Really cute little coffee/lunch spot. Atmosphere is nice for lunch or to grab a quick coffee. I got the Thai chicken salad and the golden milk. The salad was good, I was hoping for more Thai flavors but it was still fresh and filling ($12) the golden milk was SO good. Definitely going to try and replicate it at home. It's warmed coconut milk, turmeric, cinnamon and black pepper. It sounds like a strange mix but it was a great hot alternative to a coffee beverage. Service was awesome. The only reason I didn't give five stars was it was a little pricey, I live and dine in Encinitas so I guess it was expected. Will definitely be coming back in the future. This place knocks it out of the park. I am in from out of town and found this spot after a little research (I do not eat out at most places with processed oils/ingredients). I've gotten several things from here now and all are incredible, fresh tasting and with no hesitation made with delicious, whole, real ingredients. Next, Our waitress seemed to be on some kind of mellow drug and it took a very long time to actually get our order. Sweet, but not too sweet and it doesn't taste like you're eating pickled ginger like some of the store bought ones either. First and foremost, I appreciate and value what they are all about....organic, non-processed, GMO free. This was my first time trying out dinner and it was good. I placed the take out order for my daughter and I as I finished up hot yoga down the street and was told a 10-15 minute wait. I walked in to pick up my order after 10 minutes and after a few minutes the gentleman discovered there was an issue and the cooks never received the ticket for the food. Not that big of a deal, but I was sitting in soaking wet yoga clothes, and starving, and my food hadn't even been prepared yet. Sigh. Here's where I felt like they could have done better....an apology that I had to wait an EXTRA 10-15 minutes would have been welcomed and appropriate for their mistake (which made it a 30 minute wait for a salad and a couple tacos in soaking wet clothes...ugh!), maybe offering a cold drink (yes, water was sitting out, but the act of actively apologizing would have been appreciated). Again, I will be back, but in the future would hope that if they make a mistake they might take responsibility for it and show me value and appreciation of my time through a verbal apology or something. I dislike how you constantly have to remind staff for Knife and Forks or chase them for the drink you ordered even after your food arrived. I haven't really experienced this but colleagues have also found certain wait staff unfriendly and cold. As someone who can't have dairy, this place is PARADISE. The menu is super creative and unique- dairy free cheesecake and some kombucha alcohol that was too delicious to properly explain. My friend and I did our best to indulge in as many yummy choices as we could, and I can't wait to go back and try more of new menu. It's super cute and so casually trendy inside. The food was good but not worth the high price. We had French toast, a turkey cranberry sandwich (which was tiny) with a small bowl of chips (which they forgot to give us) and the beet salad with 3 drinks. Our bill was $71! I was extremely exhausted and fatigued from the night before, so I needed something filling as well as a boost of energy. I ordered the protein scramble (without mushrooms) and a coffee. BOTH of the items were exactly what I needed and the flavor profiles were on point. My server, Rachel, was very friendly and consistently checked on me throughout dining experience. When our meal finally came out 45 minutes later for eggs we were told there was NO hot sauce, seriously how do you run out of hot sauce in Southern California?? I ordered an ice coffee to go but wasn't asked if I wanted cream or sugar so just went back to the coffee bar to get what I needed. Food was decent but definitely not worth the 1/2 ass mimosa, missing muffin, no hot sauce and $30. Oh and the whole joint has one bathroom for the men, women, and staff... Across the street you have Swamis and maybe before they had this tableservice you had folks just there drinking coffee all night and hanging out without the urge to just move on and turn over the table. But seriously I'm there ordering alcohol plus full meals for myself and children and they upcharge me for a couple extra pieces of bread to go along with my kids soup? The serving sizes are quite small I did not receive even a full glass of wine and we left fairly hungry, but the worst was when I asked for my check in mid bite, instead of just dropping a bill discreetly to my side and the waitress shouts out OK that'll be 49.99. I was supposed to apparently whip out my credit card at that moment to pay her on her cellular device. I waved her away as that was not what I was going to do it that moment but realized I didn't even get to see the bill since it was on her device so I had to awkwardly look over her shoulder later only to realize she had charged the kids full adult price for their kids meals and had to go make an adjustment to take quite a bit off of my bill.
