I was quoted more than $2,500 for parts and labor to fix a check engine light. Instead, I spent about $60 at AutoZone, installed the part myself in 30 minutes, and completely solved the problem. If you've ever had a check engine light come on, please read this before spending thousands of dollars. My vehicle's onboard app alerted me to a potential engine issue, so I brought it to this Goodyear location expecting them to identify the exact problem. After keeping my vehicle for several hours, they called and told me the issue could be one of three different parts. Rather than pinpointing the failed component, they quoted me over $2,500 to replace all three, plus labor. When I reviewed the paperwork, I found that the estimate was based on one diagnostic code, yet they were recommending three possible repairs. I was also told none of the parts were available on the island, that they would need to be ordered directly from the manufacturer, would take about two weeks to arrive, and would cost an additional $250 in freight charges. None of that sat right with me, so I declined the repairs. I then went to AutoZone for a second opinion. Within two minutes, they scanned my vehicle for free (Goodyear charged me $225 for diagnostics). Their scan identified one specific part associated with the code. They even explained a few things that could trigger the code without requiring any repairs. I bought the part for about $60, watched a YouTube video, and with the help of a neighbor, installed it myself in about 30 minutes. The check engine light disappeared immediately. I've since driven more than 150 miles, and it hasn't come back. What makes this even more frustrating is that I was told the repair would take two to three days, when in reality it took me half an hour in my driveway. I was also told the parts needed to be "freighted in," making it sound like they were large or difficult to source. The replacement part was small enough to fit inside a Pringles can. Unfortunately, this wasn't my first bad experience at this location. During two separate Hawaii safety inspections, I was told my CV boots needed replacement. On my older vehicle, I approved the repair because I trusted their recommendation. Later, when I brought in my newer, low-mileage vehicle, they quoted me more than $3,000 for the same type of repair. After my latest experience, I have serious doubts about the recommendations coming from this shop. Whether it's poor diagnostics, unnecessary recommendations, or excessive labor estimates, I have completely lost confidence in this Goodyear location. I will never bring another vehicle here, and I cannot recommend that anyone else does either. Before agreeing to expensive repairs, get a free diagnostic scan from AutoZone or another trusted source and compare estimates. Staff were nice and understanding, but the part markups were nuts -- $48 for a $16 spark plug and $279 for a $79 coil. Friendly service, but prices that make no sense. Goodyear will get your vehicle repaired and running, at the cost of thousands for what you can do in an autozone parking lot for hundreds. One star for price gouging though id give 5 stars for staff: correctly diagnosed issue, understood my concern, and were friendly. read more

And there were only a couple of people inside so I thought it would be fast. They took 1 and a half hour for just a safety check and failed my car coz they said my two front tires were bald inside and needs to be replace. Their staff answering the phone is phenomenal! Super friendly and awesome. However, they are only there to answer simple questions. I wanted to ask a question and possibly set up an appointment for a tire change, but they were unable to set up an appointment, and the only way I could do is to call back, press 1 and hope the tire department will answer. I tried multiple times, and each and every time, I would get the friendly front staff. I felt bad calling so many times... I decided to go make an appointment online. Not knowing anything about what tire I am supposed to get, I accidentally booked an appointment with the wrong tire. So.... Then I realized that I cannot cancel online and need to CALL TO CANCEL! So I call back... and was told that I had to get connected to the Tire department to cancel!!! So yeah.. again.. I called multiple times and could not get to the tire department. AND OF COURSE COURSE THEY HAD TO CALL ME BACK WHEN I STEPPED OUT TO CHECK MAIL! UGH!!!! I know they probably are super busy and probably understaffed, but making and canceling appointments should not be this hard.... I was hoping they would call me back but they didn't. They removed screw and patched tires for a reasonable price and was super fast. I am grateful for that. Gloryanne was very nice and pleasant. However, Katie is another story. NO personality. I'm giving an average review because they got the job done quickly when they were the only shop open that could fix my flat tire. I arrived at 5:05 PM on a Saturday, and they had the hole patched and back on my car in just 31 minutes for $26. Now, there are some negatives I'm considering, but honestly, they don't matter much for what I needed. THE BATHROOM HERE IS HORENDOUS! But I'm not visiting a Goodyear service center run by experienced mechanics with 20+ years in the industry for the restroom facilities. No, I'm here for a solid job fixing a hole in my tire that I discovered just 10 minutes before calling them. When I tell you I wasn't sure I was even welcome in the building, well, the guy arranging for my tire repair was colder than Mr. Freeze! I was genuinely unsure of what to expect. I stood up, thinking the mechanic had finished with my car, but this man went about his business, wrapping up my paperwork as if I didn't even exist. I questioned my decision for a solid three minutes before he finally acknowledged that it was my car and I had every right to stand there. In fact, while filling out the initial paperwork, he had me sign something without explaining what it was for. I was so taken aback by his approach to life that if he'd told me I signed away my car and my left kidney, I would have just accepted my fate! All that aside, it took just 55 minutes from when I discovered my tire was flat to them fixing it and returning my car to me. They got me in and out efficiently. So, 3 out of 5 stars for you! Also, their hours said they close at 7pm, but the guy told me get my ass there by 5pm because they close at 6pm. Trust, I hurried and it was worth the horror-like bathroom experience. read more

They seem to do OK work, no complaints there. But, they hardly ever answer the phones. This time I called about 3 times to make an appointment but needed to change the date after making an appointment. I called 5 times during business hours within 2 days time and they never answered any of my calls. I drove down there to make the change and I see that there are 2 service writers at the desk inside. I told one of them that they never answer their phones. He stared at me for a while then said "sorry." The time before this I remembered driving down there to make an appointment because I got frustrated by them not answering the phone. When you drive down there they don't seem to have a problem of serving you right away. I might need to find another place to take my cars. read more

No matter what Goodyear I've been to, the experience has been terrible. This time, I asked why they take appts for safety checks and then say it will be 60 to 90 minutes. They said it takes an hour to do the check. I know it doesn't. I've lived here for 14 years and it has never taken longer than 30 minutes for the actual inspection. Usually 10 to 15 minutes. So did 2 male employees lie to my face because I'm white, or because I'm a woman? AND they wanted me to buy 2 new tires from them. Yeah, right. In the time of covid, most places require appointments for safety inspections. The auto shops/safety check locations I normally go to were all booked for the next 4 weeks. I stumbled upon the Stadium mall Goodyear auto service and decided to take a look at their online scheduler. There were many immediate appointments open and decided to make an appointment. I made an appointment for a Hawaii safety inspection online, received confirmation emails, and check-in instructions however, it was not reflected on their local system. So as a heads up the online appointment scheduler is not updated. Please make sure to call the location to schedule instead. They are currently booked until November at the moment. Despite not having an "appointment" since it did not confirm locally, the staff were very courteous and still honored my online booking. They were able to schedule me in close to the time I originally requested. The site took most of the covid precautions. All staff members were wearing masks, plexiglass was used to separate customers from employees, and social distancing markings were in place etc. Safety inspections are standard $25 + tax = ~ $26.18. During the inspection, they found that one of my headlights was dim and helped me replace it for a reasonable price. As they were booked, the entire service and inspection took about 1.5 hrs so I recommend leaving the car and requesting a callback. Overall, my experience with Goodyear Auto Service Aloha Stadium was pretty good. The only caveat is that I wish their online scheduler would actually reflect the actual appointments available at the shop. read more

Been there ( many times)cause it's close to home for emergency. Customer service is sooooo bad! Last visit was 8/18/24 just to ask if they could check my brake lights, why wouldn't it turn off. So he says can't do today (sun) but you can leave your car and will look at it on Monday and, gotta do a diagnostic test. Went to firestone can't doit till wed. Went here n there answer was all the same. Finally went to ###, and didn't take a minute that this young gentleman just looked at my car from inside the office and said it's ###. Just go to Napa and get this part. Did so and also got a brake light bulb which i was to change myself. Went back to ### and this young gentleman did it in a minute! What a disappointment. I called around for new tire estimates and time frame to get two of my front tires changed. One tire had a slow air leak. GoodYear had competitive prices compared to others so I went with them. It was 1:15pm when they quoted me my car estimate and said it would be done in 1-1/2 hr. time frame. This service was to replace two front tires. This was important for me to take time off of work and get back during my lunch break. First off, when I got there, the written estimate was $30 more then the quote over the phone. I brought it to their attention and they made the correction. 1-1/2 hours went by and I looked out the glass window and noticed my van still parked in the same place where I left it, no sign of anyone around it. They didn't even start to work on it until I told them their estimated finish time and then they finally took action and put my van on the rack. I waited outside and took a smoke break. I called my work place and told them I won't be coming back today because of the delay. Meanwhile, I observed a female customer walking to her FINISHED car, but she arrived 30 minutes after me....to get her 4 tires changed. Her car was done in about 1-1/2 hrs. When she inspected her tires she touched her front hub cap and it flew off. And her rear one was loose too. A service person came out to put it back on correctly. My van was finally done at 4:00pm...2-1/2 hrs later. What bothered me is that the guy in front of me had the same problem. He had a long wait and cancelled his plans as well. The store manager never apologized to him. He only gave him an excuse of running late. The customer was frustrated as well. My question is, are they taking on more work then they can handle and making unfulfilling promises to complete the work on time? Just to secure business?? Sad to say but I think so. And if that's the case, then I would've taken my car to another nearby auto shop to save time. They didn't even let me or the customer in front of me know that they're running behind. And there was no sincere apology either. The service clerk apologized after the job was done, but it was too late. I've been here in the past and the customer service back then was superb. When the technician checked my car he asked where I did my last oil change I told him where he then stated that whoever did my oil change didn't not replace four of my bolts also my oil filter was very dirty! He said that they didn't change the filer because no way can it be that dirty, especially when I don't drive the car that much and the oil was very low! He showed me the oil filter and showed me the oil filter and showed me the oil filter from the car that was beside me getting an oil change wow that's a big difference. If you have 2 hours for a safety check, this is your place. It took 45 min to check in, 10 min till the technician grabbed the car, 10 min for the safety check, and another 15 to pay. There was only 1 person at the desk checking people in and the line was about 10 people deep. They need to find a way to make that process more efficient if they want to keep customers. read more

Horrible customer service and a horrible service provided! I brought my car in for an oil change to this Goodyear location, on 25 August 2019, because they were at least $30-40 cheaper than Flagship Fastlube where I normally get my oil changes done. Roughly 2-3 weeks after getting the oil change, I started to notice oil leaking from my car. My car is relatively new (2 years old) and I have never had any problems before until bringing it to this Goodyear location. I took the car back to Goodyear, on 29 September 2019, to have them look at what was causing the oil leak. After the inspection, the sales associate told me that they used a defective part and replaced it. He neglected to tell me why a defective part was used in the first place and did not even bother to apologize for the inconvenience they caused. Not even a week later, on 05 October 2019, I had to bring the car back into Goodyear because of their inability to make sure that the job was done correctly. While driving from Salt Lake to Kapolei, I started to hear rattling noises coming from underneath the car. Once I reached Kapolei, I looked underneath the car to see that the undercarriage panel (see attached picture) was not fastened properly and dragging on the ground. I brought the car back in AGAIN to have them look at and fix the problem they created. After they secured the panel back onto the car, the sales associated just had me sign the paperwork and handed me my keys. Once again there was no apology from the sales associate/technicians for the problems they caused because they could not do the job properly the first OR second time. I understand that problems are bound to happen and not every job can be done perfectly 100% of the time but this is a business with services provided to paying customers. The least they could have done was apologize, after either one of the times I brought the car but it didn't seem like the workers cared enough to even do that. Needless to say, I will no longer trust Goodyear with any of my cars. I will pay the extra money and take my cars to Flagship Fastlube where I know they do a thorough job. UPDATE: A week after Goodyear "fixed" the undercarriage panel that wasn't attached properly, fell off again on 12 October 2019 on our way from Salt Lake to Ala Moana (second picture included). I called the Goodyear and spoke to the manager, Randy, directly and when I brought it in he said "it was hanging off more than it was the week before". So not only did they not fix it properly the week before but some how they made it even worse. Randy explained to me that the panel was warped (which was probably caused by the panel hanging off and dragging on the road twice). He said he fixed it personally and it shouldn't be falling off anymore. I asked for a refund for the oil change for all the hassle they caused me. I had to bring this car in a total of 4 times for what was supposed to be a routine oil change. Let's hope this is the end of this nightmare with Goodyear. read more

Located on Salt Lake Blvd. in the Stadium Mall across from Sack N Save, Goodyear is open 7 days a week, fixing tires. My tire had a nail in it and we brought the tire in for repair. They called us when it was repaired, about 2 hours later, I drove my car there and they put the wheel back on my car. The BEST part was there was no charge because I have Goodyear tires! Do NOT recommend. I'm having a baby soon and wanted to make sure my car was safe and ready for her arrival. I brought my car in to get the brake pads checked. They assured me they had 80% life and didn't need to be changed. They did, however, convince me that I needed a fuel injection flush and something else. Within days my car started making a lot of noise on the freeway, and I had to pull over. I brought my car into another mechanic. He said that my pads were so paper thin that they had snapped and broke off. Don't know what they even did to my car. Do not trust them and will never go there again. read more
