WOW! I was actually pretty impressed with Golden Flame. I love a good hot wing and can appreciate a variety of sauce. The wings were crispy, the sauce was nice and spicy (just like I like it) and packed with flavor. This place is MUCH BETTER than any chain wing place like Wing Stop or Wing Street, you can tell people actually take their time to cook these wings to perfection. I definitely want to give it another shot, maybe during football season or when we have a family get together. The only thing that is concerning is when I placed my order over the phone the guy that took my order didn't say "thank you" or "see you soon" or "good bye" - this is customer experience 101. I tried this for the first time with the family today. We got an order to go and it was pretty good. The chicken pieces are HUUUUUGE! I enjoyed the teriyaki sauce very much. It wasn't too sweet and had the right notes of flavors. However, I did not enjoy the buffalo style sauce I ordered. I'm not sure exactly which one it was, but it was a sweet heat. For my personal tastes I expect that tangy vinegary acidic bite with cooling garlicky ranch all in one delicious messy bite. This did not deliver. Oh well! Such a long story, so I will make this quick. We go at 9 pm on a Friday expecting it to not be too busy (us old people are usually in bed by 9). They were SO busy that we could not get a table right away. We order...and as it normally goes there, the food is ready literally in minutes...but we had to wait for 30 minutes for a table. Needless to say we were kind of upset, not at the establishment but at the people having the audacity to sit around, enjoying a nice Friday out, having completed their meal but still enjoying their conversation...therefore not removing themselves from their table so that others could sit down and enjoy their meal. Once a table freed up we hopped on it and I kindly asked the staff to make our order fresh since by then it was cold. Not only did they make it fresh, but they also up'd the qty of wings without us even asking ANNNNNND brought us the MOST delicious order of funnel fries I have ever had. We go to this place a lot, and I even buy the bottled sauces to take home because the Colorado Fancy and the Golden Flame sauces are way too good so it was nice to be taken care of when the staff knew the dilemma we were in. Thank goodness they have great customer service and try to make things right on the spot if aware of the issue. I have recommended this place to tons of people in the Southlands area and will continue to do so because the food is so good, and the people are even better! read more

I'm kind of confused on what has changed in this restaurant. The first few times I went there everything was exceptional. Now I wouldn't go back there even if I was paid to. I don't know how hard it is to not over burn chicken nuggets because that's basically what a boneless wing is. My fries, I asked for garlic and they put some weird other seasoning on it and they're half cooked and half burnt. Caution when you go there the food does taste good when it is cooked correctly but I wouldn't waste your money 10 boneless wings a beverage and some fries is nearly $20 that's expensive especially with what's going on with the economy. BEST WINGS in Colorado. If you have a better suggestion...let's be real, there are none out there :) This place is awesome. It used to be a tiny shop with just a few tables but in the last few years, they have renovated to create an awesome space to watch sports, drink beer, and eat delicious wings! Now the wings, they are HUGE. Usually I can down at least a dozen wings at BDubs. But after only 5 here, I was stuffed! Also the wings are DOUSED in sauce, dripping in deliciousness. There are many choices for sauce and all of them are good, but I highly suggest the Golden Flame sauce, it's the best of the bunch. Also, what a bonus. Their fries are the BOMB! This place is fantastic. It dawned on me today that I have been coming here since this restaurant was half the size. There is no doubt why they expanded, the wings are among the best on this side of town. There is a small bar, but it is usually full. That's ok they have tables and a patio, and I have never had to wait for a seat. The drinks are solid. Back to the wings, they are great, and there are enough flavors to keep things interesting. If wings aren't your thing, they have an interesting assortment of other choices, like rocky mountain oysters (hint: they aren't seafood). I do really enjoy this place. read more

Ate here with a group from work and I'm perplexed reading the previous reviews. I ordered the bone-in chicken special with beach fries. The chicken wings were decidedly chewy, dry and were drowning in sauce...probably to compensate for the texture. The fries were a little under cooked/soggy and lacked decent flavor or seasoning. I have eaten here many times and love the servers and gluten free prep. I would have emailed the store to check about their gluten free fryer today, but there is no email listed on their site that I could find. If you order by phone you have to stand in the same order line to pick up your TO GO order... defeats the purpose. I went to the Golden Flame this evening. I ordered two 6 piece combos. The chicken was very salty, fatty enlarged, and chewy. They were also dried out.The fries were salty and soggy. I ordered garlic fries and did not get them. The food that was given to use was not even edible. I contacted the manager to express my frustrations. I was told to come back, switch out the food, and no refund, will be given.I told her I was unable to come back this evening. She told me to keep the food, until tomorrow and bring it in. That is gross. I took pictures of the nasty food and then threw it on the trash were it belongs. It's disappointing , that the Golden Flame does business in this manner. We came in on a Saturday night an hour before closing. The atmosphere is kind of like a sports bar, plenty of TVs and sports team decor. We both ordered the wing meals with the golden flame sauce. Let me just start by saying that the wings were AMAZING. They were cooked to a perfect crispness and had no rubbery consistency whatsoever. In addition to the preparation of the wings, the sauce was at the perfect heat level not too hot but spicy enough! Another thing that Golden Flame has to offer is the different seasonings for French fries. I tried the classic while my husband got the beach fries. Both were equally delicious.
