Such a great find out here in Manor, Texas! I'm in favor of outdoor grills and picnic areas and this one has all what attracts me to an ideal setting. First off, I'm from the big city where parking is such a big deal. Good Luck Grill has a ranch sized parking area for the big boys and girls for their monster trucks and just enough for me to park my mid sized as well. Once inside, the clean family restaurant looks so welcoming and smells of good food. I really like the hospitality of our host at the counter as they recommended all what was in store for us. I ordered the chicken sandwich and my wife, the hamburger and fries. Wanted to try their catfish, but our guy served up a small plate . He was so kind and generous! The food is good, but lately the Customer Service has gone down to where the customer does not matter. If it wasn't for us, the customers you would not have a business/restaurant and No Job. They have been messing up on orders and they are not apologetic and fixing the problem right there and then. Save your time and money and go elsewhere, where you will be appreciated. read more

I've been here a couple of times and had a good experience. The food is a little hit and miss. One day the onion rings will be the best I've ever had and the next time they will look really not good. I ordered the deluxe cheeseburger the first time and the mushroom burger the next time and I liked those. My husband ordered their chicken and their bacon jalapeno burger and was not impressed by either. Their grilled cheese was okay. They have a Frito pie that is like a little taco/nacho dish that was pretty tasty. Something that we loved was their Jackpot dessert. It is crushed pecans then cool whip, chocolate cream pie filling, whipped cream, and more crushed pecans on top. It is really delicious. They also have this whole area behind the restaurant where kids can play or you can just enjoy the evening. read more

This has become a special place for our family, especially when we want to get together with other families with young kids. The food is OK -- it's your basic fried food, with slightly above average fried catfish. But it's absolutely priceless to go to what is basically just a big piece of farmland, have a few beers and let the kids just enjoy themselves, climbing on tubes and hiding in secret houses, running as far as they can with no worry of cars. The kids even get a token to enjoy a prize from the vending machine when they're finished eating. I don't love the use of Styrofoam, but other than that, this place gets my vote for good old fashioned country fun. read more

I was in the Manor area for a meeting and stopped here for dinner. I ordered the Southwest grilled chicken sandwich based on the recommendation of the person that took my order. That was a really great decision. The sandwich had a juicy piece of grilled chicken that was cooked to perfection topped with a fried green tomato, bacon, lettuce, hot gooey provolone cheese and chipotle aioli. The sandwich came with fries that were hot and perfectly crisp. To sum up my experience-damn what a sandwich and if I lived in the area I would eat there regularly. Today was my second visit. Both have been 'to go' since we live right up the street. Ordered the Family Fried Catfish Dinner the first time on 9/4/16, for my birthday. Today's trip was "just because"... we have been thinking about that catfish ever since our first meal. Today's order was 15 catfish filets a la carte & lg. coleslaw. The catfish is THE shining star here! Hot, crisp yet tender, perfectly cooked with no greasiness or stale oil taste- to which I am extremely sensitive. If the oil is beginning to age, I can taste it...and it's a taste I hate. None of that here!!! Today I made jambalaya at home to go with the 'take out catfish & coleslaw'. I even made tartar sauce, just in case...but the sweet lady behind the counter offered me some. Hers is great, so I went with that. They tossed in lemons and hushpuppies, too, on our a la carte order. This really rounded out our meal. Good Luck Grill is a real gem in Manor. It's very casual, cute as can be inside & has a nice area outside, as well. I think next time we'll eat there. This place is great! It's cute inside with old photos and varies antique tidbits on the walls. There's a whole park in the back. Great for kids to run around. The food is fresh and tasty. We had fried catfish with a side of fried zucchini. All great. The cornmeal batter is thin, crispy, and flavorful. Tried mom's grilled zucchini and it was perfect. Fried and grilled shrimp were enjoyed by my parents. It's easy to miss this place. It's set back from the road a bit. Worth the mile and a half off 290. Will definitely be back. read more

DINERS BEWARE! We dropped by the Good Luck Grill at 5:40, Saturday the 25th (in the middle of the COVID-19 lockdown). I ordered a couple dinners, paid and moved to the go-to waiting area. While waiting, I noticed that only one of the four people in the kitchen was wearing a face mask. I then then saw one of the cooks lick his fingers, then go right on preparing food. I told the cashier to cancel by order and give me my money back and the reason why. There was no apology, no talk to the cooks to do anything different. Nobody seemed think there was any problem. Driving by, you would miss this place if you weren't looking for it. I did miss the turn since it is not paved or signed. Very rustic setting. Stopped in here after flying into the Austin airport to meet family for dinner. This place came recommended to my sister n law by locals, as it happened to be on the way to my hotel in Bryan. I ordered the chicken fried steak, as I haven't had that in some time. Dish was very tasty. Served on styrofoam plates, the steak had burned some of the plate it was served on. A nice gem off the beaten path in Manor. I've driven by here a couple of times and always noticed several cars. We drove out from Austin and it did not disappoint. I'll have to return when I can enjoy the full menu. My son had the Frito Pie and loved it. My daughter had the Cheese Burger and said it was perfect. My wife and I had the Gutt Buster burgers, which is basically a cheeseburger salad. It was a better way to enjoy a burger vs. lettuce wrap. The patty was just right and the greens were fresh. I've included a photo of the one I had with provolone cheese, grilled mushrooms and grilled onions. We will definitely return. We enjoyed dinner outside on a picnic bench. At first it doesn't look like much, but upon going in you are amazed by all the country/farm decorations really gives the whole restaurant a "family owned" vibe. The service is one of the best since the manager took me and my sons order. shes had the best attitude ive seen from a cashier since other cashier have a ugly attitude ( im talking to you Mcdonald's!) i ordered the Tripple crown burger and my son ordered the Blue Ribbon burger. The food was Ammmaazing everything was perfectly cooked. At the end i got me and my son a cookie. The cookies were soo good 10/10, They were so good my son wanted seconds. Overall this place is really underrated and if I were to fix something from this restaurant it would be the pricing. read more

My grandson has seafood allergies. So being careful we ask did they use the same grease for the chicken and the fish and they replied yes. Had we not ask he would have gotten sick. Who does that?
