I enjoy visiting Good Harvest for AYCE hot pot :) I try to avoid Fridays as it get VERY crowded and have a long wait time. There is a 2-hour limit, but it's definitely more than enough (especially if you know what you are doing). I came here with small groups and large groups, and I had no problem eating as much as I want. There's a sauce bar in the middle of the restaurant for you to create your own sauce. You can be as creative as you want! I like having half mild broth and half spicy broth, so I can get the best of both worlds - the mild broth is also super delicious to eat (think of it as miso soup) in between food. I will definitely be back for more AYCE hot pot. It's so worth it! read more

So this is not your regular Chinese food restaurant. It's hard to understand the menu and the wait staff does their best to explain with the language barrier. I do love the Chinese fondue idea, eating and cooking at the table, however we opted out of that as we didnt quite understand how it worked. We did get the seafood pot to share, this was good and spicy even though we ordered mild, we loved that it was actually fresh lobster and blue crab, that you saw swimming in a tank, cant get any fresher than that. My only suggestion is to find a way to explain the menu better to us English speakers. Other than that service was good. read more

I adore this place, it's truly a taste of home. Walking in, you are greeted by a wall of stacked fish tanks - that's how you know the seafood is as fresh as can be. Past the fish tanks is a bar, and beyond that is the spacious seating area. I tend to visit in big groups and we always order some combination of the dry pots, my favorites are the fried squid and crab. The squid is crispy and flavored. And the crab meat is soft and super fresh, though eating the crab really slows me down, since the shell gets embedded in my tooth gaps... All dry pots also come with unlimited add-ons, rice cake, potato slices, cabbage, bean curd etc. (Though beware, the meat is placed on top of the add-ons, so there is actually less meat than it seems in the pictures.) This place is really nice for the hotspot feel. The flavors profile is correct but here are some points to consider. Going at night this place is expensive. It has an a la cart style of hotspot and ordering a decent number of dishes can rack up the cost quick. But! They do have a lunch buffet that is reasonably priced on the weekdays. After eating for a while the taste starts to get to you. It is as if there is too much msg or the broth is too concentrated. It upset my stomach after eating for a bit. Mind you though I eat hotpot at home regularly and I like it really spicy and heavy on the flavors. The service is lacking as well. This is my first hot pot experience and I went in with high hopes and excitement. I left with "just ok". We went on a Friday for lunch - It wasn't crowded. My cousin and I ordered the dual hot pot AYCE. I LOVE LOVE spicy but my cousin does not eat super spicy so we settled on the mild. And thankfully we did, mild was WAY too spicy. TAKE CAUTION. I had to dilute it with some of the broth and it was tolerable. The pork broth was pretty good but the spicy broth lacked a lot of flavor it was just spice. Thankfully they had a condiment bar (which was well stocked) and I took advantage of that. There were so many options and so we got an assortment of dishes. I love trying new things and having different choices. I really liked the udon noodles, fried tofu, mushrooms, and fish. The beef meats were just okay. With just two people, I wish they scaled the portions down a lot more because it was hard to finish! AYCE is fine but I was not wanting to pay more for unfinished food. Walking into this restaurant was absolutely beautiful. I was surprised to see it so close to a hotel honestly. The location was great. You walk in and the hostess gives you a menu to check off what you want in your AYCE hotpot. We chose the ying Yang split broth and got the bone broth and spicy broth. There wasn't many vegetarian options for the broth though, im sure you could ask for just original broth. We got some choice meats, lots of veggies, tofu, and hand pulled noodles. I've become very fond of the Cary area due to the high number of traditional hot pot restaurants. This one is very nice and very spacious. We payed $50 before tip for 2 people for lunch on a Monday. (Which is the cheapest Hot pot in American I've had )There is lots of room to move and get your sauce which is a problem I've had with other hot pots in the area. The staff was very kind and we got our tables very swiftly and they were very attentive but did not roam the floor, so if you needed something you had to wait which was perfectly fine for us but it was still something to note. Great hot pot! Good broth, wide variety of ingredients, and sauce bar had everything I wanted to make my usual sauce. We ended up having a great experience here overall; however, there were definitely some frustrating moments tonight resulting from understaffing that tainted our overall experience. Firstly, we had a party of 11 (trust me, I didn't want it to be that big either) on a Saturday night, and I know how difficult it is to accommodate and service a large party, so we called beforehand to make a reservation; we were told over the phone that a table would be ready for us at 7:30. When we arrived at the restaurant on time, there was no table ready, and we were told the table would be ready in 5-10 minutes. We ended up waiting for over an hour. It was frustrating not because we had to wait, but because we were continually told that we wouldn't have to. After we were seated, we probably wouldn't have received any attention at all if we didn't flag down staff for basic things like water, missing ingredients, and utensils to replace the ones that they knocked off of our table while throwing the food onto the table in the hurry that they were. Food was very slow to reach the table after it was ordered, up to 20 minutes for raw ingredients, and didn't all come out at the same time. I don't find fault with the staff members for their negligence but more with the restaurant's management, since we had a party of 11 and it was clear that the place was understaffed, with 3 people running the whole show on a Saturday night. Towards the end of the night, as other customers left, we received better service. Overall, I would still recommend Good Harvest for hot pot, but I wouldn't recommend it for large parties during the weekend. My parents were visiting last weekend so I decided to treat them to some hot pot. Since I've already been to So Hot, I decided to take them to Good Harvest. We came in for dinner on Easter Sunday around 5ish and it wasn't too crowded inside that we got seated right away. We decided to go with the half and half, half normal broth and half spicy broth. For vegetables, we went with Enoki mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, and some radishes. For meat, we ordered slices of beef, slices of lamb, fish fillet, prawns as well as some more exotic stuff like pig blood, liver and some sort of fish paste. Make sure you also get some dipping sauces! The traditional way of eating hotpot is to grab whatever you want from the hot pot, then dip it in your dipping sauce and then finally putting it in your own bowl. Just like So Hot, there is a selection of sauces and topping to choose from. The sesame one is a pretty authentic dipping sauce. Food was amazing, my parents were definitely satisfied with what we got. In the end, the complementary dessert came and it was some sort sugar water with tapioca balls. The Szechuan hot pot broth is legitimately spicy, so proceed with caution when ordering. The chrysanthemum leaves, elephant ears, brisket, tofu skins and Chinese donut were out favorites but everything we tried was delicious. Our servers were really nice and pleasant as well. First impression: We visited as a group of 14 and we were seated in one of their VIP rooms. The interior is neat and modern and the VIP room I was in was no exception. (And yessssss, they have free karaoke in the room, with the majority of the list being Asian songs.) Food: Instead of ordering the typical hotpot that the Chinese Hotpot restaurants serve, our group went for three massive dry/stir-fried pots. They serve almost all types of edible meats that you could think of (and consume locally), with one of the highlights being the frog legs they include in their pots (optional); it's definitely worth a try if you are adventurous or in favor of more traditional Chinese cooking. Price: For the three pots and snacks we orders, it's approximately $30 per head pre-tip. So it is relatively pricy. I was very excited to try AYCE hot pot but I was quite disappointed. 1. Their meat selection isn't that great. Although you're paying $25 for AYCE, you have to pay extra for certain items. 2. A lot of the meats that we ordered was just fats. 3. You can only order 1 order of the item at once. We really liked the fish balls but we had to wait to fill out another piece paper to get more. They do take a while to bring out the item so it's inconvenient. 4. Even if you mark on your order paper and the server looks at it, you may not get the item. Whether they were out of it or they overlooked it, we never got it. 5. I did feel a bit rushed the entire time. Our server kept coming to our table so we'd order but we had 2 people at our table that had never had hot pot before so we took a bit. She rolled her eyes and laughed at us at times. 6. They do have a time limit but they're slow with bringing out the food possibly and probably purposely. I'd much rather spend $25 on AYCE sushi or burger than hot pot. Not at all what I expected. Good Harvest is a Chinese Hot Pot restaurant- super fun and unique experience and definitely worth trying. I've been twice now and the first time was very confusing, but during my last visit, they had completely redone the menu making it much simpler to order. Being new to the concept, we decided the best route would be go with the $25 pp All you Can Eat - mixed pot of spicy and not spicy soup (yuan yang). They'll ask how spicy, we did medium and even that was a bit too spicy - I'd rather go mild next time and add spice to my liking. We ordered as many noodles, veggies and meats we wanted and were able to try a variety of everything! My favorite items were the dumplings and pumpkin. This was my first visit at Good Harvest. My friend and I came in at about 5:30pm, which was great because it didn't seem very busy at that time, although it picked up really soon. We were greeted with friendly staff that seated us. Since it was our first time, the server explained how the menu worked and showed us the sauce bar. *TIP: apparently you are supposed to use the different sauces to make condiment to dip, but we thought that those were ready-to-use sauces...tasted okay anyways* From the menu, we ordered the YIN YANG broth, which is half spicy and half bone broth. Personally, I liked the bone broth-- the spicy one had this Mala spice that was too bold for my palate. We chose a bunch of different veggies, almost everything on the menu + 3 types of meat -- don't do this unless you are ready to eat all of it, otherwise you have to pay a $15 penalty for food waste!! We didn't want to pay that obviously, so we tried our best to eat everything. ALSO, there is a 1 hour 45 min time limit for your stay, so keep that in mind especially if you have a bigger party of people. Overall, it was a great experience and really enjoyed everything. NC finally has a good hot pot place to eat. 1) First note it is priced by head, for the hot pot. It is not cheap. You have been warned. 2) There are refills on meat and veggies so don't fret if you eat them all there is still broth left. They will also, refill you soup pot with more broth. 3) The dipping sauce bar is great. 4) Why two instead of five? The bathroom was f#@+*&g filthy. The bathroom stunk to high hell. I've been to Good Harvest several times for hot pot. I definitely prefer hot pot in the fall and winter months. I was recently introduced to their dry pot and I might like it better than hot pot. We did the mix and match and went with the 3 options so we could try more stuff. We chose: shrimp and calamari, flounder and prime rib. We got the mild, golden pepper flavor. It comes with cauliflower, seaweed knots, mushrooms, potato, and zucchini. You can add more items but it does cost extra. We added hand pulled noodles, 2 bowls of rice, and rice cakes. The only complaint I have is they only gave us a few rice cakes so it wasn't worth the extra cost for it. I definitely want to come back and get the lobster and crab. read more

My brother and I came here for AYCE hot pot for lunch and was happily surprised at how good it was. They have a good selection of meat and vegetables. We had the lamb, shrimp, beef tripe, and pork belly for meat. We got watercress, lotus root, fried tofu, and black fungus for vegetables. Our selections, paired with the Yuan Yang style soup, made for a lovely, filling meal. Both soup bases had great flavor, I definitely had to take it a bit easy with the spicy side. It has a nice burn to it, which my brother really enjoyed. After we were all done, we had the hand-pulled noodles cooked in the now meat/veg infused broth, which was super tasty. They had some other nice touches to the restaurant. They had a fully stocked sauce bar, so you can mix your own dipping sauces for your meal. The staff were attentive and added more soup base when our broth got low. We were also got coconut sago included for dessert. Word to the wise: you may want to look into what a Hot Pot experience is prior to arriving to bette familiarize yourself... however, we did not but found our servers very gracious and helpful when making decisions. They have both a dry hot pot and a soup based version-think Melting Pot. We went ahead with the soup base and got both the bone broth and the spicy red broth. We ended up with "medium" heat, and while I'm not one of those people who are afraid of spices and heat..... be warned the medium is very hot! It is not American medium, this is all based on a Chinese scale. Next, You choose the veggies, noodles and meats you'd like to add. It's best advices to not dump too many items into your hot pot at a time as all food items can have different cooking times and it becomes really hard to keep track of it all. We went with a bunch of different veggies and rib eye and spicy lamb for our meats. The spicy lamb was difficult to both cook and eat-- it was served all lumped together. The rib eye of course is great. It is highly recommended you hit up the sauce bar and create your own dipping sauce! The service was fantastic as staff were very helpful. Over all, I'm really stoked to back soon! Definitely made a bit of a mess as this was our first Hot Pot experience but we are excited to come back as now we know what to expect. read more

I went with a party of 4 and we opted not to do all you can eat, which saved us money and still filled us up. You can still order a wide variety of items for ~$75, which will be good for 4 people -- something to keep in mind when choosing between all you can eat vs. paying per item. Food is great. There's also a nice selection of sauces you can mix together that you can dip your cooked items in. Most customers are Asian, which is a sign that it's good authentic food! (My parents who are from China agree that its authentic.) For anyone new to hot pot, I recommend watching videos to see what the experience is about before coming. Best AYCE hot pot restaurant in the Triangle area. Monday through Friday from 12pm - 4pm is the All You Can Eat deal, which is definitely worth the money. For $18, you get a selection of various meats, veggies, noodles, and seafood, or $11 for no meat/seafood. I came with a party of seven and we were seated at a large circle table with one stove in the middle. We were given menus and a pen to check all the foods we wanted in each round. After you marked what you want on one menu, you hand it to the waiter and they bring out the raw food. For soup base, we got the Yuan Yang broth, which is half spicy and half mild. The food came out very quickly and we immediately started putting food into the hot broth to cook. Before the first round of food comes, you'll want to go to the sauce station (next to the front entrance) and mix together some of their sauces to make your own dipping sauce! They had an average selection of different sauces, from your basic soy sauce and sesame sauce to some sweeter sauces I didn't recognize. The food selection was pretty good, including a wide range of essential hot pot foods. Our party probably ordered at least one of almost everything on the menu, and agreed that they were all good. If you're new to hot pot, I'd definitely recommend the fish tofu, fish balls, pork belly, and seaweed knots. They also had an "extras" section on the menu, where you could order specific dishes a la carte. It mainly contained more expensive meats, but we were very satisfied with the original menu. The waiters were very attentive, constantly refilling our water and adding more hot water when our broth was running low. However one issue about this was that it diluted the broth, and our spicy broth wasn't very spicy by the end. Overall, very good experience and at $18/person, it's very comparable to other AYCE hot pot restaurants. The first (before sohot) AYCE hotpot in the triangle area so I gotta give them some credit. But the menu/price/broth/presentation/service definitely needs some upgrade. In general, the selection is less than the Sohot counterpart, it's about 5 dollars cheaper per person. But the broth is really lacking flavor. Each portion of food is either too much or too little. For example, they will give you winter storage full of enoki mushroom, but at most 5 rolls of beef, each person shares among 4 people. The wait time here is always "15 minutes". I don't even bother to ask anymore. Now I only go there for the veggie option, which is a lot cheaper per person compares to the counterpart. Also that I live closer to Good Harvest. read more

Great first experience! I visited Good Harvest with my family after a not so great experience at So hot. They have a menu for hot pot or kitchen. Our waitress took away the kitchen menu as soon as she knew we were going for the AYCE hot pot. I ordered a mango fruit tea with my meal. The hot pot menu has a large variety of meats and vegetables. We ordered a little bit of everything with a dual broth hot pot (level 1 spicy soup and bone broth soup). Everything arrived shortly after we ordered. The fruit tea wasn't that great so I'll skip the next time. The meats/vegetables were great and the serving sizes were huge. The spicy soup was indeed spicy. It didn't even seem like it was mild so be careful with it. The spice lingers in the back of your throat. There is also a sauce bar in the middle of the restaurant so you can create your own sauce to go with your meats/veggies. We finished about 1.5 hrs later and the waitress brought out a warm vanilla (unsure of what it really was) soup. It was a nice gesture to try and clean/settle the stomach of the spice.
