First time going, won't be the last! Great venue to dine in and outside with outstanding service. From open window bar seats that sit on the outside patio, to individual booths for the perfect date night, atmosphere surrounds you! With intense aromas from the beautifully polished open kitchen, the stainless steel line is definitely an eye catcher. Having a good looking kitchen must have good looking and flavorful food. My girlfriend ordered the "heavenly" (quoted from our waitress Christine) Lobster and shrimp Mac & cheese, she loved it! One thing that was a let down was the red wine reduction, didn't have that wow factor I was looking for, more of a vinaigrette in my opinion. On the other hand, the rich and buttery Bearnaise sauce refreshed my palate over the Ahi Tuna steak, paired well with the freshly brewed Golden Export. Overall, terrific experience. read more

The outdoor is nicely laid out. The only negative (preventing the 5 star) is the outside chairs are not very comfortable. But otherwise, the atmosphere, everything was top notch. Average at best. We just had dinner. Had the southwest egg rolls( a signature item but was similar to a well know chain) as an appetizer. They were ok. Nothing special. As a main we had the ribeye ( chewy and thin) and the the California tacos ( again a signature item but nothing special). The beer was ok. The worst part was the waiter. He was not rude but seemed rather standoffish. We felt like an imposition. Sitting outside was nice. The fish tacos were a disaster, dry as the desert and they were cut in the middle so you couldn't hold them without having them fall apart (I believe this happened because they were probably frozen and fell apart when reheated). Regardless, giving this place four stars because they have a solid beer selection and their basic bar food is pretty good. read more

I visited Gordon Biersch Brewery on the high recommendations from Yelp. The service was good and prompt. I ordered the Smoked Chicken Mushroom Pasta and was very disappointed to find the majority of the chicken was the fatty dark meat with some chicken skin still attached. I wish I could have given higher stars but the food, or at least this dish was a big disappointment. read more

We usually hit Gordon Biersch in Myrtle Beach a few times a year. During and post COVID service has been a little sluggish but thats the norm in this area. Food has still been pretty good. Today my wife and I had the WORST experience ever at their Market Common location to the extent that we will never be going back. It was not the food or the meal service - we never got that far. We walked in and nodded to the 3 or 4 staff around the hostess station and took our normal seats at the high tops in the bar. Bar was almost full but there was no one in the bar area seating. We sat there for almost 15 minutes ignored. During that time 3 other patrons were seated and waited on in same area. My wife went to the hostess station and asked for and was given menus. After 3 wait staff and a hostess passes us by I finally flagged down the hostess on her way back from another patron asking for service and complained about the long wait. The response was a lecture on not to sit at these seats without being seated by a hostess to which I responded please do not lecture me and find someone to wait on us. She disappeared and her nor anybody else returned. I went to front desk and asked for a manager and noted my dissatisfaction with the service and how I had been treated. He proceeded to make excuses for his staff and then buried in about his 4th line there was an apology which I told him he should have led with! If I had not flagged down the hostess that lectured me we would still be waiting for food! The manager offered to serve us but by that time my wife, a Gordon Biersch club member, had left the building. I came back in one more time to let the manager know that my wife was upset, we would not be eating there now or any time in the future and that I would be writing this NEGATIVE Yelp review. It's a tourist area and they have a captive audience with NO room for regular locals like us. If we don't eat there somebody always will giving them a license to not own their mistakes. We ordered through Door Dash for a late dinner because the restaurant was about 7 minutes from our hotel (meaning the food should arrive hot and fresh since it was a short distance) and our kids were too hangry to go out . The chicken in both sandwiches we ordered was rubbery, cold, and lacked seasoning. The fries that came with the burger were almost non existent (8 fries to be exact). The Southwest nachos that were supposed to be topped with black beans had a total of six black beans on them and were so greasy we threw them out after a few bites. Was there for happy hour and sat on the outside side of the bar and had appetizers and drinks. The specials were on par with pricing of happy hour. The food was very yummy and came out rather quick. The only downside of the experience was it was hard to get attention from the bartenders to order more stuff so we had to bulk order things so we wouldn't have to wait for more food or drinks. read more

I play trivia here almost every week and have a good time, but the menu changes that have been made over the last year or so have not been for the better. The last time I ordered a burger and fries, I could count the number of fries. There were 11. The size of the burgers seem to have decreased so the patty doesn't come close to the edge of the bun. My favorite dessert, the triple chocolate brownie, no longer has the chocolate swirl on top and has been replaced with cocoa powder and a mint leaf...sometimes. It's not consistent. The last time I got the brownie it looked like the caramel drizzle had been watered down to make it stretch and the brownie was as flat as a pancake. Very disappointing. I hardly order it anymore because I'm disappointed every time. On the upside the staff is very friendly and it's nice to come to a place every week where the waitress knows your drink order before you even ask. read more

30 minute wait turned into 1 hr. Given a choice take their pager. They need to work on the tech to receive a text when your table is ready. I did not receive a wait time until I waited 30 mins and I expected the text to say your table is ready not you're in line! Once we were seated things greatly improved. Ben was our server and he was attentive and made recommendations. They had 7 beers available and was only 8$ for a 4 oz sample of all. Good deal. I'm from South East Texas, I have pretty darn high standards for what Creole Food is and should be. Louisiana was only 1.5 hours from my childhood home. I came to Myrtle Beach for work and walked into this place for a beer. Ended up ordering, hesitantly, the Cajun Pasta. My first impression of this dish when it arrived was that they had skimped on the sausage, chicken, and shrimp. However, it turns out that it was efficiently tossed and then put in the bowl. As I finished it, I was rather pleased with all aspects. Portion size was perfect, the mix of protein and pasta was just right, and the spice left me at the last bite, being right at the upper mid range of my spice tolerance. I had their IPA beer with my meal and it was a perfect extinguisher of the spice. Paired well, and left me feeling very satisfied yet, not bloated and miserable. Chuck, my bartender was attentive and appropriately conversational. I rarely give a place five stars after my first visit, but this place hit the nail on the head. Very much worth a try! read more

This was one of our favorite stops. The beer was surprisingly great. I typically have low expectations for chain-like breweries but this restaurant has proved me too judgmental. The A-10 IPA was a favorite. Caramel and the perfect amount of hops. It was delicious. Drink-ability is A 10 (wink). The garlic fries were a great pair to the beer and came with a generous portion. Wife and I had fab lunch here on 8-9-18 to celebrate my birthday. Wonderful craft beer brewed in-house. Hefeweizen is outstanding, as well as IPA. We enjoyed a generous coconut shrimp appetizer, then shared a Gastro Burger which was out of this world, perhaps best burger I have ever had with Gorgonzola and Bacon Jam. We also shared two fish tacos which were lightly fried and served with a yummy mango pico de gallo. Super food, upscale, and classy, but comfortable. Outside patio dining available. My favorite restaurant in all of Myrtle Beach. The staff are very friendly, the place is very clean, and they serve some of the best imported beer. My favorite being Hefeweizen! My family and I can always depend on having a great time at this restaurant on the weekends. Some of my favorite dishes are lobster shrimp Mac-n-cheese, simply grilled salmon, and the California chicken sandwich. The patio area is very chill and had a nice view of the Main Street of Market Commons. Highly recommend this restaurant to all locals and tourists. read more
