We had a problem with our half bath sink not draining. We looked on Next Door to find someone to help us; as not feeling confident about what we saw we turned to Yelp and were most impressed with what we read in the reviews for Shane with Good 1 Minor Plumbing. So impressed that my wife insisted that we call Shane 1st. I called and left message about 0930 am explaining it was NOT an emergency. He called back just after 5 pm and I missed his call. I called him back after 6 pm and we connected. I told him what the problem was and he said he could come on the next day which was Saturday after his currently scheduled appointment after 1 pm. I explained since this was not urgent, I could easily wait for the weekday rates. He stated that he does not bill that way and charges the same rate even on weekends and holidays. He arrived about 11 am; he and his helper immediately took their shoes off and left them on the porch. He came into the house and went to the sink in question; he was immediately able to diagnose the problem. It took him over an hour to clear the clog; but he left the sink in better condition than when he arrived. At this point in time, I will never call someone else to look at my plumbing if he is available. I am that impressed with what he did and his business practices are superbly customer friendly. When I first called, Shane was in the midst of a job. He told me he would call back within 30 minutes, and he did. He scheduled us for as soon as he could to fix an irrigation leak in our yard. This was followed up by a confirmation text. On the service day, we received a text that he was on his way. Forget the 5 star I would give him 10+ if yelp let me! I had a water leak that I thought was from my bathroom upstairs that was making sounds, and it leaked all the way to my kitchen ceiling. Call a bunch of plumbers wanting to charge me even before looking at the problem. Only Shane return my phone call and told me that he can come in the afternoon but also referred me to another business if I needed to taken care of faster! That right there impress me because who does that nowadays to give up work to another company! Shane even work with my schedule that day because of some errands I had to run. He came to the house went upstairs and check out the problem and told me it wasn't the bathroom but the bathroom sink which I never use but didn't know that it was leaking underneath ad soaking through the cabinet. Shane came to our rescue again. We first worked with him in 2019 when our water main was leaking from below the foundation in the front yard. He was responsive, courteous, fair, and honest with his quotes and performed the work with high quality and care. It was very refreshing to find someone who takes pride in their work and treats his customers ethically and fairly. 2 years later, his workmanship is standing the test of time. We periodically check the area for moisture and the area is always dry with no indication of leaking. Needless to say, we're very happy with his work. Today, we needed to call Shane when our 7 yr old water heater stopped heating. The pilot light would not stay on. Shane immediately responded to our call to let us know that he has a scheduled job in the morning, but can come by afterwards. My husband and I bought the new faucet at Home Depot first, but it turned out to be a flawed one and only a weak string of cold water could flow out of the flawed faucet. This guy installed a reverse osmosis water filter under our sink and a new disposal. He did the job exceptionally well, but that's not why the 5 stars. In an era, where Yelper's routinely hand out 5 stars for showing up at the job; Shane actually earned 5 stars with his knowledge, recommendations, personable attitude, and "beyond awesome" cleanup of all extraneous hoses, traps, and "puking free flow drain" I had been living with for the last 7 years. He even came back to inspect for leaks the next day at no charge...IN. CALIFORNIA! He is very detailed oriented and really knows his plumbing.
