We had the opportunity to taste some slices at my brother in laws house. They grabbed a few different pies; cheese, veggie and a sausage with peppers. They also grabbed breadsticks with marinara sauce. The pizza slices were large and in charge. But the flavor was just mediocre to me. It might also help if I was a pizza fan to begin with. The breadsticks were just one giant long stick. Probably about 3 1/2 feet of dough backed and folded in a box with Parmesan, butter and other Italian herbs rubbed on. Not bad more fun to goof off about than to eat. We won't be itching to return for a pizza fix but I won't turn it away if it's offered by another! read more

We come here A LOT. Wise Guys up top, no complaints. This is the second time I have been to Goodfellas for pizza (not even here for drinks) and have been treated like shit by the workers. Tonight, they yelled at us to shut the door because their oven was not cooking. We came inside, because it is 30 degrees, and we were yelled at like we were criminals. This is actually my second time witnessing the staff here "flex their muscles" with patrons. As a resident and tax-payer of Covington, only a few blocks from here, this is embarrassing and needs to be fixed. read more

The customer service here is quirky and wonderful. The ambiance is unique and authentic. I ordered a slice of pepperoni pie and it was just ok; nothing to write home about. It wasn't good enough to make me want to go back. There's a thin sitting area along the wall but a cool bar upstairs called The Wiseguy Lounge. You can sit at the bar there or in the several lounge chairs they have. An interesting place but, sadly, the pizza's not a draw. read more

I have now been there three times in three weeks! Visit once and Goodfellas just calls to you... no, screams at you, like a mother in Brooklyn screaming down through a 2nd story window: "QUIT PLAYIN' STICKBAWL AN' GET UP HEAH! DINNAH'S READY!" And you do. You throw the stick and run. Not to shut the screaming harpy up, but because dinner's THAT good. Goodfellas, with it's gangster kitsch and New York feel seems like it's going to be another crappy theme-chain. You'd be forgiven thinking this, but you wouldn't forgive yourself if you let that make you pass up a deliciously huge, greasy slice of New York's finest pie. Truly New York style pizza (as close as you can get without a subway ride) is served up by the gigantic slice, or by the pie. Yes, you can order more human-sized pizzas too, or you can take home a New York sized pie as well. And it's goooood! Especially fresh out of the oven. Granted, if you get a slice that had sat and cooled, you get what you'd expect, but ask them to toss it in the oven for you first and you'll be a happy camper. And as my Wright quote alluded, yes they stretch the dough by flinging it in the air. Not only does this offer a bit of showmanship, but it makes the crust chewy, yet crisp and perfectly thin without becoming a cracker-wafer or a soggy tissue. Their sauce tastes wonderful as well, without being too dry or too sloppy. Pizza perfection is why I haven't yet missed a week coming here. The staff here are very friendly, whether you're the only one there, or crammed in with the last-call crowd. They also stay open late on Thursdays and Fridays (presumably Saturday as well), so it's a perfect time to drop in for a couple of slices after a night of imbibing. The kitchen is also very clean! Surprisingly so, as I've seen it just as clean on a slow evening, as well as a crazy-busy 2:30 am Saturday morning. Ok so I am a bit of a pizza snob. Just am. It is what it is. I must say, Goodfellas is beyond strong. Almost makes me want to go out and join the mob, because it is that criminal. OK, so that was a little corny...The pizza I ordered was monsterous. 22inches and had to put them in the trunk as they were too big for the back or front seat. Incredibly good pizza located convienently in the Mainstrasse village. While there if you have the chance go upstairs to visit the Wiseguys bar - fantastic new bar with over 100 bourbons and a very helpful/friently bartending crew! Yum! Came here last night before hitting the town and tried the house salad and the immigrant pizza. The salad wasn't exciting, but I was pleasantly surprised that is was good greens instead of just iceberg like you might get at other pizza joints. The bread sticks looked to be about 15" long too. The only place in the Cincinnati area to get good New York style pizza. The lunch special is the best deal in town. A slice of pizza the size of your head, a side (go with the 2-foot-long breadstick), and a soft drink for only $6! Speaking of soft drinks, you must get the Ale-8. I'm pretty sure they're the only place in Northern KY that has Ale-8 on fountain. The tap selection upstairs is awesome too, so be sure to grab a pint. My friends rave over their Manhattans and Old Fashioneds too. The employees are all very friendly and energetic as well. This place is a can't miss if you crave New York style pizza. read more

Pro tip. If you don't have the ingredients to make an item on your menu, 86 the item. Don't charge me for it and then inform me after the fact that because of a menu change several items meant to go in my order are unavailable. This in no way reflect my opinion towards the staff at this location. If I could rate them separately the staff would get 5 stars. I work in a successful restaurant. Not sure what's happen to this location if it's the pandemic or what. Came in Last night and got dirty looks from the bigger dude making pizza and the guy next to him had tats not sure names. No one would speak they just both continued to make pizza and talk amongst selves not sure how this is service. Bigger guy finally came over to ask what we wanted the pizza window/case was almost empty few slices of old pep and a weird meat combo zero breadsticks and only pizza sauce as a dipper that we could see. Didn use gloves to put our slices on foil to heat it back up. Pizza definitely tasted old the sauce was off not the normal flavors and the dough was darker than normal on bottom. Past month or so service has been like this and quality is just gone. Couldn't let this slide anymore we won't be coming back unfortunately Mayb a new staff or management comes in we might give it a chance again but this place definitely has gone down hill including cleanliness :/ read more

Great pizza and a wonderful addition to Mainstrasse! The pizza is New York style (aka large!) and the place offers some great choices. My favorite thing to order are their calzones which at $8 is a great value! They easily can feed two people and can be customized with any of the pizza toppings. The lounge upstairs is also pretty nice and great to get away from the loud Mainstrasse bar scene. The downstairs is nice but there isn't a lot of seating inside as it is mostly bar-style. There is seating in the back patio and out front but during the winter months it is best to just take it to go. read more

Goodfells is a new pizza joint that has opened up in Mainstrause and if you're out enjoying a few beers and need a late night snack- Goodfellas is an okay place to go. My husband and I went out for a few drinks one Saturday night and decided to grab a small 16 inch pizza to take home. It was okay. I found that the sauce was very peppery and even with ordering extra cheese, there's not enough on there for my liking. I guess there's a shortage in the cheese world? They offer a 'pay per slice' option if you only want one piece, or you can order an actual pizza. The plus side is you can grab a beer and watch tv while you wait. I wouldn't make it a point to go here for dinner but grabbing a slice or a whole pie on the way home from the bars is a good idea. I've never tried Lucy Blue's pizza, so I can't compare to other late night pizza joints in the area, but this does beat the heck out of Taco Bell or White Castle. read more

Pizza!!!! By the slice or by the pie. They have creative pre-made pizzas to choose your slice from- always some new combination I've never tried and it always ends up being amazing!! The only thing I can say is, make sure to have them warm your slice up in the oven if it looks like it's been sitting awhile. Perfect mix of crispy and chewy on the crust, more than ample portions, and an obvious attention to quality ingredients with the toppings. I live in the neighborhood and I've grown tired of the local fare but, Goodfellas never disappoints. Tonight I went upstairs to Wise Guys Lounge. I placed a to go order and had a drink. By the time I got downstairs to get my order, they had given it to someone else. Those other people should be lovin' my veggie calzone. :) Goodfellas were so sorry, they offered me another drink, dessert all while making my order. I was very impressed with how quickly and friendly they corrected the error. The calzone was pipping hot still by the time I walked it home. I'm enjoying it now as a matter of fact. Thank you guys! I really enjoy this pizza place! Upon entering, there is a great atmosphere with some form of pop music, which visibly puts people in a good mood. You can watch the pizza masters create the pies as you wait in a short line to get a slice or pie! The staff is friendly and upbeat and the prices are unbeatable. Would gladly give it 5 STARS but every single time we have gone in, they have not been prepared to offer 100% of their online menu. Drives me nuts! I am so eager to try it all that it's breaking my heart. The Pizza is mind-blowing...and I never say that. I can always complain about something. Not with these, unbelievable. All grade A quality and so far I have not bothered with just a one topping or some lame pizza like I would everywhere else. We get THE DON, WISEGUY, OR GOODFELLA or just go home! Super-secret-top-secret awesomeness. I so dig and jones for this place it's not funny. The pizza is as authentic as it gets for NYC style pizza in our area (NKY/Cincinnati). It's all about the crust and it's thin, crispy and there's a bevy of local craft beers to complement your experience. Recently went to the adorable Main Strausse in Covington and tried out Goodfellas. When I walked in, immediately the guys working greeted me and engaged in conversation. They seem like fun. Although the pizza offerings in the case looked good, I was determined to taste my own freshly-made pizza. We decided on Paulie's Favorite Pizza: Italian sausage, garlic sausage crumble, green peppers, red onions, and roasted garlic. Grabbed a couple of beers, and went to sit on the front sidewalk to people watch while we waited. Although it was a Wednesday evening in mid-March, the weather was cooperating... and luckily so were the patrons of the street. It was funny, no one said much to us as we sat outside... until the pizza arrived. Most people who walked by commented on our pizza: sometimes to each other- and sometimes to us. The pizza looked delicious and tasted even better. I'm from Texas, where bigger is better. I generally like a thicker crust- but they have got this buttery delight down! I gobbled it up, because if I didn't, some stranger walking by probably would. One guy literally asked if he could buy a slice off of us (We sent him inside). When I returned the pizza plate, they asked how it was and added that they roasted their own garlic for the pizza. Added bonus! Great pizza. Hope to return soon! read more

I was willing to wait because, especially fresh, the bread sticks are amazing. In my original order I had also ordered two slices.
