-and-chips girl, but the portion was generous and everything was really good. The reason I'm giving Wildflower 3 stars instead of 5 is the service. The food actually came out fairly quickly, but there were some pretty long gaps between interactions with our server. It felt a little sporadic, with very few check-ins throughout the meal. At one point, since we had already received our bill and had been waiting, I asked another waiter if he could take our payment. He told me he couldn't, which I completely understand if that's not something he was allowed to do, but when I asked if he could at least get our server, that didn't happen either. So we continued waiting. The other issue was the table spacing. A large group was seated near us, which obviously isn't a problem, but the tables were so close together that whenever their waiter came over, he was essentially standing right over our table his rear was literally touching the bread basket. I actually had to move our bread out of the way because there simply wasn't enough space. It definitely wasn't the waiter's fault; there just wasn't enough room between the tables. That said, the food and atmosphere were excellent, and I would absolutely come back. Hopefully the service was just an off day because Wildflower has a lot going for it. The mussels alone are worth coming back for!

We like to switch up our appetizers every visit, so this time I tried something new, the escargot with artichokes. If you've never had escargot before, this is the perfect beginner dish. The escargot was buttery, tender, and packed with flavor. Paired with the artichokes and toasted bread, it was absolutely incredible. I almost ate the entire order by myself because I simply couldn't stop! We also ordered the shrimp and crab cakes, and wow, these were phenomenal. The outside had the perfect crispy crust while the inside was tender, flavorful, and full of seafood. The accompanying sauce tied everything together beautifully. For our entrées, we had the seared tenderloin over creamy polenta, cooked medium rare. It was perfection. The tenderloin was incredibly tender and flavorful, the wine sauce was rich without being overpowering, and the polenta was creamy and comforting. The portion was also very generous. We also shared the rigatoni with braised short rib, and I honestly can't stop thinking about it. The short rib was melt in your mouth tender, juicy, and so flavorful that I'd happily order a plate of just that! Combined with the perfectly cooked rigatoni, rich sauce, and a generous sprinkle of Parmesan, it was one of those dishes where every bite was better than the last. Our server was fantastic, attentive, friendly, and full of great recommendations without ever making us feel rushed. The restaurant itself is always beautiful and has such an elegant atmosphere. Since we were celebrating my son's birthday, I was hoping we'd get one of the tables with the city view, but honestly, the outstanding food and exceptional service more than made up for it. Friends and I decided to celebrate my birthday here. A friend made the reservations and was able to get us in the large group room. Felt like being in a beautiful home with full west-facing windows/views to the patio that overlooks the lush golf course. All 12 of us arrived a little early so we took the opportunity to take pictures outside while enjoying libations. The Fig and Honey is a wonderfully refreshing cocktail! Our server made sure to identify herself prior to let us know that she would be the one taking care of us. Once we were herded into our room, it was a great experience from start to finish, with Tina. A few of us ordered apps of beef tartare and crudo style hamachi - both winners. I was gifted a yummy Mini Beer. For my entree I ordered the short ribs with Yukon gold mashed potatoes. Would recommend but they were not as rich one would expect in more of a winter stew but that was probably ok for a summer meal. For dessert, I got the birthday carrot cake with roman candle, and everyone got a flute of champagne or sparkling cider. The cake was an interestingly delicious slice with 1/4" alternating layers of cake and frosting. All in all, the service was perfect, attendent but not helicopter-y. We were able to relax and have an amazing time. We were well taken care of by Tina. The hubby is already pitching the venue for future special family events. And, yeah yeah, it's at a hotel/resort, but so far, this place is what I would consider for a group special event.
