I had been to Golfland around more than 10 years ago when I was very little, and I am pretty surprised that they are still around. I went here with an old friend of mine and we had the 36-hole package, and the staff kindly informed us that it allowed you to access the north and south side of the park, both having their own 18-hole courses. It was a nice way to kill a couple of hours honestly, and the various courses were very charming. I remember we were stuck on this one hole that was shaped like a volcano and we were laughing at how deceptively easy it looked, but we were fooled since both of us took at least 9 or 10 tries to get it in. All the holes were very fun and entertaining. If you plan on doing the 36 holes, I would recommend taking a break and getting a drink or snack after the first 18 holes. We did that and didn't really feel burnt out from just golfing. I would like to talk about the arcade too because it was honestly not as bad as I expected. In fact, I had a blast, especially with the air hockey table. I definitely had a better time at this arcade than the rip off that is Round One at Eastridge Mall. I only spent $10 on 600 credits and I actually got enough tickets to spend at the redemption corner, like a small Mario keychain, some fuzzy dice, and an airhead, which I was pretty satisfied with. I will probably come back again sometime in the future, as long as the golfing is still good and the arcade machines are still running. read more

Came here for my bday. Everything went well up until when my brother hit his ball into the black pipe at hole 18. We went to the counter to inform them that one of us nailed the shot at the 18th hole and the girl just said the system didn't register so no prize. Better video record your shot because they probably removed the bell and it's gonna be your word vs theirs. Mood killer. read more

Brought some friends here that were visiting from SoCal, thinking they'd enjoy the arcade and the the miniature golf. First of all, like more than half of the games in the gaming/arcade area were outta order! We pretty much played the same 3 games over and over (because we got wayy too much tokens before noticing all the out of order signs, also a couple of the machines ate our tokens) and waited for people to get off of some of them for our turns. We decided then to go play miniature golf. The golf course was alright, nothing too interesting. I personally like the Golfland in Milpitas better, more game options (that aren't broken) and bigger food court (I forgot to mention that the food area of this golfland sucks ... we waited for like 15 minutes and no one was at the counter! It took a 3rd try for someone to finally be there and he seemed preoccupied with his cell phone and there was some creepy old dude sleeping on the benches that kept taking peeks at us). read more

Some things never change and in this case, that is not a problem! Golfland is still as I remember it as a youngin'. It is getting a little on the older side, but is still the same ol' putt putt fun it has always been. I haven't tried the water slides in a LONG time, but look forward to taking my little brother next summer. Check it out if you haven't before. read more

What happen to the arcade you may ask? LET ME TELL YOU WHAT HAPPEN. SO, basically, you use a card now, almost like Dave & Busters. For every dollar, you get 40 game credits. For every machine, it cost 10+ game credits to play. I believe there's only 4-5 machines that cost 10+ game credits to play. The rest are all 20, 30, or even just 40 game credits to play. No more of that old school fun with tokens anymore. Therefore, there are many machines that you can't play with because it requires tokens, like those old school ones where you put in your token and it hits other tokens, making it fall down. YOU GET NONE OF THAT OLD FASHION FUN. But let me tell me, so they gave me a card but it was demagnetize the whole entire time, so I kept going up to them and asking them like why my card wasn't working, but they were like "it's in there, it's in there, it's in there." And after I had finally came up to them, for the 4th time, they finally decided to tell one of the main people to demagnetize it for me. It was a bit frustrating. I had 200 game credits in there, but when I had receive it back, I only had 170 game tickets, because I was trying to play with some of the games, but I guess they took some of my game credits away, and I talked with the workers, but they weren't willing to give me back my 30 game credits. JUST 30 GAME CREDITS. I MEAN, c'mon man. -_-;;;;;;;; Anyways, when you play with the game credits, your tickets get put back into the card, but WHAT IS THE FUN IN THAT?!?!?!?!? WHAT HAPPEN TO THE TICKETS?! I mean, if you're going to try to advance technology in the arcade, at least do it right. Like if I'm sure if I played with the machines years back when the tokens were still available, you guys would've of given back my tokens if it got stuck in the machine. -_-;;;;;;;;;;;;;; OKAY, but for the golfing part, it is worth it. There was a family pack for 4 people for 18 holes and it only cost $29.99 and it came with a coupon that was "buy a thick shake, and you'll receive up to 200 game credits and it was up to 4 people" so I chose that for everyone and it was worth it. Perfect for 8 years old+. The 18 wholes are perfect and it will last from an hour to two hours if you're playing a serious game. ++++++++ the thick shake is worth it, but you won't be able to finish it by yourself! :) Overall, I would come here for golfing, and maybe the arcade if they fix of the issues that they have. :) read more

I would love to take a minute and bitch about how crappy people are now a days. I know this makes me sound old and prudish. But since when is it ok for a family to be golfing and suddenly have their fun little family game crowded by not one, but two rude ass families that have decided it's ok to golf on our hole?!?!? And not just once, but multiple times!!! With that said- the workers are always friendly and happy. It's a relatively clean place for the shear number of children that run amok through this place. Bathrooms were clean but I had to fight the soap dispenser to get any soap out of it. I used to always love the water slides during the summer and can't wait for the day my girls are good enough swimmers for me to introduce this part of the park to them. The course itself is in need of some minor repairs, but with the towers, opening and closing doors, water features, etc. it is very fun- even when I've been going to this same golf land since I was a child. Just beware of the rude ass people... Let them pass you if they are in that big of a hurry. read more

I put a deposit down for a birthday party here months ago. First, I paid a $40 deposit & for 2 extra tables back in March. I was told round table pizza would be available to order. Today was the day for the birthday party & when I get there my extra tables weren't available so they moved us to another spot. Then they told me only papa johns is available for order. Very disappointed especially since their website still says round table pizza. I asked Dan the "manager" if we could order round table on our own. He said absolutely not! If I was aware of this. I wouldn't have had a party here. After the party, when it was time to pay, they tried to charge me for the 2 extra tables again. I had to pretty much argue with them to take that off my bill. We took our sons there for a nice family outing one lazy Sunday afternoon, and it was super fun. We did 1 round of mini-golf and the arcade. One round is plenty (kids can get bored quickly). The combination of mini-golf and arcade works well because they got to try different things. And at the end, they can trade in points for toys. They traded the points (stored electronically on a cared) for some candies and 2 whoopee cushions. I could not believe how much joy those old-fashioned toys brought them. There was so much giggling the entire drive home. Good, outdoor family fun. Highly recommend. read more

We found online coupons for $17/person for a round of mini golf and 600 game credits. I thought that was a good deal until I found out the video games were 40 credits each! Wth? This place is usually great but i was pretty disappointed with my last visit. We showed up 25 minutes before the golf section was supposed to close and they told us we couldn't golf since it takes an hour. There was only 2 of us and we could have knocked through the whole course pretty quick. Oh well, the arcade was still fun. Just pretty lame they didn't let us golf. read more

I'm Scottish so I know a thing or three about Golf. We invented the beautiful game back in 1457 in Edinburgh at the Burgess Golfing Society right behind my old house on Yacunchee Street. It was invented after a heavy night on the scotch and haggis as a hangover cure... All that rain and wind and sand and walking and ball hunting. Yes. Those were the days. When we were free of those bloody English tyrants. Anyway... I digress. Golfland is great fun. They have two eighteen hole courses that are sufficiently challenging. Especially those ruddy "volcano holes". Grrr.... I was particularly impressed with how well kept the courses were. Nice and flat and no sun-bleached curling of the faux grass. The eighteenth hole is pretty challenging considering its a pitch shot using a putter. You manage to ring the bell, you get a free eighteen holes. Sweet. I marked Golfland down a star for having pretty diabolical food, even the smell of it cooking as you walk in to the establishment, but hey - you're not there to eat - you're there to beat the shit out of your companion at the greatest game in the bloody world. Tip:- During the daytime in the summer months, this place gets mega crowded, so do what we do. Go have some dinner first then head over there around 9pm. You'll be finished the back nine by 10:30pm - just in time to find yourself a decent "nineteenth hole". read more

We went there today and it was interesting. The golf course was pretty fun and a bit challenging in a good way. There were 3 waterslides, but just waterslides. No wading pool or anything like that. It's a golf course with 3 waterslides. The food selection was small, but just enough like pizza, hot dogs--the likes. I got a cookies and cream shake and boy, even if it cost (with tax) $6.00, there was a lot of ice cream and it wasn't a shake--more like a super-duper blizard. The ice cream blew my mind! Very creamy with a pleasant taste. I'd go back just ti get the 'shake'! The kids had a lot of fun going down the waterslides and then doing a round of golf. It's worth going. A fun place for date in the evening! A great place to take the kiddos on a summer day! Versatile while being cliche? Sure -- but a fun time nonetheless. What a bummer. It was the first time for my almost 4 year old son. My daughter has been many times with us and for birthday parties. It was a gorgeous day in San Jose and we thought an outing for 7 of us would be just the ticket. I think the course is fairly well maintained but the patrons are getting pretty ghetto. In ghetto I mean no manners whatsoever. Families and unattended children meandering right through our game almost appearing lost. No excusing themselves or apologizing. Just wandering right through on the actual course like zombies. I know its not pebble beach but come on people. Rules are posted everywhere citing that if you don't obey the rules, you will be asked to leave. Oh yeah??? just who is going to ask you to leave, the 17 year old who is minding the equipment shed. If thats the case, do as you like because aint nobody gonna come out of there and ask you to leave. A group of inconsiderate pre-teens were wacking balls as hard as they could into other areas way out of the range of the hole they were on. Luckily, we were able to keep my 3 year old out of harms way. Too bad we have to take this one off of the list for a family fun time out. A trip to the zoo with the animals out of their cages would be safer and far more civilized. read more

Could use some updating on the holes. The hole number was in cement on the ground but didn't match on the sign at the beginning but we figured it out. Had some rowdy fat kids running from behind us and standing everywhere impatiently waiting their turn and not really playing the game but hitting the balls everywhere and screaming. Their parents don't care I guess. That will never happen to chinese kids, they would know a beat down coming from acting like that. My 12 year old son and I just laughed at them. So fat and funny. Sure run all over our hole, we don't care. Keep talking while we are about to hit our balls. But had a good time. read more

A fun place to go to when you're bored and need something new and old school in your routine. I'll come here when my boyfriend and I want to go on a date, if I have a few friends with me, or I'll go with my family to have some fun. There are two 18 hole courses that you can choose - both are generally the same -one will have different obstacles/challenges than the other. Both are in pretty good shape considering how old they are so some fixing up is needed but it doesn't distract from the fun you'll have! For the water slides: my cousins will go there a lot when it's super hot outside. They love them and all the other kids have a great time too. There's always a lifeguard on duty. There are only a few slides and a small lawn you can lay towels on so you'll want to come early because it'll get crowded! For the arcade: the arcade is AWESOME. it has your classic games and new ones along with other attractions like ski ball and air hockey. They've upgraded from tokens and now have play cards you can use (like at Dave and Busters". Very easy to keep track of how many tickets and coins you have! They are known for their ice cream! They have coupons for them when you play golf even though they're already cheap. Lots of flavors to choose from and all are delicious!! The rest of the food is really good too. Monday's are the best day to go; only $4 per person to golf! read more

I used to go to Golfland a lot as a kid. It's a very nostalgic place and close to home, so last night when my friends and I were trying to figure out what to do, I suggested minigolf. Sure, the sky was threatening to rain, but I thought that it would keep other players away and we'd have the place to ourselves. When we arrived, the raindrops had already started falling so we decided to do an 18-hole course instead of the 36. The guy working the counter was lacking in customer service skills. He really gave off the vibe that he hated his job and didn't want to be there. We had a coupon, and we weren't sure how it applied, so we asked him. Without even looking at it, he declared it was a buy one get one free, but he didn't explain what that meant: could we buy one person's game and get a second player's game for free? Did we have to pay for one round of golf for the whole group and get a second round free? Did a free 'attraction' mean that we could do the waterslides for free if we paid for golf? My boyfriend ended up sticking the coupon back in his wallet to use another time, since we weren't likely to pay for more than one round in the rain. Golfing in the rain was fun. There's not a lot of variety in the holes on the South Course. There are a lot of raised holes, where you have to hit the ball up the side of a cone-shaped hill. Two or three of the holes were water traps. I think there were three 'trap door' holes, although I'm not sure. The artificial turf was really worn down on some of the holes, to the point where the red and yellow textured surface was completely gone. Most of the set pieces looked like they'd been painted recently, at least. It's pretty obvious that the courses have been re-numbered; there's a brass number at the bottom of each course, and then a larger spray-painted number that was added later. It looks cheap and lazy. The arcade was crowded (I assume that's where everyone went when they fled the rain) so we didn't play any games. From my childhood memories, I remember there being a decent selection, but at least one machine would always eat my money. When we were done with our round of golf, we hit our balls into the castle and I actually managed to get into into the hole-in-one spot. "Hey, free game!" we thought. No dice. It turns out that a bell has to go off, and it only goes off randomly - not every time you make the hole-in-one shot. Bummer! That's definitely not how I remember it from when I was a kid...but I'm also pretty sure that when I came here as a child, the 'castle' was not the 18th hole, but was a special bonus shot. I think that if you play both courses, you end up with only 35 holes, not 36, because each course terminates at the castle. I could be wrong about this, but if that's how it works, that's lame. We had a question for the guy behind the window, and he left us waiting for several minutes. He was with a customer, so it wasn't a problem, but two other employees walked by. The first looked at us and then walked purposefully away, as if he'd just remembered something important. The other one just stood there, avoiding eye contact, before turning and heading back towards the food area. Jeez. I get that Golfland probably isn't a career dream, but a simple, "Hi! So-and-so will be with you shortly!" would have gone a long way. I was so turned off by the employees' attitude and collective disinterest in their patrons that I don't think I'll return to Golfland again. read more

Brought my 5 year old nephew here a few weeks ago and I didn't think he knew what to really do and I also thought he would get bored quickly and easily, but boy was I wrong. He was entertained the whole time. I think with each hole having a different theme kept the entertainment factor going. It was pretty fun, I also like the water slides that they have there too. The black slide is the better one, but if you are afraid of the dark you may be a little scared... The arcade is pretty big and on hot days and after being in the sun getting your Tiger Woods on, is a nice way to get cooled down as it is air conditioned and feels amazing, if you have ever been extremely hot and then gone into an air conditioned area, you know how it is. The staff is nice and helpful when you can get their attention and get them to look you way. They also have food you can order and I have not ordered any food from here so I cannot say if it is good or not. On some days it gets busier than others and could be a little irritating when I am trying to concentrate and sink a hole in one, where you have to hit the ball just right that it has to go over the bump, try to avoid the water pit, hit the angled corner just right, keep the ball in the center and hit this metal guider right to the hole with the perfect speed, but then some obnoxious teenagers have just gotten to the same hole and now has to wait for you but are so impatient and have no courtesy, then you miss the hole by a mile. During the holidays my family went here and had a great time. We got the 36 hole package for four people for $48.00. It was worth the cost, got to play for about 2.5 hours and the course was clean and allot of fun. The crowd was mostly family's and people there to enjoy the golf course. We never felt rushed and we were behind a large crowd which was nice since we got to take our time too. Staff was friendly and helpful. read more

I really like the variety this place has to offer. The challenging holes, are a plus. The courses they have are vary creative and the decoration really makes a difference. Four stars because it's given me some fun memories. From somehow needing to climb the fence to get my ball from the train tracks or leaning into the water to retrieve my lost ball to countless hours playing MVC2 at the arcade with monetary help from a few employees there. In reality, this place is closer to three stars. The courses are actually fun and I suppose the water slide could be too if you were a kid but I've never actually been on it for fear of sliding feet first into warm yellow water. Golfland is not paying any attention to social distancing. On their web site it says to make a reservation to prevent crowding and maintain social distancing. We made a reservation and when we arrived, there was a line at the window and the place was CROWDED. I asked if all these people had reservations and I was told that they take walk-ins during the week and only reservations on the weekend. Is the virus spread only on the weekends?? Makes you wonder if they take any of the other precautions listed on their website. Definitely would not go there if you expect them to be following CDC guidelines. read more

It's a place to bring kids - first for the golf, and as a secondary for the slides. The water slides aren't enough of an attraction to visit here just for the slides - as there are only 3 slides, ok maybe 4 I can't exactly remember but it's all basically one slide attraction and when you get to the top, you decide which slide you want to choose. There were a ton of kids there when we were there. At the bottom of the slide, that's it, you hurry up and get out and run back up the walk to slide down again. It's about an hour's worth of fun or so. They have life jackets for the little kiddies and lockers to put your things in and a small area with a few umbrellas to shade yourself if you don't feel like joining your kid on the slides. It was so dang hot the day we were there, we were desperate for shade! There's a shaded area in the middle with picnic benches but not enough shaded spots along the course to shelter yourself on a blazing hot day - wear a sun hat and bring sunscreen. The arcade was fun enough. Yeah, the bathrooms could use TLC, but with all those kids and water slide activity, I can see how it got run down and a little stinky. Stay hydrated. It's a fun place to spend an afternoon. And I skipped eating here, probably best, but the kids enjoyed the slurpies. read more

I only come here Monday nights because it's family golf night for $4.95! What a deal. I ordered a corn dog meal and a large pitcher of soda. The workers were super rude. At 9:30 I came back asking for a refill and the workers said they stopped serving. I politely asked for water. That was a no as well. They close the facility at 10. If you're trying to purchase things don't bother. The service was not that great and the workers all just want to go home. Besides that, my group and I had a blast golfing!!! This place might be okay for an afternoon of mini-golf and waterslides, but we had a pretty bad experience here for my son's 7th birthday party. The host for the birthday party was consistently unfriendly towards the parents and even kids. The highlight of the birthday experience here was holding a crying kid while begging the host assigned to our party to "have a heart" only to get a pretty horribly mean response making it very clear she had no real interest in helping with anything. Near the beginning of the party, the host informed us that we could not give the kids the fruit we brought as a healthy snack between activities. We saw other families at birthday tables actively playing while snacking on cookies from Safeway and homemade coconut treats. However, our apples and oranges needed to go. To make matters worse, the host come across as almost hostile as soon as the issue was raised. As a substitute snack, we ordered their Golfland fruit-platter. Unfortunately, it came out looking kind of slimy and people said it tasted like they added way too much sugar or corn-syrup. The kids thought it looked pretty gross and didn't really want to eat it. We asked if they could bring the pizza sooner since everyone was hungry and people didn't like the fruit platter. Our host then stated that the kids being hungry and not liking the fruit platter was "not her concern". We decided to try to do the birthday cake early so the kids could at least eat something. At which point our host stated, if she saw us having cake instead of our scheduled activity, we would need to leave immediately after finishing the cake. Speaking to the on-site own/manager helped. We're able to finish the cake and then complete the remaining birthday activities. He said he would talk to the host about the "not my concern" comment. Went on a Monday night with a date and had a great time in the arcade and a round of golf. Place was clean and the obstacles on the course worked well. They have a new automatic ball dispenser that you scan your ticket and choose the color of your ball. Been coming here since I was young and it definitely is in better shape now then before. I came here as a kid a lot for all of the summer birthday parties. I am a January baby, and hated that I could never have my birthday party at Golfland Waterslides! I recently came back and brought a 5 year old. I thought that after 3 holes, he would be bored and we would have to cut the trip short. He LOVED IT! All of the different holes kept his attention and he was dying to get a hole in one! They have done a decent job of keeping this place clean and safe. The only downside was the arcade. It shows signs of wear and tear and there seemed to be some shady characters hanging out - not playing just sitting around taking up space. Other than that, we had a great time. read more

First off, I promise not to give this place a bad review just because I utterly suck at miniature golf. Sure, I lost tonight. Pretty epically, too. But that's not why this place gets two stars. I didn't spend a load of time in the arcade, but I had a bit of time to kill waiting for my date to show up. I saw pinball (RollerCoaster Tycoon pinball, caught the eye of my inner geek). I also saw a taiko rhythm game. I would've happily played either, but I couldn't find a working change machine. Maybe the machines just didn't want my money! We played the south course, since there wasn't a line of people for it. Kind of a mistake. The north course seems to have better decorations and a better variety of holes (it's been awhile, but that's what I remember). The south course was kinda run down, the ball got stuck a few times, and some of the later holes just seemed like repeats of the earlier ones. All in all, it's mini-golf. Mini-golf can never be too bad! I didn't have a bad time at all, because I definitely enjoyed myself. It just seems like there's a little room for improvement. read more

Pretty normal Golfland. You can't really go wrong with playing a little mini golf for only about $6-7. They also have 2 different courses to play on. It is definitely a good time when you go with a group. I do enjoy coming here, when the weather is nice, and play some golf and a few arcade games as well. It is really close to the Oakridge movie theatres, so it makes for a nice date night. The only thing that I would suggest is that they upgrade the facilities. They are a little run down and could use a little TLC. Other than that, this is a nice little course to play. read more

Recently came here for mini-golf using an online deal that included 60 arcade tokens for $16.99 per person and had a great time. The courses were fun and uniquely decorated and overall clean. The arcade was also clean even though the place looks pretty old. The staff was friendly from what we experienced (only 2-3 people working) and patient considering how close to closing time we stayed. Golf course is five-star family fun and the arcade is 3-stars considering several of the games were token-stealing and broken... buy your tickets online.Also, they didn't mind we didn't have printed versions (although, I'm sure they prefer it) of our tickets, just fyi. read more

My dad took me to Golfland when I was 9 years old for the first time. Some 10+ years later, I still find myself coming every so often with friends or a date. As commented by others, the astro turf is in need of repair, and yesterday, I noticed that most of the arcade games were out of order too. I haven't been on the water slides since I was a camp counselor 5 years ago, but I do remember those being fun. I think prices have also really gone up, but I never paid when I was little. It's kind of a classic, and mini-golf is good for a wide variety of patrons-- again, I've been here with family, with camps, with friends, etc-- and everyone has fun. Just keep in mind that this place probably hasn't changed since it first opened, and that you will probably end up reaching in the nasty pond water for your ball on at least 2 holes. read more
