Good portions. My husband and I split one order and it was more than enough for the both of us to share. We each got a delicious pork chop plus sides! Well seasoned, the batter was crispy and flavorful. Goo spices. The candied yams were a good mix of sweet and tangy and decent pieces. The Mac & Cheese was nice and cheesy, thick & seasoned to perfection! I am curious to try the other items on the menu to see how they measure up if it's this good consistently. Overall 4/5. Loved that everything was fresh and made to order. It did take 45 minutes but there were no other customers in when we arrived so I can appreciate food not just sitting. Loved that nothing was greasy! Of everything we ordered, the best/most flavorful things were the yams and macaroni. I didn't try them but my son said the chicken was chewy and the Mac and cheese flavoring didn't pair well with the fries. Fried salmon was okay. It is a soft fry and the shrimp were on the small/medium side and chewy. I enjoyed the barbeque beans and the Mac and cheese was fine. It isn't the best and it isn't the worse. I'd put it in the middle. The wings were just average. I can remember the flavors I got and they weren't popping. I could differentiate between the two. The fried zucchini was mushy but the fries were delicious. They forgot all the sauces for the salmon, fries, zucchini. If I return, (and that is negotiable) I will try something different. Seen this place on TikTok. It was in the cut, if it wasn't for the sign you probably wouldn't know it was here. Completely empty inside. While we were there people did go in and out picking up To Go Orders I'm assuming. Kinda pricey, 2 meals was about $60, drinks not included. This place was a BIG disappointment! If I could give zero stars, I would. We booked this place to host my father's repast, and I truly regret it. The owner promised me she could handle a group of 65 people, probably just to get our business, but it was obvious from the start that she was completely unprepared. Our reservation was for 2:30 PM, but by 2:00 PM, nothing was ready. They weren't even ready by 2:30pm! Who does this? Most of our guests, many of them elderly, were left standing outside in the heat. When we finally got in, the setup was terrible, the room was so cramped that people could barely move around. I requested a buffet style set up, which she did not execute properly as my guests could not move around to get their food. Leaving their team no choice but to serve us. What made it worse was the owner trying to blame me for there not being enough servers or space. It was incredibly frustrating and embarrassing. Some of our guests waited over an hour to get their food, and then they ran out of fried chicken. One of our guests is pescatarian and requested salmon, we overheard a server say, "She's going to eat what I serve her." Absolutely unacceptable. The only food we took home was the food we paid for. No extras were requested or given as she claims. The owner was in the back frying chicken with a bonnet on, showing no professionalism whatsoever, and she refused to offer any kind of apology or refund. This was such a stressful experience on a day that was already emotional for our family. The food was just okay, but honestly, the service was awful. Definitely impressed by 'Gotta Have It', its hold true to its name. The marketing behind their restaurant is immaculate cause its all over my IG feed, and I was very happy to finally try it. The service was cool, They felt very personable and you can tell they are very focused on their food and almost nothing else. Thats fine by me! I am a chef myself and this food was perfectly prepared not overly seasoned or salty but seasoned to perfection with flavors through and through. For the all you can eat option, needs some fine tuning, maybe provide larger portions (especially on the Catfish) so that the waiting time is shorten. I do agree with the time limit on the table. Maybe extend it to one hour to add for the time you get your food when they're busy (it about 15min) The service was good, though the servers should really write things down to remember a bit clearer. Me and my family came, we were a pretty large party ( about 10 of us) but the service was so bad we all ate at separate times, the cornbread ( which was good) came out after several people had already eaten. ( most ppl want their cornbread with their food) I got my food last and it wasn't cooked properly, I understand she wanted to get the food out since we waited so long but my smothered pork chop wasn't cooked enough, it was very tough and the gravy was very thick, it just wasn't enjoyable at all. Despite waiting, I would've waited longer for properly cooked pork chops. I got greens and cornbread dressing I think- it was ok but gravy was dropped into my greens which wasn't appealing to me. I promise you I tried to like it. I really did. 1st time I went my order wasn't correct but I just left it alone to support this business. The food was okay. Not Instagram great like I saw, but just okay. Figured hey maybe just an off day. Went back and my chicken was absolutely not cooked all the way and the sides were seasonless. Pros: The banana pudding was good, the OG fries were so good (my favorite thing from everything). The mac and cheese and the greens were okay; don't think I'll get the greens again, though. I like the fact that the food was still hot considering I ordered it from UberEats. Cons: I didn't like the flavor of the wings (honey hot), and also, the yams were okay in taste but just too mushy for me. The shrimp and catfish lacked flavor. Although the Kool-Aid was given to me free (thanks, by the way), it was watered down. Now, I spent $60 in total for everything. After fasting for 21 days, I decided to treat myself to some good soul food. So I ordered my food around 3:56 pm and waited half an hour just for them to tell me ny food was given to someone. They said it would take another 15 minutes (took a whole extra 30 minutes), giving me my food around 5:25pm. We were not compensated for the wait, for our food being given away, or not even offer to return my money. Once the food came my chicken wings were undercooked, my yams were way too sweet, they put my fries on top of my yams making them soggy and a weird flavor, the greens were OVERLY salty, the fried pickles did not give "FRIED" at all, and the lemonade was plain syrup, NO lemonade! I am truly disappointed with my experience, especially to have paid over $50 for a meal I am completely unsatisfied with. I order Wings & Shrimp with Mac and cheese with potato salad and he order the smothered pork chop BBQ beans with Mac and cheese. Everything was good except for the wings. There were small and expected them to be bigger. The cashier was very friendly and informative. And last the banana pudding was the bomb! If you're starving I recommend call and order ahead.
