I understand that maybe Dr. Ding could still be with a patient prior to my appointment, but nope, I'm just kept waiting in an empty waiting room for a long time. She came off as cold and artificial. She told me that the procedure I needed to do takes more than one appointment visit, but she did a sloppy job that she didn't target the area thoroughly. It basically barely made a difference even after two sessions. I think she does this so you can book more appointments and pay more than you need to. This is really from my experience, but it looks like her reviews have gotten worse over time. I went to her many years ago and never reviewed her until now.

Jessy was knowledgeable about skin of color which is why I sought him out and really seemed to care about the outcome. He made me feel comfortable and there was no embarrassment felt because of his professionalism. It's been about 2 years now and I have been continually seeing Jessy; my back looks great and I have my confidence back! Would HIGHLY recommend - a lot of guys in NYC are scam artists but not him.

His staff told me I can get the oral antibiotic only but not the topical one, I asked why and she said because its covered in mu insurance, so I call my company and they tell me it IS infact covered by my insurance so I was livid that I was being denied treatment on basis of lies. Also not super helpful in communication if the doctor just pops in the room for hardly a minute and is gone. Not only that when I called her again she lies to me again that the tube is in your pharmacy and I go all the way there and I am a med student studying for board exam and they made me waste my time on calls to their offices and pharmacies only to find out that she never sent it in the first place. Lying is not just super unprofessional it pretty much shows what type of rapport you wish to establish with your patient, and when I talked to this PA he refused to listen to any of this and just said I'll have to go for laser which is not covered by my insurance. I don't know what their obsession with my insurance is, I have changed my derm now, but yeah good luck trying to deny people treatments for mild-moderate acne by looting them with your laser money. Oh and they also didn't even tell me I have to buy glycolic acid pads from their office, they clearly missed the memo on patient education. So now my PIH is still there, and apparently I'm supposed to run back to them for that. Even if you drop it at my house you still delayed my treatment by months so what good is that to patient. Btw their laser prices are also heftier, do yourself a favor and find a better derm, preferably in the city where due to the competition they have actually better packages,and not this dingy depressing office. The office staff is horrible and rude... at best! The place is packed with 20-30 smelly old people, and the waiting area opens right out to the elements, so every time the door opens, freezing wind blows in. Staff from his office and other offices in the building smoke right outside his door, so the smelly smoke also blows in. So just imagine the triple-threat of ice cold smoke filled air, mixing with the smelly old people B.O. Yuck! As for the doctor... very odd bedside manner. His attempts at humor, to defuse the frustration of waiting almost 3 hours, did not help at all! Only made me more angry. Apparently he thinks hes a funny wise guy. He's not! And worst off all, all the things he found, and burned off, on my decaying half-century body, have all grown back a few months later. The visit was a complete waste of time, and money. I can't say enough good things about her. The office was clean. I only waited about 10 minutes in waiting room and then about 5 in the room which is unheard of in NYC practices. It was great. My experience started with her before I even came in, because she gave me a call two days before to ask me what I was coming in for to make sure that she was going to have enough time... Seriously so considerate and we move my appointment to the afternoon after that conversation so she would have enough time. I appreciated that right from the start. She cares. Then I got to meet her in person and was even more impressed. She was extremely knowledgeable, very straightforward, and had excellent bedside manner. I will recommend her 1000 times over.

Outside of that, i was shocked how they handled a $300 treatment which i was having done for the first time. First if all, it took under 20 min to get it done and it felt very rushed. The cleaning of the skin took 20 second with a pad, and she was barely touching my face and not getting all the spots. I did not feel clean at all and asked twice if i should remove the makeup myself and if she thinks this was a sufficient cleaning (was worried about break outs) The other steps were also super rushed, felt like areas of my face kept getting missed. Was especially concerned when she wiped the peel solution from my face with the same WAY too gentle, barely touching moves and not covering all areas. I had to ask her to do another pass because it did not feel like she removed the peel solution properly and face was getting slightly uncomfortable. When i asked about suction power, she said "the machine does it" altho i have read that there are different settings. Was also not asked about the solution of the peel which i have also read that can be customized. No one asked if i wanted a booster or an additional treatment added, nor did she give me any advice about what to do after the hydrafacial and generally barely asked any questions before or during the treatment. I kept thinking this must be her first time doing this because it was so horrible. 15-20 min later I emerged with the face slightly red, so far no catastrophic results but nothing great either, and i am so annoyed at spending all this money on a facial by someone who seemed so terrible at their job.
