I ordered Golden pavilion from my Job last night and honestly it one of the worse experiences I've ever had when ordering and eating Chinese food! The food was 15 minutes late which took over a hour to arrive. I called the restaurant to find out what was going on with my order and the manager was very unprofessional and rude and told me it was only 15 mins late it wasn't a big "deal". when I did get the food finally it was cold and looked like it was just coming out the freezer. I order delivery from this establishment on a regular basis, but decided it was bad enough they were working Christmas and decided to order pickup. Busy and organized initially, but downhill upon leaving. Missing items, wrong order, and top it off I went back to correct order and the guy at front desk was a %^*+h. Never again and the 4 different couples that were at our house(all JUP and VOT couples) will gladly go elsewhere. Not just Xmas tradition BUT everyday. I was impressed when I had lunch here..I pass by this place all the time thinking that it's traditional Chinese restaurant never thinking of ordering dim sum. First thing first ..never judge a book by its cover! I've tried many dim sum place so my expectations were pretty high. The restaurant was quiet with us being the only patrons there. When we mention that we were dining in, it seemed as though our server did not want to wait on us, she sat us all the way in the back and started mumbling in her language which we didn't understand. I've read the past reviews mentioning how unpleasant the service was..my goal was to change that..so upon ordering I smiled at her and said my please and thankyous.. Glancing at the menu was a bit overwhelming so we ended up getting a bit of everything. They didn't have house special fried rice but we ended up with Chinese sausage fried rice..turned out to be be quite tasty..there was a ton left over! We ordered signature dim sum plates, I enjoyed their shrimp rice paste but could of had a better sauce. We also ordered chive dumplings as well as siu mai and turnip cake. The cake could of been crispier but was good. We didn't finish all of our food so there was plenty to take home. Our server came back to refill our water and once again i greeted her everytime with a smile .. finally she smile back, I was growing on her. It was a nice meal..overstuffed super satisfied. My last rating was just one star after a dinner many months ago. Since that time they have posted signs and mailings advising new management. In the last few months we have had a lunch and twice take-out from here. There is no doubt the food has greatly improved and with new ownership I feel a responsibility to update my previous one star review. TLDR version: good place to get your dim sum craving if you don't want to drive down to Miami. Overall experience is 3.5 stars. Our group of 5 arrived at 12. We were the only ones there. I guess we beat the lunch rush. Not until 12:30 did more people show up. Service was great when we were the only ones there, but as more tables were filled, service did get slower. Overall service is 3/5. We ordered: Shumai: it was fresh and not salty like some places you can tell this is homemade. The shumai is a must try dish here. 4/5 Shrimp fried ball: it has the right texture and not soft. Our table loves it. 4/5 The vegetable shrimp dumpling: it has more veggies than shrimp, the balance is off. Would not recommend, 2/5. Shrimp dumpling: the shrimp has zero seasoning, it was plain shrimp wrapped in dumpling wraps. 1/5 would not recommend. Both dumplings have the tendency of falling apart when you try to pick it up with chopsticks, so there's a chance it may be frozen or just overcooked. Steam roast pork bun: the bun/bao is soft and smooth, not a fan of the pork filling though. 3/5 (They were sold out of the baked bbq pork bun since saturday morning) Steamed shrimp rice paste: just like the shrimp dumpling, the shrimp has zero taste, and also not fresh. The sauce cannot make up for the shrimp and the rice paste. Would not recommend. 1/5. Off the main menu we ordered: Boneless bbq ribs: it was good, our table loves it. But to me it was too sweet, so 3/5 for me. Pan fried noodles triple delight: the noodles were crispy and soften as the sauce cover it, just like any pan fried noodles, the sauce were not salty like some restaurants. 3/5. Chicken chow fun (maybe mei fun, I forgot what my friend ordered): not a fan of these dishes, but I did try it, and to my surprise it was really tasty. 3/5. We were too full to get any dim sum dessert. Key take away is to not order shrimp dumplings or shrimp rice paste. Must try is the shumai and the fried shrimp ball. Note: you have to ask for the chili sauce as they don't leave it on the table. Same for the sweet chili sauce that pairs with the fried shrimp ball. If compared by a 30 miles radius with a few other dim sum restaurants in west palm beach, Golden Pavilion would be a top contender. But if you broaden up the zone to Miami, then I am afraid Golden Pavilion will have problems to even compete for top 3. read more

We come here quite a bit and service and food have both been awesome. Dim sum is done well. We often get the chive and shrimp dumplings as well as the turnip cake both which are tasty and consistent. Shrimp dumplings are also a classic as are fried shrimp balls. We had an issue with the shu mai being sour once but after that we never had problems with it. You should definitely give the dim sum here a try! As for dishes, broccoli chicken is a classic, goes really well with rice. Mushroom beef is also a great dish for you rice lovers. Another dish we love getting is the "beef he fun" which is a chinese noodle dish except the noodles are more wide and made from rice. I love how the dish is flavorful with a good ratio of noodles to beef. The beef is tender and the noodles are cooked all the way through so that they aren't all stuck together, it really allows the flavors to seep into the noodles. Parking and seating space usually are not an issue with this restaurant, so if you're looking for a bite of Chinese, check this place out. read more

FINALLY found a decent Chinese restaurant for delivery in the PBG area. Was looking for something different for dinner. Wary of trying another Chinese place and being disappointed after missing Mr. Zhang's. This had good reviews and it did not disappoint. Everything was good - the soups and the main courses ranging from orange beef to chicken lo mein to mixed veggies. This used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant in Jupiter. But I recently ordered a large amount of food from there for a big family event well over $100. The food was so so disappointing. From general tso's chicken to their specialty Beijing chicken to sweet and sour chicken and garlic chicken. The veggie lo mein also practically had no vegetables in it either. I'm not sure if they're under New Management or ownership but what a disappointment. I will never come here again. What a shame. read more

We went for lunch on Christmas Day which was the wrong time to go. There was only one table available and the wait staff was running like crazy. It took 20 minutes before someone came to get our drink order. I do low carb and have very limited choices on any Chinese menu. My go to is egg foo young. They told me that they were not serving egg foo young on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. I had to come up with a substitute. I ordered chicken with broccoli. I planned on meeting my date for lunch, and wanted to try Golden Pavilion because I heard they have good Dim Sum. Being that she's from Northern China, this was one place she had been before and didn't mind so much. It's a fairly small (but clean and tidy) place. Maybe only two tables when we went in, older regular crowd you could tell. We both ordered lunch specials that come with soup and eggroll, and 3 different Dim Sums to try. They were ok, kind of bland, but the chicken feet were great. My understanding is someone batch makes Dim Sum and wholesales it to Chinese restaurants in the area. I ordered the garlic chicken. It just tasted bland, but maybe I'm spoiled from other Asian restaurants in the area. Overall was an ok experience, and two lunch specials and 3 orders of Dim sum was only $28. read more
