I was in town for my firm's holiday party on 12/9/23 and decided, last minute, to get a regular natural manicure rather than going with my emergency press-ons thatI had bought. I texted the number (per the outgoing voice message) and was so lucky to get a same day appointment with Natalie. I am still completely blown away at what an amazing job Natalie did. I have very VERY dry cuticles and hands and I have never had nice natural nails. Natalie had her work cut out for her and my entire experience with her has made this the best manicure I have ever had. I kid you not, every time I've had a regular manicure, the polish chipped the same day and my cuticle ended up looking scraggly within a week. This was not the case with Natalie. She is clearly an expert at her craft (and p.s. she only does regular manicures). In addition to taking such meticulous care of my cuticles and nails, Natalie was extremely knowledgeable and taught me how to take care of my nails and what to look for in a good manicurist. It is now 5 days later and I can't believe that my nails have barely chipped! They have lasted through a night of hard partying and all the hustle and bustle of two plane-bound trips since 12/9 - AMAZING. The best healthy manicure for your cuticles in the world! I have traveled all throughout the US and throughout the world having to squeeze in manicures and pedicures here and there just to maintain them. I have had some good manicures and some bad ones. Last September, I found this salon and had a shellac manicure. When I got home to Nashville, I noticed something very different. My cuticles didn't crack. I had no hang nails and my manicure looked brand new 3 weeks after and I didn't want to get them replaced. So I went back today as I am in town for a week and asked her for her secret. She doesn't cut the cuticles. After she prepared my nails for the polish, I could actually feel my nails breathing. Most salons leave the nails feeling coated and suffocated. Thoa is the only one that knows how to manage the nail cuticle. She is very transparent about which method is the healthiest and which ones are not. Her name is Thoa and she took out her time by sitting with me to get to hear me out and where I lived and what brought me in! Her skills are undeniable! She gave the best manicure before the gel!!! I work in nearby Century City and was in need of a good manicure and pedicure. My usual frequented nail salon was a bit too far off for me and I would have never make on time before they closed (7:00 pm). There is just too much traffic coming from Beverly Hills to Hollywood around 5:00 pm. I perused through a lot of reviews of local nail salons and called a couple of them asking if they had room for a walk-in. The two places I called did not have any room at all and asked if I wanted to come in the next day. I declined these offers. Finally, I decided to call Golden Nail which was only 5 minutes away from my job. A nice lady answered and told me to come on in. Parking was easy for me. I was able to find a spot right in front of the place. There was no one in the nail salon except for the owner named Thoa. She was so welcoming! I really felt like I was visiting an aunt's house. I opted for the gel manicure and she went to work. Wow, I've never seen someone take so much time on my nails. She really removed all the cuticles around my nails and they were absolutely perfect. PERFECT. This was my second time getting a gel manicure (the first time being in Baltimore, MD). The lady in Baltimore did NOT remove any cuticle, but I did not know they were supposed to. Then I came to Golden Nail and realized that gel manicure was the worst ever. My nails were perfect and I had never seen my cuticles looks so clean and beautiful. She literally took about two hours on my nails. Lisa did my pedicure which was also amazing. These women actually care about you here! I went yesterday for a new gel manicure and Thoa hugged me and kissed me. I brought along a coworker and she was very appreciative. She even cut up watermelon and served us something to drink while we got our nails done. Seriously, I felt like I was a family member's house just catching up. WHO DOES THAT AT A NAIL SALON??? When I moved to LA from NY, I was desperately looking for a salon that didn't rush me out of my chair and chop my cuticles! When my friend recommended Golden Nail almost 9 years ago, I fell in love with Natalie! She takes her time with my nails, I'm a cuticle bitter and it's not easy keeping up with the skin on my hands! I love that it's a family run business and never rush you out! The prices for Beverly Hills are great and you always feel welcomed when you walk in there. If you need to get waxed go to Ania right in the salon! It's over before I know it and I don't feel a thing, well I do, but it's over so quick! She's the best! I will be coming here for as long as they are open! If you've had a bad experience chances are the person you got your nails done with no longer works there, I would 100% recommend that you go back and give it a try. =) read more

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my experience here. I tried this place after reading all of the glowing reviews and I felt it did not live up to the praise in any capacity. I went in for a fill (I called on Saturday and earliest they could get me in for an appt with my schedule was Friday at 6 o'clock, presumably because it's small and popular) and to replace two broken acrylics. The appointment took 2 hours, being the longest fill I've had in my life by quite a bit. She took her time on each nail but somehow the manicure still ended up very lumpy and uneven. One of the first things she said to me was a personal story wherein she used the word 'r*tarded' which made me uncomfortable. She continued to bring up sensitive issues and criticize things like abortion and feminism which I felt was too bold. Really pushing the limits of small talk... felt very taken aback In the end, I did not like my manicure but I had already been there so long + felt fairly uncomfortable + had plans so I decided to just pay and go. It ended up being $52 (not incl tip, not gel), which I do not consider "moderate price" as Yelp puts it for a fill + 2 replaced nails. I'm a student so that price for a mani I didn't even like hit me kind of hard. I had high hopes for this place :( Will not be going back read more

I am an ex-Beauty Editor and so have had the privilege of having experienced just about every type of beauty treatment there is at the highest level, so I feel well qualified to write this review! Admittedly, I only discovered this salon by accident. I was visiting a friend in town who was staying at The Peninsula Hotel across the street and they directed her to this salon, so we caught up over a mani-pedi here. It is a charming little place, nothing trendy or over the top, but I have to give it a 5 star rating because they excel in the only criteria that really matter in a good Nail Salon: Cleanliness, Execution and Accessibility. 1. Cleanliness: Never, EVER go to a nail salon that features those "massage chairs" with hoses and built-in wash basins for your feet. They are bacteria farms and you are really at risk for a major staph infection. Believe me. You do not want to go near those. Golden Nail uses old-school plastic lined foot baths (the most hygienic and comfortable) and their instruments, surfaces and surroundings are impeccable. I actually bought mine there and bring them with me each time and so should you. 2. Execution: Some nail technicians are either skilled at the cuticle work or the varnishing, but rarely both. I have had 4 visits to this salon and have never had the same technician twice and my cuticles and polish were perfect, every time. Even when I messed it up on the way out, it was repaired cheerfully and flawlessly. 3. Accessibility: Sometimes I want an early morning (or late night) appointment at the last minute. I have called at all hours and even though they are always busy with Regular clientele (and a steady stream of visitors from The Peninsula) they always manage to fit me in and are honest about wait times. I respect that. Metered parking is always available on Santa Monica Blvd and those meters take cards. Warning: If you want a portrait of Katy Perry on your nails, highlighted with rainbow bling, this is not the place for you. If, however, you'd like a classic (or even contemporary) manicure in lovely surroundings at a great price, this is your new nail salon. Enjoy. read more

One of the best nail salons I have been to in a really long time! I highly recommend going to Thua...she is a gem! Super sweet and really takes her time with my manicures. My cuticles always look neat and the polish super shiny. I try and go to Golden Nail every two weeks...I would say my manicure lasts about a week and a half. Every customer who is there is a regular...all the girls know each other by name. $15 for a manicure is awesome and you get a nice little hand/arm massage. They have a great selection of OPI and Essie nail colors. They take appointments and also walk-ins. I had a gel manicure done and asked the technician to match a photo of ombré white/French nails, and she experimented with a few different shades on her nails before painting mine. This is my new FAVORITE nail salon. I just moved to the area, and I have been driving an HOUR to see my tried-and-true regular nail salon - until I found this SUPER salon. They take EARLY APPOINTMENTS (from 7:30am!), so I can get in there for a manicure before work (thanks, Thua!!). Where else do you get personal service like that? The quality is EXCELLENT, Thua and Natalie very attentive to detail (nails perfectly shaped), they perform miracles. I have had my nails done by the other manicurists, as well, and my nails always turn out looking great. The prices are reasonable, the shop is family-run and lovely, they are personable and professional. You will love it. By the way, in my own experience, I have never had to wait, they have taken me on time for my appointments. Also, the location is great - right across the street from the Peninsula Hotel. P.S. I found out they were voted "BEST OF THE BEST" and "BEAUTY BARGAIN" by ALLURE MAGAZINE for 3 years, and I am not surprised! Was referred here by a friend after countless disappointing experiences at other salons in Beverly Hills. I have been disappointed so many times by almost every salon in the area. When I got to golden nail, I was surprised by how clean, comfortable, and peaceful the experience was. They only spoke English at the salon, which was very refreshing and comforting. They used new tools, which was great. The owner even recommended a specific brand of polish she believed works best, in the exact shade I had chosen from another brand. She was very honest and kind. She explained the importance of how important the maintenance of the cuticle is WITHOUT CUTTING it. Most places cringe when you ask them not to cut the cuticle, but her technique makes the nail bed grow and look great right away. I will definitely be back soon! But anyway, as I entered the shop I immediately noticed it was beautiful, clean, well decorated, comfortable and serene. There's great energy here.... When a very charming and sweet lady named Thao greeted me. .. it became quite clear why the energy in this place was so lovely. Not only was her shop already closed when she took me. But she made my toes look brand new very quickly... and guess what!?...She absolutely refused to even accept a tip from me...What?!... What an amazingly kind woman!! I urge you to try this shop. Walking into this salon feels like home. I first stopped by well over 15 years ago now since I worked across the street. During those years, I'd stop by for a mani/pedi, and Thoa and her ladies would feed me and pamper me and gossip with me. I moved away after grad school, and sometimes I won't be back for years.
