    Simpson's Way

This was my first trip to the Cincinnati area. Walking into Goodfellows, it felt like a typical sports bar, with plenty of TV screens on the wall. However, I quickly realized this was not a typical sports bar. They specialize in pizza, sandwiches, and other items. I will say Goodfellows had a very comfortable atmosphere and plenty of people in there. Always a good sign! Our waitress was extremely friendly as well. Being in a new part of the country, I decided on a very different pizza. I went with Simpson's Way. This has Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, pulled pork, bacon, pineapple, and crushed BBQ Grippo's chips. I will first say the crust was the perfect thickness and prepared perfectly. It was a magnificent balance of flavors with the BBQ sauce, pulled pork, bacon, pineapple, and chips. After a coupe bites, I was surprised by the spice, which I assume comes from the BBQ chips. Honestly, this was one of the best pizza's I've ever had. Everyone talks about getting pizza in New York, Chicago, etc. But I've had incredible pizza in Ohio, Alaska, and Oregon. Each place preparing pizza's utilizing local ingredients or just preparing a great pizza. If you find yourself in the Cincinnati area and are in the mood for some pizza, please give Goodfellows a try. They have a large selection along with build your own. You won't be disappointed.

Giant slices, excellent service, yum pizza, easy go to spot! In town visiting for Sonic Temple, definitely a go back spot next year!

The food here is delicious and every staff member was very kind. I really enjoyed the ambiance and found myself dancing along to the music. I will definitely be back!

Service is terrific, with friendly and welcoming staff, combined with ample seating and a great location at the south end of Short North. The pizza, tho, is entirely average for a pizzeria in such a hip area. Got the sausage and onion as it was available immediately, it did the job, crust wasn't super thin but wasn't too thick either. Pepperoni came out later and did not look any more impressive to me.

22 inches of delicious pizza crust to crust!

Ordered the 22 inch pizza and was blown away by how large and delicious the pizza was! Best priced pizza in town and best taste! The pizza gets shown to you once it's finished cooking to make sure it's to your liking, and it has the classic brick wall exposed pizza oven look any great pizza joint has! We loved it so much we ordered two pizzas to take on our trip home!

Best pizza ever! I took my family here for my wife's graduation celebration and we enjoyed every moment being there. The service was top notch and the atmosphere was laid back. We will definitely be back again!

    Lunch special $10.00!

Pizza was really good. The team was super friendly and I had no issues. Good variety of pizza by this slice. Music was super cool and the Lounge in the back of the building look like a lot of fun. I was there just for lunch so didn't try cocktails but the bar look like a fun place to have a drink!

    Pizza slice

Loved the pizza slice, thin and crispy crust and excellent flavor. Walked in around midnight, good crowd. They had ready pizza with banana peppers and pineapple. Looked interesting, turned to be an excellent choice. Loved their hot sauce.

    Large cheese pie

Came here in a Saturday after doing some shopping. Ordered a large cheese pizza to share with the family. We opted to dine in. Pizza came out faster than the 35 minutes we were quoted. Pizza was hot and fresh. The place was well lit and had adequate seating. Now as far as the pizza, it lacked flavor all around. Very bland pizza. I was very disappointed. Nothing about the pizza had the robust NYC flavor. The sauce a bit too tart for my liking. I'd say it's a spot to grab a slice quickly, but definitely will never order a full pie again.

    Goodfellas is right.

I really enjoyed the lively atmosphere and the friendly service. The staff genuinely seemed happy to see and serve guests. I loved the pizza-by-the-slice option, with a perfectly crisp crust and fresh, flavorful ingredients. The sauce had a lovely sweetness that complemented the toppings. The place was spotless and conveniently located near the convention center, making it a perfect go-to spot. It's spacious enough for a large group if you're with friends or colleagues. Plus, they stay open late, serving up delicious mixed drinks and beers.

Spring mix salad, fresh with lots of veggies. Calzone with shrooms and spinach, spot on. Cannoli, rich filling and choc chips with perfectly crispy pastry shell. Left with a slice of cheese pie, $4.50 and big enough to fold in half, cant go wrong. Great location, fast service, good atmosphere. Adding this place to my list of favorites.

Green pepper, red onion, and banana pepper pizza slice...and The Beard!

We…read morespent over $80 on a to-go order that included two Gina's Gem, a big cheese pizza, and a salad. The pizza arrived cold but was still edible. Unfortunately, the Gina's Gem was nothing like what was advertised. I was expecting warm, crusty bread with a roasted cheese dip on the side so you could tear pieces of bread and dip them into the cheese. Instead, the cheese had already been spread directly onto the bread and toasted together. Because of that, the bread lost the texture you would expect--it wasn't crusty or dippable at all. It ended up soft, almost soggy, and the cheese was baked onto the bread rather than being a dip. The whole appeal of the dish was supposed to be the warm bread with the roasted cheese to dip into, and that part was completely missing. Included with the bread was a hot honey that missed the mark on being "hot" and some kind of jam. These options just made everything even more soft....which should have been impossible. The salad was actually the best part of the meal - even though it was a bit spicy. I've always had good experiences here in the past, so this was a big letdown--especially for the price. I just wish the to-go version of the dish matched how it's described, or that expectations were set correctly when ordering. Unfortunately, this experience made me lose all trust in ordering from here again. I can't believe we waited until exactly 3pm (when they opened) to order this.... At the very least the pizza should have been hot.

Both pizzas left us speechless as well, I really don't think you can go wrong with whatever you order. Service was great, food was prepared quickly, and there is plenty of seating and a bar area. The sandwich was honestly the highlight of the meal. It was delicious, and the pizza dough as the bread was such a unique touch that you really don't find at many Italian sandwich spots around Columbus. The pizza itself was just okay. As you can see from the picture, the toppings weren't distributed very evenly, so some slices had mostly sauce with barely any cheese while others had way more toppings and cheese but less sauce. I also wish the pizza had been cooked a little longer overall because it was pretty floppy and doughy. One thing that makes it tough is that once the movie starts, it's hard to go back and ask for changes or anything since the theater is packed and getting in and out of the seats feels disruptive. We'll definitely be back to Grandview Theater because we love the experience overall, but next time I'll probably stick to the sandwiches and popcorn and skip the pizza.

It definitely gave me hope for the more meat-heavy pizza options that I tend to prefer.

The kind of spot where you expect a solid beer and maybe some decent bar food. What you don't expect? One of the best Detroit-style pizzas of your life hiding behind a window in the back like some carb-based speakeasy. And when I say hidden, I mean hidden. No flashy signage. No "best pizza in town" ego. Just a quiet little window cranking out square pies that deserve a standing ovation. I ordered the classic red top -- already a bold move -- and added pesto because balance matters and I like to live a little. The result? Beyond reproach. Fresh, loaded toppings. Sauce with depth. And that crust... that beautiful Detroit crust. Crispy edges with that caramelized cheese halo, but still chewy and pillowy inside. The textural contrast is what separates amateurs from legends -- and this? This was legend-level execution. Easily top 3 Detroit-style pizzas I've had. And that's not a casual statement. When I arrived around 10pm on a Sunday night, the place looked like it was in transition to closing (chairs flipped over on tables, no patrons, staff members watching TV in empty booths). However, I was welcomed in to order by the friendly woman at the counter. She answered a few of my questions and when I asked what her favorite was, she immediately said, "Buckeye Garlic Pizza." I took her advice and was also able to add up to three toppings at no additional charge (mushroom, olive and sausage). I took a seat and waited about 10 minutes for my personal 10" pie, which came out hot and with a friendly, "Thank You, Sweetie." I ran the pie back to my hotel and opened up the box. The pie looked amazing. Perfectly crispy outer crust, six cheeses and garlic, along with my toppings. The pie was pretty damn good, with steam coming off the top. The six-cheese blend was interesting, with the dominant flavors being American and Cheddar. The sausage, olives and mushrooms were all fresh and plentiful. Definitely a good option to satisfy my hunger for a late night pizza in Downtown Columbus.
