Service was amazing, friendly and prompt. Never had an empty coffee cup! I got the corn beef hash with hasbrowns and we ordered a Dutch baby to share. First time having that as it was different. The server mentioned to use the powered sugar and lemon or do maple syrup or just plain. We split the Dutch baby into 8 slices with each quadrant having different toppings. I came here for breakfast on Sunday with my mom and son and it was very delicious. I got the biscuits and gravy which came with eggs, bacon, and a side of pancakes which I chose the bacon pancakes. Excellent choice for a reasonably priced breakfast. It wasn't busy and the service was excellent. They were willing to sit me even though my dining companion wasn't there. It was a laid-back ambiance with friendly, attentive staff. The coffee is serviceable, neither amazing nor poor quality. Everything was very warm and delicious. I subbed French toast for the pancakes for the cherry sauce. Definitely a good choice (although now I want to go back for pancakes!). The omelette was decent sized and filling. Everything was so finely chopped none of the items or flavors were distinct. No complaints from my companion about the senior discounted banana pancakes or the crispy bacon (an extra). It's not super often that a restaurant is worth the hype. But lemme tell you, this place is 1000% worth the hype. Staff is super friendly, servers are great, food is great - not like tons of butter fake make you sick kinda great, but like it's good real food and cooked beautifully and the value for what you get is fantastic. $35 for all this and it was enough to feed at least 5. Grateful to have always lived near a location of The Original Pancake House - California, Illinois, and now Texas! This location is fantastic. Love that they have the Yelp waitlist option. We added our names to the waitlist before leaving home, and after checking in with the host upon arrival only had to wait for 5 minutes for a table! The wait is otherwise insane. After being seated in a cozy booth, we enjoyed hot coffees and perused the extensive menu. After much consideration, we decided to order the banana pancakes to share, along with a bacon and eggs combo. The bacon and eggs combo came with hashbrowns. The bacon was too chewy for my personal taste, and hash browns lacked salt/flavor. The eggs were cooked per our request just fine. The banana pancakes were the star of our breakfast. Served hot off the griddle, these pancakes were soft and fresh. They came topped with banana slices and were served with fresh butter + syrup. First time I tried one of these was in Vegas and was really happy with it since I love pancakes. Yea this is a typical diner like ihop or dennys but their food tastes good unlike the other places. The service from the host area to wait staff was pleasant and very friendly. Food was good, pretty traditional and expected for a pancake place. We ordered Migas and couple of kids plates. Portions were good, solid I would say, bottomless regular coffee was a nice addition. The only thing is, staff should mention if something on menu would cost extra. That would help to avoid any confusion at the end. We got ham with kids menu, I wanted them to try, they did not want it. Ended up paying up charge of $3-4 at the end. Again, no big deal, but since no one ate eat I still had to pay, and knowing cost upfront I may not ordering it. In overall it was a very pleasant experience, I would definitely come back. Freshly squeezed with a hint of additional sugar. I got the lone star Benedict, just the perfect size. The biscuit was soft and the sausage tasted homemade. The meat lovers scramble was loaded with meat. Their hashbrowns are also very good! Ask for it to be well done though. The Apple pancake takes a while to cook, so order that the moment you sit down. We got it to go. The pancake is more of an eggy custard base and not like your typical American pancake batter. It's not overly sweet. The coffee is also amazing TO ME. Take that lightly as I am a tea person. Hahahaha. But to me, it's one of only two places where I drink coffee because it's that good. The pancakes are also delicious, light, and fluffy. Service is always on point. I don't know how the servers keep a smile because this place is always busy. Even during weekdays. Please note if you get the Dutch Baby, it will take about 25 mins but I always request the eggs and meat come out when available so I can get some protein in before the CARBS. Hey, I do what I can to focus on eating order and speed to control any spikes and then just do a quick run after. Life is about balance.
