Good Day Cafe was a wonderful experience for breakfast on my recent visit to the Minneapolis area. The restaurant was very busy for brunch, but was very clean, very vibrant, and staff was extremely welcoming to our group of 9. For breakfast, I ordered the Payslie's Favorite Eggs Benedict. This meal comes piled pretty high with guac, tomato, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce, and is served with a side of their delicious homemade breakfast potatoes. It was very filling and very delicious, and honestly one of the better eggs benedict dishes I've had in recent months! To finish off, we ordered some of their beignets. While they weren't quite as good as real beignets from New Orleans, they were a perfect sweet treat to end an already wonderful meal. 5 stars all around! Highly recommend! read more

After an early flight, Good Day Cafe's food really hit the spot! My travel party and I had scoped this place out ahead of time--Yelp reviews and photos sealed the deal--so as soon as we dropped off our bags, we headed straight to Good Day Cafe. It was bustling with activity, but we were quickly seated. I went with the Crab Cake Benny and coffee, and we all split an Apple Soufflé Pancake (it was HUGE!). The Eggs Benedict were good--lukewarm, but I wasn't going to wait (did I mention, early flight?), so I scarfed them down. The flavor was okay, nothing stood out, but the GDC potatoes were hot and flavorful! Two of my travel partners had the soufflé omelettes, and I have to admit, I had some serious FOMO--they looked amazing! My friend and I met here for lunch but I ended up ordering the mushroom and spinach soufflé omelette and the peppermint patty latte. The sautéed mu​shrooms Gruyere cheese and mushroom-sherry cream sauce was so satisfying and delicious. I've honestly never had such a fluffy omelette before. My friend got the chicken cesaer salad and said it was very good and the chicken tender and juicy. My late was super yummy too. Our server seemed to have the attitude that she didn't want to be there and it was hard to get her to follow through on what we asked her but without us even complaining the owner of the restaurant cancelled out our bills and asked us to come back for a better experience next time. I always enjoy going to Good Day, it is a classic cafe that is always busy in the morning but moves people through quickly. There is also abundant parking which is a must when going out a snowy morning. I started with a Chocolate Almond Coffee without whipped cream. This drink is mocha heavy but so good with a touch of coconut and almod. Paulie's Quiche is a fav dish here packed with roasted tomatoes and fontina. I used to come here all of the time pre covid. It's definitely gone downhill. I ordered an americano and it was so bad, i question if they even used espresso at all and maybe cheaped out and just used coffee? The corned beef hash was very unremarkable, had little flavor, and the portion size was tiny. The oatmeal was also bland. I've only eaten breakfast here and the food is perfect for breakfast lovers! I had an egg scramble with cheese & ham and it was super tasty! My husband got an omelette and he loved it! The waitstaff is really nice, but because this restaurant is super popular on weekend mornings, the service is a bit slow, great if you go with a group and want more time to chat! My friend had a classic mimosa and he said it was delicious. I asked for an egg scramble a bit off menu and they were happy to provide it! The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because your whole party has to be there before they seat you, even if you have a reservation, and even then you still have to wait a bit (not as long as people with no reservation though!) I went to good day café with some people who had already been there. They had raved about it so I was very excited too have my turn. We made a reservation so our party of five got in immediately on Saturday morning. It's a cute place. Clean. Seems like plenty of seating. Lots of people were chatting, but it didn't feel too noisy. We shared the apple cinnamon soufflé. It was absolutely delicious. When it comes to your table, it looks the size of a cake. We also shared a pecan sticky bun and it was delicious. One of the people had the donut pancakes and loved them. The rest of us had omelettes. One had a soufflé omelette and loved the way the eggs were. The other two of us had omelettes with different varieties of veggies and cheese. Everything was so good. We will be back when we are in town. And our local guests will go there all the time now. They do not do brunch on Saturday - the lunch menu didn't start till noon, so make sure you are hungry for breakfast if you go before then. The food was quick and came to the table HOT! We are excited to go and get their They haven't been there for quite a long time. Ordered the tomato basil soup, which I had to send back because it tasted like a bag of salt was dumped into it. So remembering the pot pie from years ago I ordered that. It came out within 3 to 5 minutes with a hard shell and a gravy poured into the middle of it with just a couple chunks of chicken ,2 potatoes and a couple carrots otherwise it was mostly just the gravy,we were shocked. I visited Good Day Cafe recently when I visited my family in Minnesota. We arrived around noon, and as would be expected, the place was busy at that time. Two things made a lasting impression on me; 1. I dropped my 94 year old mother off at the door while I parked the car. We were going to all meet in the outdoor seating, and when I was parking the car, I saw the hostess (I'm so sorry I didn't get her name) very patiently walking my mom to our seating area. She took care to avoid the crown inside, and unsteady surface outside. The second thing was our waitress Missy. I come from the service industry, so I know professionalism when I see it. Although very busy, Missy was attentive, patient, and efficient. She checked in on us frequently and single handedly, made our dining experience an excellent one. We were a party of five looking to hedge brunch, and their was a wait of about 25 minutes when we got here in Memorial Day. First of all, we were glad they were open on a holiday. They were quite busy. The wait time wasn't bad, and it didn't even take us full 25 minutes to get seated. On top of that, we got a good big table away from the main crowd where the noise level was high. Our server was friendly, courteous, and attentive. She came to attend to us right away. We placed our drinks order and kid's meal order first and took a bit more time to decide on the brunch entrées. I got myself a Bloody Mary. For my brunch entreé, I shared a plate of their Mushroom and Spinach souffle omelet with onions, gruyère cheese, and gruyère cream sauce and a side of lightly fried potatoes and Almond crusted Brioche with strawberry compote and sour cream . The other folks in my party ordered the Big Luigi, which was an omelet with assorted veggies and sausage. The food came out promptly. It was delicious. The omelet was fluffy and flavorful. I really liked the gruyère cheese and the cream sauce. I also ordered a side of chorizo patties. The Good Day Cafe potatoes they were the side dish were also really good. I liked the potato skin that was still on the potatoes. The Almonds crusted Brioche was unique in the sense of its preparation. It was not like a typical French toast. It wasn't too sweet. The strawberry compote and sour cream paired well. My Bloody Mary was pretty good, too. It had a nice kick to it as I had asked it to be made spicy. Last but not least, I stopped by at their bakery & coffee shop counter to get some pastries to go. I got a could of different kinds of scones. We had a great experience here. Our server did a wonderful job with helping and serving us. Good Day Cafe also serves lunch and dinner. I hope to go back to try their dinner dishes. Good Day Cafe was a a restaurant focusing on breakfast we found on our recent trip to Minneapolis. They had a menu full of awesome looking breakfast dishes. I tried the Crab Cake Eggs Benny which came with an English muffin, homemade crab cakes, 2 poached eggs, and of course hollandaise sauce. I came with some home fry style potatoes as well. This was one of the best breakfast dishes I've ever had the privilege of eating. The potatoes were excellent but that eggs Benny was a legend. Specifically the crab cake was soooo good and had sooooo much flavour. Words can't do justice to how good it is. You just need to try it. My wife enjoyed her German pancake almost as much as I enjoyed my Eggs Benny. The restaurant was so bright and vibrant with lots of sunflower decor around. The service was excellent as well. Always on the hunt for a good breakfast spot, this one popped up when I entered "Breakfast near me" after an early morning photo shoot at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. I was very happy I went. My server came over immediately and brought my coffee promptly. In those few moments, I'd spotted my meal: house-made corned beef hash and eggs, which came with "spicy ketchup" on the side. The hash was the best I've had other than Hereford (which is no longer made) and the ketchup second only to Sir Kensington's (which is no longer made, either). It's a lively place so can get a little bit noisy, but in a fun sort of way. Getting there involves some convoluted side streets, so your GPS can be a real asset. I met my sister-in-law here for brunch on a Thursday at 10 am. I arrived slightly before she did, and I immediately noticed the loudness of all the surrounding conversations being had. If I could give Good Day Cafe more stars, I absolutely would. It has become my go-to spot since I discovered it a few months ago. I make it a point to visit at least once every weekend because having breakfast out has always been my favorite thing to do. Just a heads-up--make reservations before you go because this place is always packed. They have nice chairs to wait in while you anticipate your name being called. The entire staff is friendly, and the lighting and decor are genuinely welcoming. I've been seated in both the main dining room and the quaint alcove area, which would make an excellent spot for a date night. The food here is top-notch. One of my favorites is the open-faced hot turkey sandwich, complete with all the fixings so you can enjoy Thanksgiving any time of year. Their specials are consistently good no matter what they offer. I highly recommend their corned beef hash, made fresh and not from a can--so delicious! Every single breakfast item is fantastic, and the Dutch apple pancake is huge. It's a challenge to finish it all, but it's worth ordering. I usually end up taking half of it home to enjoy later. They have a wide array of beverages; I've tried the fancy ones, but I also enjoy their regular coffee. The waitstaff here bend over backwards to ensure your order is correct and that you are well taken care of. Even when they're busy, they remain cheerful and efficient. There was a line out the door but we had made a reservation for a larger party several weeks in advance. Smaller parties seemed to not wait too long. The bread pudding French toast was good, I liked the strawberry cream cheese on top. I misread the mushroom eggs Benedict dish, which had a light mushroom sauce over it instead of hollandaise. The potatoes that came with it were my favorite part of the meals. They were out of beignets at 11am, which was a bummer. The food is pretty good so I sort of get why this place is always crowded BUT the time management is just not good. We had a 12:30 reservation but did not get sat until 12:55. And we didn't get our food until 1:15. So I guess what I am saying is give yourself about an hour from your reservation and when you will actually eat. The crab cake Benedict was pretty good.
