We went to the state park and enjoyed the multiple trails, and decided a beer was needed after all that walking. Very friendly staff and lots of good tasting beer (Kolsch/ IPA/ scotch ale...) and Can do tasting flights too. Little gift shop w all sorts of glasses w logo of brewery, hats, etc... even got to meet the owners dogs-- pet friendly and have an outside fenced in area too. read more

Group of four and we started with flights and then moved on to a pint each. The flights at are clearly marked with poker chips that allow you to make your pint choice. The atmosphere was so friendly, Pabst and Kane met us at the door creating a dog friendly welcoming experience. We played games and and drank good beer with our family, great local spot! read more

Good Hops is great if you want a casual drink. Their outdoor patio is huge and they do a great job enforcing Covid policies.

Great place. They allow dogs inside for those hot days. They always have some form of entertainment going on. The beer is good and cold.

While vacationing in the town of Kure Beach, I visited this adorable little Brewery twice. The first time was on a Friday afternoon in the place was pretty packed I bought a really cute little Growler 32 ounces, for five bucks and had it filled with the Donnas orange dream, a light sour. I also decided to get a 32 ounce can of the raspberry chocolate stout to bring with me to the beach the next day. Both beers were delicious I decided to go back the following day and get the same thing however I got two cans of the chocolate raspberry stout cuz it was so damn good. Didn't stay to drink in the establishment but there were a lot of people hanging out there. They offer free water and there's a cute little fridge with snacks. If it wasn't so hot perhaps I would have hung out for a while. Would definitely go back. The same woman was working the bar both days I was there. She was highly efficient and very friendly. It's a shame this place allows dogs cause the outside space smells like poop and when u look around there is dog feces around the perimeter of the sitting area. And the patrons allow their kids to run around and the dirt is kicked up and can't enjoy ur beer. ; ( Seems odd to have kids around with drinking ; ( dogs crapping right in front of us and no one cleaning it up. We went here on a Sunday afternoon in February. I've driven by a few times on trips to the beach ( we live in the Chicago area where there are tons of great Breweries) and wanted to stop in. The beer was really good and interesting flavors! The place was fun and a few people had dogs outside playing. There were a few snack choices but I couldn't help but wonder... What would happen if a few fabulous food trucks pulled up outside it the parking lot during beach season... This place could be a GOLD MINE! It would be a great destination after a day of fishing or soaking up the sun! The parking lot is perfect! Are there food trucks in this area???? How fun would that be? read more

Quite good. Their pink lemonade shandy is tops! Dog friendly, free wifi, inside and outside seating and boards/card games to play as you sit and ponder life. Friendly atmosphere and they also do free tours at 2, 4 and 6. read more

Good Hops is just what Carolina Beach needed. I have been to every local brewery in Wilmington and Good Hops is one of the best. Dog friendly, no television, friendly staff and most important good beer. A nice variety of styles represented from lighter to dark. They tend to be lower on the gravity side. My personal favorite is their Scotch Ale. read more

My husband and I are a big fan of craft brews, and frequent the Carolina Beach area every year. We couldn't wait to give Good Hops Brewing a try. Unfortunately, our first visit will be our last. We arrived in the early evening with our two kids, sat down at a table inside, ordered beers and had pizza delivered for our dinner. As we are sitting there eating and drinking, the owner told us to vacate our table for an event they were having, she couldn't even wait for us to swallow our bite before kicking us out. We went outside, to enjoy breathing in second hand smoke and having our kids walk in sand covered with dog pee, while we ate and finished our beers. This "event" was NOT listed on their website, or social their media pages, and had we known about it, probably would have chosen a different night to try their establishment, but I guess it allowed us to see the true colors of the owners. We love supporting the local economy at Carolina Beach, but wouldn't come here again. read more

Dog friendly and outdoor beet garden is under works but sure it will end up being great. great spot to chill and grab some craft beer when you need a break from the beach. read more

Really like this little gem on Carolina Beach! Very laid back & really nice beers at decent prices. Great place to knock back some local beer while playing some of the board games they had out & I liked that our friend could bring her dog as well. The prices for their big to go cans was nice too. Was here a few weeks ago while on vacation. Ordered the flight to sample all the beers on tap. Was not optimistic since the brewery is only a few months old and not near some spring water source....was very surprised at the taste and quality. Everyone who works there knows and loves beer. Got a quick tour and tips for home brewing as well. Took home a mason jar of beer to enjoy. Can't wait till I'm back in the area most likely in two years to see how much better it gets with experience since it is already very good. read more

Love this place. While their selection isn't huge their beers are generally good and their guest brews are typically great. It's a sweet little place that's a blast to relax with friends or family. Totally kid friendly. We like to pick up food, eat, and bring a board game to play while we drink. Atmosphere is friendly and laid back. The flights are a great deal. Was very excited to finally get to visit Good Hops, but immediately became disappointed. The owner was not very pleasant to us when we asked for a tasting making us share a 1/2 a Dixie cup between us. There was a promotion of 8 1/2 glasses beer for $10, 4 of the GH beers and 4 mystery beers. However when the owner poured he only filled a half glass half way (total of 1/4 of a glass). There were kids running in and out the door constantly. Will check this place out again as I did like the beer and hope for a better overall experience. read more

As I local on the island I am very disappointed in the owners of this place. I have talked with them several times and they lack any sense of customer relations. At my suggestion a large group of us had come for a tour last night. Most people had never been there before. After being there for 2 hours they basically kicked us out. I understand they were closing but the owner rudely said, "These tables have to go back where they came from. We aren't a restaurant, you know." And she stomped around tossing 3 tables and chairs about 3 feet away like a child throwing a tantrum. How RUDE! I keep trying the place and this woman, along with her husband, are consistently unfriendly, abrupt and just plain clueless. I spoke with the bartender about this and she nodded and agreed that the owners are like that all the time. I will never go back. There are plenty of other places to to drink and relax on the island with proprietors who know how to treat paying customers that bring hoards of friends. read more
