Are they going to open back up,ever? We really loved their food and have not been able to find anything around here that we like.

I ordered won ton soup, house fried rice and ribs off the bone. The soup was an odd color that tasted like fake chicken soup with WonTons that were heavy, doughy and barely filled with anything. The house fried rice had very little anything but rice. Try and find pieces of shrimp or pork and you'd be hard pressed to find much if any. It tasted like it was fried in old oil. The ribs were little pieces soaking in sweet sauce. Really awful. I hate writing about a restaurant like this but people need to be warned! I ordered delivery so don't know the ambiance. read more

I'm sorry but this was the worst meal I've ever had from a Chinese restaurant for take out. I praised this restaurant in the past but the quality has gone downhill. This order was Spring rolls (tasted stale), Pan fried dumplings (too doughy...) and Moo shu pork. The pork dish tasted mostly of soy sauce and there was hardly any pork to be seen. For Chinese food in South FL, this is one of the better ones I've had. Usually will get their lunch specials. Delivery is always on time and piping hot. My go-to is their general Tso chicken but change it up from time to time. The pork fried rice taste like it's supposed to compared to other places where it's terrible. Steamed dumplings are a must have. In the area they are definitely my pick of choice for Chinese takeout. read more

Golden star on northlake is our go to for Chinese takeout. It's a super nice family and the food is OFF THE CHAIN We have ordered a dozen times and it's been GREAT every time. Their sauces aren't all goopy and runny. The orange beef was crispy and the sauce was a good tight glaze. I can't brag on them enough. I don't LOVE the egg rolls so I get spring rolls usually. The front desk staff at the hotel recommended this restaurant for Chinese delivery. I generally haven't had great experiences with delivery - the food always seems to arrive cold, rubbery, too greasy, and too salty - however, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience with Golden Star. First of all, the delivery man was friendly and carried a credit card machine, which made for a pleasant and convenient exchange. The food was the next surprise. The portions were larger than expected and tasted pretty good! The steamed dumplings were excellent - soft with a flavorful filling. The chicken and broccoli with rice was also tasty. The broccoli was crunchy and the chicken was moist. Not greasy at all. I would definitely order from them again! read more

Still going on the support your local restaurants, this was not one of my good experiences by far. I had ordered diner here and unfortunately became violently ill afterwards. The next day when I was feeling a little better, I decided to call the place of business and speak with the owner. Rather than to listen to my experience , he went on to say that he never gets sick from his food he eats everyday. The food is made fresh everyday and purchased very good quality food too. Instead of being concerned that I got sick he insinuated it must be a virus or something as it is going around. I told him that I had not been ill before his food and that it was quite a coincidence that right after eating his food I was in the bathroom all night being sick. I asked him if he cooked with MSG and he assured me he didn't. Eventually, after a semi- long conversation, he decided he was going to credit me for at least half of my order. I thought OK that was fair since I cant return what I ate. Here I am about two months later and I have yet to see that credit on my Card. I guess there is nothing to be said for a mans word or Customer Service here . Needless to say I will never eat here again or ever recommend this place to anyone I know and love. So I dont usually have high expectations for Chinese/Cantonese take-out. There is a base line of passable. Tonight was my first time ordering from Golden Star. I had the dish titles "Happy Family" chicken, beef, pork, shrimp (16/20's here folks) and surimi, with broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, sno peas, onion, baby corn and water chestnuts, The vegetables were cooked PERFECTLY!!! yes they still had a nice snap, the broccoli was a beautiful color green. The sauce was ok, nothing amazing, but the vegetables made the dish. I also had the egg drop soup which was a bit less eggy than I like but good enough. The orange chicken looked very good and the sweet and sour chicken was very traditional in that the sauce was delivered separately so the chicken stayed crispier. All in all the delivery was fast and courteous. The driver had a handheld credit card swiper so no giving the CC info over the phone. All in all a really good experience. Would do again. read more

I don't know how long ago reviewer Stacy H went to this place, but the first and only time I visited this place was 4 months ago, and I was utterly disgusted. The sweet & sour pork consisted of lumps of hard dry pork and lumps of fat in a soft doughy breading. The house special fried rice was visibly different batches that had been thrown in together, some dark and dry and the other moister. If they had dine in, I would be suspecting that I had leftovers from peoples plates! I have NEVER in my life before thrown out an entire order of food, but I have never, ever, anywhere received such an order. Had it been dine it, I would have definitely demanded my money back. Without a doubt, the best Chinese take-out in Palm Beach County. Have been hear over a hundred times and am consistently impressed. One of my favorites is the Egg Foo Young. Weve been ordering take out (delivery) 'a lot' from here since we moved into the area over 2 years ago and not once been disappointed!!! It all started the day we were moving in all our furniture etc, were exhausted and didn't want to have yo cook for all those that helped us. The food is always great and quite a step above all other typical chinese take out places i e experienced. Everyone of our guests we've entertained with this food has loved it too. Love this place! Used to order from a different Chinese food place but got bad food a few times so switched to golden star. Good is great (probably my favorite fried rice ever!) and service is fast. Also, it's a great value. We get two combo platters for $18 and they last through several meals (includes chicken, rice, soup, and eggroll). Only complaint is that my hubby always wants to general tso to be spicier, and it's pretty mild even after requested to be hot. He still likes it though! read more

Ordered using their online system. Received confirmation text and confirmation number. Order never showed up. When we called, they just said "Oh well, no order. Are you sure you ordered?" Had my lunch there during lunch break. Lunch combo is only around 6.8 and will come with choice of soup, soda or an egg roll. The portion is very good relative to its price and will definitely fill you up . I had ordered chicken with broccoli as my lunch and it was delicious ! Chicken was soft and tender while broccoli was cooked just the right amount (cooked but crispy with good flavors). The rice was definitely the highlight of my visit . The food is very good. Especially the general Taos chicken that tastes sweet and spicy. They have very healthy dishes too! For example the steamed mix vegetables. The serving size and food is great. Quick Delivery, fresh crunchy veggies, good service

I would never spend my money at Golden Star Restaurant in Bremerton Washington again. My family orders food from this restaurant at a minimum 3 times a month plus for special occasions - birthdays-Valentine day (my wife loves the food). There are three adults - 1 teenager and a ten year old in my household. Each time we order for the family the bill runs over 55.00 - so 55.00 x's 3 x's 12 equals quite a sum of money. On Valentine day 2018, i ordered dinner for my wife and i - it came to 32.00 and some change - i asked for a extra container of hot mustard and was told - that i would be charged 30 cents - i told the cashier that my bill was over 32.00 and you can't give me a container of hot mustard?" - she responded by saying " this is a business and everything cost money" . I had paid for the meal so i left vowing never to spend another dollar at that restaurant. The next day i decided to talk with the owner and i thought he would apologize for the lack of customer service by the cashier -to my surprise (sic) he informed me that because minimum wage have increased over the years but his prices has not - he felt justified in charging the 30 cents for the hot mustard - he offered to pay me the 30 cents for the hot mustard - i could not believe this business owner could justify charging 30 cents for a hot mustard pack and lose over a 1000.00 plus tips a year - i would never spend my money there again. read more

not happy with this place at all!! i work across the street and order from here often. they do deliver so they can take cc over the phone and have for me in the past. well not today i just tried to order and pay for it over they phone because my friend was going to pick it up for me and was told no they would not accommodate me and would rather me add more food to add to my bill just to meet the delivery requirement- basically $10 EXTRA without the tip!!! poor customer service. will not use them anymore especially with ninja sushi right next door! read more

THIS IS NOT A RESTAURANT. Take out only, though there are two tiny tables, one of which had their little boy sitting on it. Bottled water and soda only, because for take out who cares?. Food is pretty good. Had their wonton soup, which was excellent (big al dente wontons, tasty soup) and their Seafood Delight (smallish shrimp, lots of phony crab, mushrooms and very well prepared vegetables). Companion had competent but greasy sesame chicken. We both felt like we were stoned, from the enormous amount of MSG. Probably good for take out, but the the yelp reviews are very deceptive. It's just a little Chinese take-out joint buried in a small and very uninviting stripmall. Tables were dirty. I asked for a small wonton soup and got a large, which I had to pay for. There are far better Chinese restaurants in town (Mr. Zhang's, China Pavilion). I really don't get these reviews. read more
