If I were Italian I imagine how lovely it would feel to go visit Nonna's house (grandma) and listen to her tell me stories about her life in Italy, she would serve me a bowl of warm pasta with a smile, and make me feel at home! This is the feeling you get at Grafa Pizza & Pasta. Upon our entry to Grafa, the pasta and pizza queen, Graziela (not sure I spelled that correctly), greeted us and offered us some of the best pizza we've ever tried! The crust of this pizza is soft and toasty, just the right consistency. We ordered the tomato, basil, and feta silce and the chicken, bacon, ranch. Both pizza slices were generously sized and full of flavor! Our next meal was the pasta, wow! The pasta is tender and fresh and so delicious, the best pasta in Miami. I ordered the truffle pasta with mushrooms and spinach, the cool part is that you can choose your own noodle type so I selected a tender, thick rigatoni. The truffle oil mix is decadent and creamy and melts in your mouth. The second pasta we tried was the gnocchi with homemade pesto topped with pine nuts! I swear I could eat this pesto sauce all by itself, it's like literally the closest thing to perfection in food form! The gnocchi was soft and tender as a gnocchi should be, cooked just right. Lastly, desert! I was so full, but Graziela was so accomodating and welcoming she insisted! We had the Nutella pizza, it's rich and sweet, on fresh made dough! We called in a delivery order and the woman that answered asked if we could call back in 2 minutes... We said, Ok... So, we called back in 3 min, no answer... then again @ 5 min... they answered. So, we ordered, reading directly from their menu. We asked for a chicken & pepperoni Calzone and a pepperoni & sausage pizza (M) w/ tomatoes, mixed olives & fresh mozzarella added. She could not understand us. We tried again (4 times very slowly) w/ no luck. So, we settled with the Chicken & Pep Calzone & Sausage & Pep Pizza w/ tomatoes added... We heard from several locals to try 'Pizza Rustica' but Grafa was right by our hotel and tried it instead. (Tried Pizza Rustica as well but not impressed.) Absolutely AMAZING! As I write this review, I suffer the painful consequences. As soon as the 22" pepperoni and sausage pizza arrived I did not wait for it to cool off and utterly destroyed the top of my mouth. No regrets. It is the best pizza I have ever eaten. The crust was not dense and crunchy like those thin pizzas. It was thinner than thin and it was CRISPY! Not like a cracker, crispier. Lighter. If this pizza had a soul, it would be up on the right hand of the right hand Man. I briefly read other reviews to see who would dare slander the Grafa Pizza. I see things like, "ordered for a party and was late" listen, party princess, how about you order from a trash chain restaurant for your party. You clearly do not deserve the GLORY of the Graf. And other comments bashing the prices. Indeed, it is pricey if you get a single slice, so save yourself some money and complaining and get a 22" fresh from the oven. It did get soggy at about the 3rd slice so be quick. After eating nearly half of the pizza by myself, I did not feel overly full. It was the best pizza experience of my life. Decided to look for a different pizza joint and stumbled upon this place on yelp. I noticed everyone giving high marks on their food so I was really excited and this place did not disappoint. I had a pizza with pepperoni and ordered it through yelp. While yelp told me the pizza would be done in about 45 minutes, i arrived 15 minutes early and it was already made. The front employee was very polite and I promptly received my order. Instead of waiting till i got home I decided to try a slice in my car while it was still fresh. Long story short i ate 3 slices in the car (i shoulda grabbed some napkins) and was impressed with the crust and happily surprised it was not dripping in grease like other typical Miami pizza. Only downside was parking but thats pretty par for the course for anything around the area. I'll definitely try to come back to Grafa when i'm around the area. read more

This place is the definition of a hole in the wall place! Located in the heart of south beach, this is a go to spot for whenever you're craving pizza and the most delicious pasta! I was invited to go here and I honestly would come back here again. PLACE: it's located on Washington and 13th st so it's only like 2 blocks west from the beach which is perfect for that after beach bite. The parking as always isn't the best but on weekdays I found parking pretty easily. It's well lit and they have tons of pies right on front so you can see some of what they offer before you go in. Seating wise, they have two tables in front and a long table inside inside that fits about 4 people. So definitely a small place. FOOD: they have a pretty extensive menu and offer pizza by the slice, as well as calzones, pasta, and dessert. We decided to go with a half truffle and mushroom pizza with white sauce and a half Parma pizza which had prosciutto on it. My fave was definitely the Parma pizza. We also got to try a meat lovers calzone which was oozing with cheese and so yummy and filling! Since they made pasta, my boyfriend and I decided to split a plate of their Amatriciana pasta and I fell in love! It was so fresh and had so much flavor that I would come back just for that. For dessert we decided to try their tiramisu which had a layer of Nutella on it and their Nutella pie slice. I wasn't head over heels for the pie slice because I found the bread that they used too hard and with the sprinkles on top it made it super difficult to eat. However, their tiramisu hit all the right spots when it came to desserts. All in all, if I was at the beach or nearby, I would definitely stop by for a slice or two and definitely a bowl of that pasta. We tried their Hawaiian pizza slice and ordered the spinach & ricotta medium pie (pizza comes in medium, large and extra large). We also opted for the pesto spaghetti- even though the choice was tough with so many sauces and variations, including the pasta option. Their single slices are large- and the Hawaiian slice was perfect. Not too much red sauce, fresh pineapple and ham that perfectly toasted in the oven. The spinach and ricotta pie was delicious- the ricotta was spread generously and tasted fresh. The spaghetti is served with warm bits of baguette, making it a perfect carb feast. For dessert, we couldn't say no to a slice of the stuffed Nutella pizza and a tiramisu. The dessert pizza was overflowing with filling, and was the epitome of indulgence. Oh, Grafa Pizza! This little hidden gem in Miami Beach is more than meets the eye. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a smile and warm welcome by the owner, who is Italian. We were seated outside during the Miami "winter" weather which was perfect. We began with the focaccia bread and olive oil which was a present in itself (note: try the spicy olive oil)! We then tried the Greek salad which was as fresh as ever. We then decided to try the bolognese and pizza. WOW! The bolognese was light (compared to other places) and it was tasty! Authentic Italian spot. I could taste the fresh herbs and olive oil in every bite. We then ordered the meat lovers pizza and caprese pizza which was fantastic. The flavor the meat lovers had and the freshness of the caprese was excellent. Definitely the best pizza I've had in the Miami area so far! Thin crust NY style pizza with amazing flavor. The sauce was my favorite part about the pie. I rarely say that because I'm a big fan of a good crust, which was very good in its own right. The sauce reminds me of pizza I've had in Italy while visiting family. It's that authentic! I just had two slices of cheese. The very basic and in my opinion the true test of good pizza. If the cheese pie is good then adding toppings can only make it better. This pizza place is the true meaning of a hidden gem! It's on Washington Ave. amongst the tourist shops. It can be missed, but its definitely worth the stop!
