While visiting from Phoenix over the holidays in 2022, my car developed an overheating issue. I asked my family in Loomis if they had a recommendation of a good honest mechanic that could fix without taking advantage of me and they recommended Golden Eagle automotive. I spoke with the owner Rob and found him to be very nice and accommodating. He got my car in and gave it a diagnostic right away and fixed it one day. Turns out I had a similar issue previously I thought was fixed but this time they had to replace the radiator reservoir as it was "falling apart" and missing a cap causing the radiator to overheat. Once diagnosed, Rob quoted me for $350 including the $150 diagnostic, parts and labor but when finished worked with me on the price and lowered it to $275. I don't know if that is a good price or not but I am glad that it didn't cost a lot more. I am happy to say I drove over 600 miles back to Phoenix and haven't had one issue. Rob even asked me to call him after I drove it to let him know if all is ok or not. Rob understands that if you treat all customers with respect and honesty they will recommend to others and come back themselves! On Friday I dislocated my front bumper when I hit a curb. By Saturday I wasn't sure what I should do or where I should go but then I remembered the Eagle repair shop in Loomis was open today and I have heard good things about them. Definitely, the good things were what they practice this every day. I am an elderly person and was treated with respect and kindness and lo and behold they reattached my fender on the spot. Okay, I'm always skeptical of automotive repair places. My brother in law is a technician (in another area) and has told me some horror stories about some of the people who have been fired from where he has worked in the past. Golden Eagle is the opposite. They are friendly and actually helpful. They don't try and sell you a bunch of extra crap on you car when it doesn't need it. They have checked our codes (for free!) and done oil changes and maintenance checks to keep our cars running. A warning though, since they are so good, they might be really busy. I think you might be able to make an appointment, but you should call to ask. In any case, I think they are work the wait as they do a good job and won't scam you. And in a small town like Loomis, they wouldn't be in business for so long it they did a bad job. read more

I started taking my Toyota 4Runner to Rob and the guys at Golden Eagle a couple of years ago. My 4Runner had a rear window that would no longer roll up or down. The dealer told me that I had a bad relay in the dash and it would cost $1,300 to repair. Rob's guys found a broken wire in the door,spliced it together and it still works great. My truck has gone from 270,000 miles to 340,000 miles and is still reliable as ever. Rob and his guys can be trusted to do exactly what needs to be done at a fair price. I took my truck in for a broken part that caused the check engine light to come on. When I picked up my truck this afternoon Rob told me that he placed the part and everything is fine. When I asked "how much?" His reply was that I'm a great customer and there was no charge. When was the last time an auto repair place told you that???? My friends gave me rave reviews of Rob and his shop, so when I needed 2 new batteries for my truck on an emergency basis, I contacted Rob rather than going to the dealer, thinking it would be less expensive, as Rob assured me. It wasn't. I was charged $648 for parts and labor. The dealer's cost which I checked on afterwards would have been $606 (which included a core deposit of $32). I asked Rob if I should pick up the batteries myself, but Rob said he would do that, and I should just call and have the store charge Rob's account. I assumed he would get a discount and charge me the retail price, which would have been fine, but he charged me more than the retail price. The batteries were installed well and Rob and his helper were friendly, but I feel I was taken advantage of, and will definitely not be using this shop again for anything. Rob said he'd send me the receipt, but after a few days I had to request it and was disappointed to see there was no information on the type of battery or the warranty. read more

Rob and staff are amazing! Went in with what we thought would be a quick fix with less than an hour until closing on a Saturday evening. It ended up not being so easy and between staying after closing on Saturday and first things Monday morning, easily spent 4 hours working on my issue -- then didn't charge me, saying this is the community we live in! They were all professional, kind, and generous in not teasing me too much for the dumb thing I was there for! They even took out dents, cleaned things up, and lent me straps for security. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Awesome owner-We were in Loomis because my stepson son was playing a scrimmage game at Del Oro. We decided to take a look around the town while the team had warm ups. We planned to return in an hour for the game. We stopped off at a local store and forty minutes later the car wouldn't start. We called to see if they would be able to look at it if we had it towed in. The person who answered (I assume was the owner ) asked where we were located and then told us he would be right over. He showed up a few minutes later with one other person. They jumped started the car and he told us what was wrong with it and then also explained why there was a faint rattle all within ten seconds of the car running, I had recently started hearing this rattle and wondered what it was. Very knowledgeable and also a nice guy. He gave us his card, said "no charge and bring it in if you want your starter fixed." We made back in time for the scrimmage thanks to these folks. My fiancé ended up fixing my starter but in the future I will take my car to this place when I need work done by a mechanic... Driving up from Los Angeles to Lake Tahoe for mom;s birthday week with the family, my alternator decides to take a dump. I had no idea where we were, but i did have yelp, So on we went. I told my wife to check the ratings and Golden Eagle Auto came in with the highest ratings. We were about 4 miles away at the time and i was watching my battery die right in front of me. A quarter mile away we lost all electronics, but the engine was still running. We made it and Rob met us ready to help. He and his employees were very helpful and got us out the door very quickly. All I can say is that they have the Best service. I came in and they quoted me for an oil change. 25 bucks, and when I came to pick it up, they had replaced the air filter free of charge! LOOK NO FURTHER, THIS IS THE SHOP FOR YOU! I cannot say enough how grateful I am to have found this place. To say that they are honest and fair is an understatement. I brought my car here a little less than a month ago for an oil change and while I was waiting, the other customers were coming in and out talking about how happy they were with the work done on their vehicles. They seemed to have a real sense of camaraderie with the owner and it was like they were just hanging out talking to a friend. When they were done with my car, I asked them abut how much a tune up would be on my 2005 vehicle. They quoted me a price that was easily $150-250 less than the dealer or other shops around. After I left, I decided to make that appointment and they were able to get me in on my next day off. I dropped it off first thing in the morning and they had it done for me before the end of business that day! Fast forward to a few days ago when Im driving home and hear one of those weird sounds you never want to hear as you're driving. I pulled over and I can't see a flat tire but my car looks really low in the back. Of course, its 7:30 everyone is closed. I was close enough to this shop that I thought I would just park it there and call them in the morning to ask them to take a look at it. When I got there, I was ecstatic to see that they were actually still there, helping another customer. I pulled it up front and they found a BOLT in my tire. They patched it up in no time and told me I would be fine until I could get it in to the tire shop the next day, because I had insurance on my tires as I had only bought them a few months earlier. They told me if I had any problem at all, to give them a call and they would come change it for me. When I asked how much I owed for this? Nothing. Seriously? That went way beyond just good service! I will definitely be going back. My only word of warning is that parking can be a bit tricky. Do not be deterred because this place is worth it!! read more

My car suddenly started flashing its check engine light (which means that there were misfires--really bad for the car) on me when I drove up the I80 on a long road trip. It was making a pretty awful ruckus and I didn't think to bring my own tools with me, so based off of yelp reviews I came to the Golden Eagle. I was a bit nervous--I'm not from Loomis, so I wasn't sure if he'd look at me, a woman from out of town, and try to swindle me. I almost left since it looked rundown, but I stayed, and I'm glad I did. They diagnosed my car for FREE, and since it was a p0300, p0303, p0306 (which meant that there were multiple cylinder misfires, mostly from the companion cylinders 3 and 6) we surmised it was just an ignition coil, since one coil supplies both 3 and 6 in my car. It was an easy fix so he didn't charge me anything. Even topped off my gas and coolant, since both were a little low. Also, If I wanted to, the rate he quoted me for a tune up job was more than reasonable. I'm ASE certified because I like to tinker with my own cars, I've got a bunch of friends who work as mechanics, and I can say that the guy is top notch. One small thing I did notice: the OBDII device that he used looked a bit simple. I'm pretty sure that they don't have the most technologically snazzy equipment. However, I'd much rather go to a place without frills but with brains and heart. read more

We recently moved to Lincoln and needed brakes on our 2013 F150. Went to Golden Eagle due to the great Yelp adds and glad we did! Don't let the humble exterior fool you. These guys are professional, fair and honest! Went in to have brakes replaced. Could hear the front ones grinding. Expected to be sold new rotors/brakes on all 4 tires. Rob came back and stated only the front needed work, back brakes were fine. Price was reasonable, work was exceptional and completed same day! I went to Golden Eagle for the first time yesterday to have my oil changed. I'm from Carmichael but wanted to try to get the job done while my daughter was in her 2 hour Loomis-based sewing class.
