We have an elderly Newfoundland and having an XL dog breed in Phoenix is often rare, we had seen 2 other vet offices in our time here and it was a challenge to get anything from them. But at GoodVets they respond right away and send any records I need asap. They answer any questions we have about our guy and have been integral in his care the past few years. My 2.5 year old has been going here since she was 12 weeks old. Dr C is nice, and the staff has been sweet. Today I brought my dog in for a potential UTI. I was fine w the $177 for the 5 min vet visit and $86 antibiotics. Then when she finally peed I brought in her urine sample to be tested, which they told me NEEDED to be done. 5 min later they told me she was fine, no UTI. THEN THEY CHARGED ME $173 for the test! What?! This place deserves a red flag for not warning the client of the price until after it has been given. Time to find a better vet for Marley. read more

I am writing a review about the last experience I had with Dr. Charlton and this clinic back at the end of 2024, which prompted me to fire them, because I was curious to see if she has continued to be ignorant about her duty, and I was proven right when I saw the latest one star review about someones loss of their pet as a result of her malpractice. I had taken my dog to have her skin inflammation issue looked at as she had been licking at it for a while, irritating the area, as well as having consistent itchiness all over. This doctor only provided a mousse to apply to her skin to supposedly help. She didn't advise me to get her any sort of testing done. I realized she may simply be an unprofessional and lazy person, so I took my senior dog to Scottsdale Animal Healthcare for a second opinion and they very confidently told me based on her symptoms that this was a thyroid issue. They ordered her Thyroid levels to be checked and we found out she had hypothyroidism, so we got her on a thyroid supplement and the nasty skin problem she had disappeared for good! I am so glad I went with my gut and didn't trust this doctor. I don't think she is educated enough to be an ethical veterinarian. I highly recommend Scottsdale Animal Healthcare! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this veterinary office! I found them about six months ago, and although I've had more unexpected visits than usual with Nuggy (he's almost 12), every experience has been exceptional. No matter who I interact with, the entire team is consistently kind, thorough, and genuinely helpful -- which makes all the difference when you're feeling panicked about what's going on with your fur baby. Special shoutout to Dr. Kiles, who has been incredibly patient and detailed during every visit. He takes the time to walk through all the options, explaining each one clearly, and always recommends the most reasonable ones first -- never jumping to extremes. Example: we were able to capture the perfect X-Ray in 1 imager versus 3, identifying bladder stones. This, of course, helped cut down costs for me, which means a lot as a single mom! We've also added some OTC supplements that have been a game-changer for Nuggy's moderate arthritis. Beyond the services, the office itself is clean, welcoming, and well-organized. It feels comfortable. I'm so grateful to have found them and could not be happier with the switch. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a vet who truly cares -- both about their patients and their humans! read more

2nd Visit another wonderful experience. This time my cat Billy suddenly became very ill and had to be hospitalized. Dr. Goeddeke did her magic with the wonderful team here. They quickly were able to find out what was going on. They got my boy on IV fluids right away and took great care of him throughout the day. I picked him up and was given very clear discharge instructions. Again the charges were lower than expected. I can't say enough good things about my experience here. The front desk staff was very attentive and genuine. She made conversation with me while I waited & loved on my dog. The vet text was equally as wonderful. The Vet, dr Peterson, was exceptional. I made a last minute appointment here for a foreign body X-ray. Dr Peterson went over my options and it was very obvious he had a wealth of knowledge as well as connections. When the X-rays came back saying my dog needed immediate surgery, he was on the phone at the same time I was, calling for quotes. He made sure I knew he was a person first , and showed empathy towards our situation. Before heading to the animal hospital, dr Peterson made sure to contact the surgeon himself. He called me on the following Saturday at 8 in the morning to check on Otis and make sure he was doing okay. Really wonderful customer / client service. I've been one of those people that avoid vets at all costs. My experiences have never been good. I've always left feeling scammed and that the people caring for my animal didn't care. Was asked to do multiple treatments that were not consistent with the reason I bought my dog in. Routine procedures way over priced. The vet dr charlton spent maybe 5 minutes with me and they took my dog back to do some looking over and treatment. The vet assistant came back with a bunch of meds with no real explanation of what was going on and the actual vet never came back in to discuss what she saw or why all the meds. $360 plus later with out any real explanation or vet advice.. terrible experience read more

So happy we found GoodVets! The office is very clean and the staff is great. We took our dog in for what we thought was a minor issue but turned out to be a lot more serious. Dr Kile ran tests right away and explained everything that was going on. We were referred to an outside clinic for more extensive treatment and the GoodVets team made the handoff seamlessly, as well as getting quotes for us. I brought my 4-year-old French Bulldog to this vet because I heard great things about her. On my first visit, I arrived early but had to wait 15 minutes for the vet, who apologized for being late. Today, I had an appointment for my 12-week-old French Bulldog. On my way to the vet, I called because I was going to be late due to a car accident on the freeway. The person who answered the phone said that if I arrived even one minute beyond their 15-minute grace period, I would have to reschedule. When I arrived just two minutes after that cutoff, they refused to see me and told me to reschedule. It's unfortunate because I was looking forward to seeing this vet, as she also has French Bulldogs, and I had read great reviews online. I think others should know how unprofessional the staff can be. read more

To say that I'm thrilled to have found this vet would be an understatement! I'm new to the area and all of the vets around me have terrible reviews. My dog was having an issue and Kinsie (I hope that I'm spelling your name right) at the front desk got me right in and was super kind. The vet tech was equally wonderful and Dr Kile was beyond amazing! I can't express how happy I am with these fantastic people. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! I brought my senior Yorkie here and they showed a complete lack of sense of urgency and criticalness for my dog's care!! My dog had pale/whitish gums when she arrived to see Dr Kile which I found out later is an EMERGENCY and can be fatal. Veterinarians have a professional and ethical duty to provide prompt and appropriate care to animals in distress, especially when signs of serious illness are present and they failed to do that. The vet tech and Dr Kile said they would put together a plan and come back in the room with estimate of what needed to be done. The estimate was approx $775 to include bloodwork, SDMA test, urinalysis, red light therapy(to help my dogs IVDD) and pain medication. They should have said the bloodwork was the most important to get right away with pale gums and that they had payment options such as Care Credit or their wellness plan but they didn't. At no point was their wellness plan offered to me where I could make monthly payments like the previous reviewer mentioned they discussed with her when cost was an issue. It is listed on their website but was never mentioned during my visit. I said let's start with the SDMA and urinalysis which would cost about $230 together. Well her SDMA result he said was very high and Dr Kile talked to me about her quality of life at that point recommending that I euthanize her!! Right then I said can you run her result by Dr Charlton is she here? He said she was already in the back when he brought my dog back and that she agrees my dog doesn't look good. Well you would think Dr Charlton would come back in the room with Dr Kile if she saw my dog had white/pale gums and high test result and it was clear it was a critical situation? So from there Dr Kile says we can't get a urinalysis on her now there is not enough urine in her bladder so just make another appt to come back. Something just did not feel right about my visit when I left so I called the office back asking Kelly the Office Manager to have Dr. Charlton call me back as soon as possible I really wanted to speak with her regarding the results of my dogs test/visit that day since she is the Medical Director. Well I NEVER got a call back that day or the next day from her. Kelly the Office Manager just emailed me what the SDMA levels mean. That's not acceptable at all! As a previous review stated Kelly is not a veterinarian and should not be acting as a veterinarian she should have said I'll make sure Dr Charlton calls you back. Well unfortunately my Yorkie passed away 36 hours later. They should have referred me immediately to an Emergency vet or Critical Care Specialist such as Thrive Emergency vet which I saw reviews online of that emergency vet that said pet owners were referred by their vet to go there for critical care but this place recommended nothing. Her vitals were still good at the time and her temp was normal. She was still eating her food at home and I was able to care for her. When Dr Charlton returned my call 3 days later she said "I have up to 16 appts a day I can't return calls all the time" and then I said Dr Kile said you saw her test result and how she looked that morning he brought her back in back room and Dr Charlton replied "Honestly I don't even remember seeing her." I was completely taken back by that. I said why didn't you just come back in the room to speak to me with Dr Kile and she said "Two doctors do not need to be in the room at once." That was not a compassionate response when I had just lost my dog!! Apparently they don't work as a team in a critical situation where there is an emergency. Dr Charlton also made the remark "Owners try to find others to blame when they lose their pets." So if you have a senior dog or a sick dog for that matter I would strongly encourage you to take your beloved pet elsewhere. It was so disheartening the entire experience with this place and when I found out after the fact they offer a wellness plan and take Care Credit and did not even bring that up to me that made me feel even worse! I am heartbroken that this place did not act quickly and if they could not provide the care immediately they should have shown a sense of urgency to get her in the hands of a place that could! They just did not care enough in a critical situation and were clearly negligent! read more

I do not recommend this vet and this is my personal experience: I came here because it was close to my house and was interested in the free first visit and was looking to potentially get a new vet. I booked the appointment because my dog got bit by some ants in my complex and he had caught a little infection between his toes that he kept licking so I came in to get some medicine. First of all the vet tech when she was looking at the ant bites I don't know if something came out of one of the ant bites or whatever but she shrieked and shouted omg gross when WTH you're a vet tech and something like this is grossing you out? It was really bizarre and then the male veterinarian doctor came in to do an exam on my dog. We got some medication for his infection and then he told me two of my dogs lymph nodes were swollen and I should check him immediately for cancer that he could do it right then for $600. I thought this sounded weird because my dog has so much energy and always seemed fine and this just really caught me off guard so I said no not at this time. I paid for the infection meds and left. Once I went home, I researched swollen lymph nodes, and it said it could be caused from an infection which my dog had on his foot. The doctor never mentioned this once to me and just wanted to poke my dogs lymph nodes with needles. I've been stressing out literally crying for the last couple of weeks waiting to get into his regular vet with his normal doctor, who was out of town to get the test done there and we finally had the appointment today and she said his lymph nodes aren't swollen and we never had to do the poking cancer test. She also said that if a dog is having problems with his lymph nodes, meaning that it could be lymphoma, they would ALL be swollen. not one just here or there. I absolutely do not trust Good Vets. I'm not sure if they were just trying to get me to pay the $600 to poke my dog with needles or whatever. but I will never go back here again. Also, most of the vets I've had in my life after you bring them in for a visit will call to check and see how your pet is doing after the visit and of course this place never called once. read more

This is not really a Vet ! Kyle was only a salesman! I took a stray cat I have been caring for, for about 2 months, off and on, when she'd come around. She was a mess, somewhat dirty and matts and diarrhea. I would bathe her and cut out matts. She is so sweet! So this Dr. (?) Kyle comes in. The cat is walking around curious. He looks only with a flashlight as she is walking at her ears. Then says well I think we should give her a flea and tick shot, worm medicine and something else. $130. THEN, grabs her from the scruff of the neck to the high table and pins her down. (No reaction from the kitty. ) Feels her tummy and says she seems fine. Put her back on floor . Says Nothing about the matts or her tail which was missing the tip, except is her tail diry too? Never looked at the tail, her eyes, teeth, really the ears, or concerned about the matts, or her little bottom which was red and swollen from the diarrhea! Bring her back when you can and we will check her again! What?? He never gave her an exam! I brought her there because they offer a free head to tail exam for the 1st. Visit. I told him I have never seen fleas or worms and showed him some bad matts we were afraid to tackle. He said yeah be careful, you don't want to cut her skin! They are only interested in money! Which I only bought the worm medicine, to sprinkle on her food 3 days, just in case $30! I hope the word gets around about the lack of concern for pets! They are only interested in money...quoted $130, before he even touched her!!! read more

I made a visit for the first time to goodvets. My 18 year old diabetic dog normally sees my sister who is a veterinarian on the west side of the metro area. My dog had a seizure and I immediately took him to the closest place I could find, which was Goodvets. The staff were exceptionally attentive and talked to me about my dogs medical history which was complicated given his health issues. I then saw Dr. Charlton who was exceptionally kind, well educated and treated my dog with love. She has varied professional experience, which gives her a breath of knowledge many vets don't have. They had the in house capacity to run a multitude of diagnostics. I highly recommend Goodvets for your family pets. read more
