Absolutely phenomenal food, drinks, and service! After trying their pizza at Maifest a couple weeks back, the guy I am dating (NY native) and I decided to check out the actual restaurant. The New York style by-the-slice pizza is AMAZING (size, quality, options to choose from). Although you can get some beers on tap downstairs, we opted to head upstairs and the good times only continued! On the second floor there is great seating, TVs and a great bar. This is where we had the absolutely best time!!!!! BRENDON Y. was our BARTENDER-EXTRAORDINAIRE! I have list of allergies nearly half a mile long and it has almost become standard to have bartenders roll their eyes or offer some run-of-the-mill drink that is mediocre. Without missing a beat, Brendon made a couple of drinks tailored to what I can/cannot have. He had a pleasant attitude and welcomed my questions. His wealth of knowledge is incredible. They have old fashioned drinks, as well which was a totally new concept to me. When i decided to try one he made sure to find the proper whiskey around my allergens. He double and triple checked with other staff and never once gave a negative attitude. He was happy to do it! When we went to leave we decided to check out the patio space. They have wonderful seating on their upper and lower decks. On the weekends they even have an outdoor bar. We definitely want to go back, soon! read more

I am a HUGE fan of this location. Not only is the pizza amazing, but every single time I go I have a pleasant conversation with the staff, or straight up just hang out and have fun with the staff. They make a casual stroll with lunch into a fun time and I cannot recommend this location enough. I used to think this was the best pizza in Cin/NKY however the last visit a few weeks ago left me unimpressed. First and foremost was the lack of flavor or blandness of the pizza. The sauce wasn't what I remembered and the crust, which I love crust, seemed to overpower The whole thing. It was chewy and not as crisp as I like or remembered. I may return but not as often. The "Goodfella" is comprised of hand-tossed dough (you should watch 'em make your pie), a layer foe awesome sauce, cheese, pepperoni, sausage, ground beef and glorious bacon. Best pie I've ever had. It took three years but can finally say we found the best pizza in Cincinnati area. Normally we stop in and get a variety of slices to go. Everyone gets what they want , but sometimes selection is light. Love the meatballs. Most places offer ground beef, but not here. Sign of a true pizzeria. 5/9/21 about 2 in the afternoon. Stopped in and went up to Wiseguys Lounge to try some bourbon and have lunch. Devin was the bartender, and actual bartender not just a drink slinger. Friendly and knowledgeable. Made us feel at home like old friends. The pizza wasn't great but it was above average. Great selection of bourbon and prices weren't too bad. After lunch went out on covered patio and a had a drink and cigar. All in all had and excel experience. Will be back with fiends. read more

Best pizza I've had in a looooooong time. Staff was the best!! We bought some T-shirts and there was trouble with one of the sizes. The manager gave us a extra one the next size up. Blew me away!! Please remove the good for kids label. This place doesn't allow kids period. Attempted to eat here and we were told children aren't allowed upstairs because it's a bar area. We arrived early like 5pm the place was nearly empty I'm not sure why we weren't allowed to eat here there are no laws in Kentucky that say this but we were refused anyway. The pizza is good, a little greasy maybe. What you should expect ordering by the slice New York style pizza in Covington, KY. However, the lounge upstairs is fully stocked and makes some of the best specialty cocktails you'll find in the Mainstrasse area. Around $10 for the featured drinks, more standard pricing for beer and typical liquor drinks. It may seem a bit pricey, but if you're going to actually appreciate good drink making and not just get see how drunk you can get, it's well worth it. There are two ways to experience Goodfellas Pizzeria in Mainstrasse. There's the 2 am throng of people when the bars close and the line goes out the door of folks wanting to grab a slice before heading home and then there's arriving at a regular dining hour, sitting down, ordering a pizza made just for you, and having a meal that absolutely blows your mind! Both are good -- but I highly recommend the latter! Despite all the high praise I'd heard about Goodfellas from friends in Lexington where the first location opened, I admit I was skeptical of the umpteenth pizzeria moving into Mainstrasse where pizza joints are as ubiquitous as fire hydrants. But the very first time I walked past the storefront and smelled the pizza (in perhaps the greatest marketing ploy ever, the oven vents right by the door) -- I knew something special was literally and figuratively cooking! My first Goodfellas experience and several others were of the late night variety. When I first walked into the Mainstrasse location I was struck by how small it seemed. No tables on the first floor, just a narrow counter along the length of the establishment and some stools for people to eat. But they also have an outdoor area (a patio out back and tables out front in summer on the sidewalk), but that's obviously not viable in the winter months. Thankfully the upstairs Wiseguy Lounge has enough room so you can have a seat and order a pizza made to order. The pizza by the slice was very good, but I confess it just didn't match my ginned up olfactory expectations (or perhaps my "ginned up" mind). I had a couple lunch experiences there -- I really like the lunch special where for $6 you get a drink, a slice of pizza, and a bread stick which is as tasty as it is huge (it looks like bottom two-thirds of a baseball bat). Being a vegetarian, I think of all the pizzas that they sell by the slice I enjoyed the spinach and artichoke the most. Then there's one with onion and bell pepper that's tasty, and of course the late night stalwart, "cheese" when most of the pies available are otherwise meat-centric. But it wasn't until I sat down and ordered a whole pizza, that for me, the taste finally aligned with the effervescent emanations that captured my attention that first day on the sidewalk -- when my friend and I found ourselves upstairs in the Wiseguy Lounge hours before a Monday Night Football game last fall. Despite several chairs being available we decided to sit at the bar. When I first sat down I couldn't help but be tempted by the bourbon selection -- it's impressive even for Kentucky! But the rotating selection of draft beers is absolutely top notch. Really not a bad choice to be made. Another benefit of sitting at the bar is the show, the bar is manned by true mixologists and watching them formulate cocktails is almost as much fun as drinking them .... almost. Of the 11 specialty pizzas they offer, four are vegetarian: Wiseguy, The Vinny, Taste of Naples, and The Bootlegger. Plus, I suspect the Jimmy the Gent could become a terrific veggie pizza if they hold the bacon (if they let you add sun-dried tomatoes, imagine it would be even better!) My friend and I settled on The Bootlegger, he's not a vegetarian but it was just easier to order one pizza. As we finished our second beer our pizza arrived. They say your first taste is with your eyes, well I was crying tears of salivation. The pizza looked fantastic! Crust was just right, baked up on the edges with those little singe marks that make gives the crust that true pizza oven flavor. The cheese was perfectly melted and the toppings were cooked to an equally perfect consistency. The pizza tasted even better than it looked! I think together we polished off that medium pizza in about 12 minutes. Even my meat eating friend thought it was exceptional! I've since returned to the Goodfellas location in Mainstrasse twice to order pizza and even ventured across the river to the OTR location (all the same accolades describe that location, except for the fact that the location is more spacious!) Now this is the point where I'd love to compare and contrast the other three veggie pizzas to The Bootlegger. Except, I confess, despite my wanting to try the other pies -- I can't not order The Bootlegger -- it's too good to miss! I have to have it every time! I'll try to sample the others in the future, perhaps ordering two small pizzas -- but I'm just a flawed human being that loves him some delicious pizza and The Bootlegger is near perfection! If you're looking for a place to get a slice late at night, Goodfellas is the place to go. But if you really want to have a transcendent pizza experience, Goodfellas is the place to go .... you just have to choose the right time .... and it should be sooner rather than later! read more

I eat at the OTR location and the Covington location as well as the food truck when I see it. Always my first choice for pizza :) No 5 stars because they are *Some-what child UN friendly*. We were there tonight around 6:30 PM and ate on the back patio (as all other seating was taken) Many kids around. But all the employees were coming out to smoke on the back patio for their breaks and we heard very vulgar language without regard for the children around. If it were 9 or 10 PM, I would understand. This place is great to stop for a quick bite to eat. Their lunch special is cheap and totally filling (a huge slice of pizza, a breadstick that's probably 18 inches long and a drink all for $6). The one downfall to the place was the lack of seating available. All of the seating at this location was outside unless you wanted to sit at a bar area (and we had small children so that wasn't feasible for us). Some people like that kinda thing. Not me. There was absolutely NO place to sit. We went to the 2nd floor where the bar is and had our hands full of pizza and drinks and the guy stopped us on the stairs for ID's! Seriously!?! I'm old enough to be his mom. Also there's no plan for people picking up carry out orders so they just plow into an already crowded space. I am very picky about my pizza. When I saw this four and a half stars I thought this is a must. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't a sit down and serve me. If I could give it zero stars I would. I was in there yesterday after the Bengals game trying to get a slice of pizza. We waited at the counter (in front of a sign that said your pizza journey starts here)for what seemed like forever with a line of people behind us. It became so crowded and uncomfortable I literally had to ask the people behind the counter how do I order food? Not a great quality in a restaurant. At which point they told me to wait where I was waiting. There were four people behind the counter the entire time I was there one guy on the phone, one guy cooking, two other people folding boxes. When the line behind me became so long that the door to the restaurant could no longer be shut, a girl came up to take my order. I ordered two slices of pizza which were thrown into a box. Not put back in the oven to warm. My box was put by a cash register and then the girl disappeared. I stood there and waited for several minutes for someone to check me out. The people behind me were also not being served and it seemed like we were going to have to wait an incredibly long time to eat the cold and probably under cooked pizza. At this point I've been in this restaurant for at least 10 to 15 minutes trying to get a slice of pizza. So I said forget it and we left. Huge waste of time, horrible customer service. I can't comment on the food since I wasn't actually able to get any. The staff seemed entirely bothered that there were customers there in the first place. read more
