I ordered the Egg Foo Young combination yesterday. A horrible experience because every time I order this meal I have to tell then do not burn my eggs or onions. Texas does not have good Chinese food period! It's not like the east coast......I called the restaurant back to tell them that there are plastic objects in my Egg Foo Young. The guy on the phone kept telling me that the use plastic spoons for eating and they include them with take out. I kept asking him how did plastic objects get into my omelette? Shit went on for a good 10 minutes. He never gave me an answer and told me to call DoorDash. DoorDash didn't make the food and the bag was sealed! The gravy was like water. Place sucks! read more

Came here with the girlfriend to try out a new place. Started with the edamame, tasted really fresh and was great . I ordered the General Tso's chicken, there was so much food I couldn't finish it and had plenty to take home. I also had a bottle of the Vertikal Riesling. It was sweet, but not too much and had me feeling pretty good at the end haha. My only issue was that the waiter never filled our cups, it wasnt until the end when we were almost done and had to flag him down. My food was not good at all tonight. The egg rolls were gummy and mushy. Jack in the Box has much better egg rolls. I ordered cashew chicken. It was just ok along with the fried rice. The wontons in the wonton soup were mushy and the filling tasted weird. The broth, however, was ok. The sugar biscuits did not have enough sugar on them. Additionally, you can't dine in. This was unfortunately a disappointing experience. Compared to other local Chinese restaurants, this one is pricier. After reading the reviews on here, though, I thought, "Hey, it's Saturday night, pay week. Let's splurge!" Really wish I wouldn't have. I will say that the only pro is that everything tasted fresh, which can be hit or miss at some places. That's about where it stops. We got 4 entrees and 4 egg rolls and it came to almost $70. The amount of food for that price was certainly lacking, and the amount of meat in the dishes (chicken/shrimp) was also lacking, especially at that price point. The fried rice looked like white rice soaked in a few dashes of soy sauce but not fried at all. For the price, especially living in the Garland/Rowlett area, there are many other choices out there that we will try next time. read more

Decided to get some Red Curry to go. AVOID THEIR CURRIES AT ALL COSTS. This is the most disgusting curry I have ever had. Based on the consistency and flavor of their red, I would never get any of their curries. Just, No. Avoid. If I could give it 0 Stars I would. So watery, chicken tasted strange, vegetables were chopped thick and large, barely any flavor. Asked for the lunch portion ($7.50) instead of dinner portion ($10.95) and it came in a tray instead of a cup and lid separate from rice, first for me having it together. Lunch portion comes with 1 egg roll, meh. I did enjoy their Krab Rangoons which came with 6 large triangle wontons for $5.95. It comes with their sweet n sour sauce which tastes more ketchupy than sweet or sour. Would rather eat alone than with sauce and wish it wasn't essentially a $1 for 1 wonton which is kind of pricy for appetizers. Also purchased their Sugar Biscuits ($3.95). Not worth it. Absolutely nothing special. Wouldn't be half bad with honey or chocolate sauce but they don't have those. Really just tastes like standard biscuits rolled in sugar (not well coated). We wanted to do a marathon of an entire season of tv on my day off, and knew chinese good would be a good choice for a take out meal that we could snack on all day. This place was closest to where we lived, and I knew we had gotten a coupon in the mail, so we gave it a go. I ordered over the phone, and the gentleman advised that I could still do the lunch portions at the time it was. Excited that we were getting a deal, we also ordered an appetizer to go. He said it would be ready in 10 minutes. He took my phone number, but never asked my name. We got there and there were other people in line at the counter. However, a friendly male said hello and said my order to me. I was impressed that he just knew. For two meals and crab rangoons, our total came out to around 20 bucks. We took the food home and fell in love with the cute little containers the food came in, with dividers so we didn't need to get out extra plates to put our food on. The food was delicious, and both meals were just as good the next day when we ate leftovers. I'm probably one of the pickiest people when it comes to food. I'm live in Garland, but I'm from New England, and I've had a hard time finding a good Chinese restaurant...until I found this place. Golden Pot has some of the best food I've had. Technically, it's the only place I order Chinese food from, and my favorite food is Chinese food. The only thing is sometimes I ask them to not forget the hot oil sauce cups and soy sauce packets, because it's delicious on their food, but they forget it a lot. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was a combination of Chinese, Japanese & Thai. It was so strange/cool to flip through the pages and one page was your standard Chinese food, the next Thai, etc. We got orders of general tso, spicy panang & mango mochi ice cream. The general tso was very meaty and just the right amount of spice to it. My spicy panang had a nice tang of curry and was delicious. Solid food! Whenever my dad and I are in the mood for our combination fried rice extra spicy every couple of weeks, it hits hard for us (in a great way.) Definitely recommend it! Seems like it's pickup only at this time, but well worth it. Golden Pot in Rowlett is a hidden surprise! We tried it last week for the first time. It's right next to Opa's (Greek) and Amelia's (Mexican) but don't get distracted by the tried-and-true...take a chance! I loved the interior. It's not too brightly lit or too overly decorated...very calm, with comfy booths. And then our food arrived. My seafood soup tasted fresh and crisp, and my Bear's orange chicken was among the best I've ever had. I'd say that it definitely approaches PF Chang in quality, while the prices are much lower. This place is Awesome. I have been here twice so far with a order Togo and dine in. So far I have gotten the chicken Lomein and the Orange chicken I love both of them. This is my new favorite place to go an if your ever near it you need to try it out. First visit got the chicken lomein Togo it was really good and fresh.
