Went back again and he tells me to take it to a general mechanic to figure out if I need a tie rod or not. Anyways I just saw Shack and he let me know my bearings in my axle are bad, yeah the one I got from AutoZone. So he basically told me to replace the axle first then come back for an alignment. I was surprised to hear from the two workers that assisted me with my vehicle inspection form that not only do they have to work on the holiday but also do NOT receive holiday pay. I have a regular job and work a second job to supplement my income to be able to afford PG&E, rising gas costs, and groceries so I can understand but it's just surprising to hear how some owners treat their workers. Holiday pay is something that should be given to workers. It's just the bare minimum. Anyway I'm thankful for the folks that helped me. As soon as I parked, one of the technicians came over to greet me. I told him I was there for an oil change, and he asked if it was my first time visiting. When I told him no, he asked if I wanted the same service as last time. I said yes, and he replied, "Have a seat in the lobby, and someone will be right with you." I really appreciated that he already knew my service history and got straight to the point. It made the check-in process quick and easy. I waited in the lobby for no more than three minutes before my name was called. That actually caught me off guard because I had forgotten they already had my information in their system. The advisor confirmed the service I wanted and let me know it would take no more than 30 minutes, which I thought was a very reasonable wait time. The lobby is on the smaller side, but that's not a big deal since they only service three or four cars at a time. There was a TV to watch while waiting, along with complimentary self-serve water, which was a nice touch. The only part of my visit that left me with mixed feelings was at checkout. After my oil change was finished, the technician asked me when I had last had my brakes serviced. She mentioned that my brakes felt unusual when she was moving my car. Since I had my brakes done about a year and a half ago, her comment made me wonder if something was actually wrong. I asked how much a brake inspection would cost, and she explained the price and mentioned it also included a tire rotation and would only add another 30 to 40 minutes. Based on what she told me, I agreed to have it done because I didn't want to take any chances. When everything was finished, she told me my brakes were completely fine. While I was relieved nothing was wrong, I couldn't help but feel like I had been talked into an additional service that I probably didn't need. I'm not saying she intentionally tried to mislead me, but the way the conversation was presented made it seem like there was likely an issue with my brakes, and that concern is what convinced me to authorize the inspection. I think the experience would have felt much better if, after finding nothing wrong, there had been some acknowledgment that the concern turned out to be unfounded whether that was waiving or discounting the inspection or simply apologizing for the unnecessary worry. Instead, I left feeling like I had paid for a service based on a possible issue that didn't actually exist.

For first time users you have to create an account and input your information as well as the vehicle details including the vin number. A staff will approach you and help with the process. Next, leave the keys in the car and go to their waiting area. The waiting area has indoor and outdoor seating, indoor seats has like 8-10 chairs. The place is clean, with one bathroom I did not use. The process was fast, took longer than I expected due to I was like 3rd or 4th in line in a Friday early morning. It was actually faster than my usual dealership experience with my other car. Since I have been going to Vallejo Car Care Clinic for maybe four years, primarily for a 2001 BMW CI, and I have always been pleased with their customer service, this car shop (Gil, in particular) needs a long-deserved shout-out. Gil is super attentive and very honest. Less than a week ago, I took my son's car to Gil. It is a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid that needed a catalytic converter. Rather than take the job, which costs a decent amount of money, Gil asked me, considering the age and mileage of the car, if we really wanted to proceed with the repair. He said the Honda has two catalytic converters and, while the second unit did not register as defective, there is a good chance it will soon. So, we decided against fixing it. In my book, that is a remarkable trait for an auto shop owner to possess. He will not say what the customer wants to hear, like how soon the car will be ready, just to get their business. When he says the car will be ready at a certain time, it usually is. In fact, I do not remember him ever missing a completion date/time.
