I visited at lunchtime. I wasn't impressed at all with the flavor of the food. It kind of reminded me of hospital cafeteria food. I had smudged ketchup on my table before I was seated which I had to ask them to clean. The other areas in the restaurant were very clean. The breakfast buffet will keep you occupied and fill your belly with a large selection of standard breakfast fare. The custom omelette station was a nice touch though the amount of butter used to cook it in was nearly equal to the amount of egg. This resulted in a soggy, yet very flavorful omelette. Tasty but probably one in a lifetime will suffice. Several varieties of breakfast meats are offered, along with potatoes of every style. The cheesy bacon potatoes were probably my favorite. Assortments if breakfast breads are available from biscuits and gravy, to pancakes and all various fruit tarts to satisfy your sweet tooth. There is also a large variety of fresh fruits and yogurts for those a little more on the health conscious side of things; so obviously I steered clear of that area. All thing considered, your standard over salted, extra cheesy high cholesterol breakfast buffet that fit the bill. Reasonably priced for about $11 per person with a drink, it will definitely give you a jump start to your day... or put you in a food coma, that's up to you. read more

This review is just for the buffet part of the complex only, the food here is ok, your typical mass produced buffet on the cheap end food. I can see how they can do the two for one offers during the week. I did check out the fudge shop while at the complex and that looked like they have a good selection of fudge. Every time my family and I come to Branson which normally is twice a year we end up stopping here. It's a typical buffet with plenty of Southern food choices. They also have great sized salad bar and a loaded potato bar. Myself being a vegetarian I wish they had more veg friendly items but I make it work. Also the chocolate chip cookies and blackberry cobbler are both something I look forward to at the end of the meal. The staff is friendly and they do keep up with the buffet never empty containers. I am only giving it 4 stars because I think it needs a remodel it's a little dated. read more

With food that is ridiculously average the great country buffet is anything but, unless you count the price. For $13.49 at dinner I'm expecting a few meats, a few fresh vegetables, a nice spread of desserts, and perhaps even a drink if I'm lucky. Unfortunately the only thing you can really count on are a few palpable meat dishes while the rest is just a sad attempt of a buffet. The vegetables were soggy and soaked in water, most of the meats were tough or gamey, the Cajun catfish wish I was super excited for was burnt, and there were only a few desserts with one ice cream machine being completely out of commission. Half of the food stalls weren't even used and while I can understand it being a little slow at the end of August that's no excuse to cut your menu in half. The only redeeming feature are a few of the menu items which are explicitly stated to be homemade (potato salad, chicken pot pie). It's a shame that my parents are just in love with buffets, thus I decided to just go with their decision rather than make my argument. Fortunately now I know to avoid this place, unfortunately all hell will break lose if I have to come here again. read more

A definite second-choice compared to the Hibachi Grill and Buffet down the street. And a bit more expensive too. Compared to other towns, it's about average in quality. A couple things I didn't like about it: The fried chicken consisted entirely of white meat. Just before I was ready to leave they finally put out some legs, which would be my preference... Also, they tended to mix dishes together in the same tray. I'm allergic to wheat, so with roast beef with gravy on one side, and roast vegies on the other side, the gravy naturally ends up on everything. Why not put gravy separately so we can choose what we want. On the good side, I particularly liked the sausage with sauerkraut and the banana jello. This later is often found at Chinese Buffets, where it's mostly bananas and just a little jello. Here it was mostly soft concentrated red jello with a few bananas. I thought this was a good place to eat both breakfast and lunch. You get buy one get one half price if you go to a show. The get one half price really didn't seem any cheaper but since they don't give you a receipt you really don't know what you are being charged for. The ham and beans were really good. Probably the best buffet I've been to in Branson. I mean don't get too excited the food isn't excellent but the other buffets I've been to have been disgusting. I wanted fried chicken we came for lunch and there was fried chicken but it didn't hit the spot. What I did like was the veg. Beef soup, baked potato bar, beef and noodles, dinner roll, chicken livers were good to me because they were fried super crispy and couldn't really taste it. And the blackberry cobbler and bread pudding was excellent. The meatloaf was just okay and the pork egg roll was cabbage basically. If you like buffets I suggest you give Grand Country a try. Breakfast is very good with everything from made to order omelets to fresh homemade pastries. Dinner is good, too, with full salad bar, baked potato bar, soups, chicken, meatloaf, all the homemade sides and desserts. Staff is friendly and accommodating. All you can eat so come hungry. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 only because they stopped serving fried chicken and went to chicken tenders! Not the same, Grand Country. Bring back the Country Fried Chicken! read more

If there is a breakfast item you want, it is probably there. They couldn't keep the french toast stocked, and the bacon was very droopy. I hate droopy bacon. We arrived just before a motorcoach arrived and they refused to seat us (only the two of us) until the motorcoach was seated.

We had both the breakfast and lunch buffets. GREAT service and good food. Kinda like the Golden Corral. Lots to choose from and plenty of seating. Great for families and kids! We will be back next time we come to Branson. read more

This is a typical buffet, the food is ok, lots of heavy comfort foods: fried fish, fried okra, fried corn poppers (yummy), chicken fried steak........I think you get the picture. The salad and fruit bars were nice and fresh. The hot veggies were too and the mashed potatoes were real, always a plus. For dinner they carve a low quality ham and roasted beef. Actually, when you compare it to all the other restaurants in Branson, this little place more than holds its own for two reasons: 1. The price. $10.00 for lunch and $13.50 for dinner, with average quality foods. That's about the cost of a fast food combo anywhere in town and less than almost any other restaurant that we saw. 2. The waitresses are super friendly and on top of everything. Darla and Candace helped us. We found them to be fun, attentive, they knew the town and its attractions and really made our meal pleasant. So 5 stars for the ladies and 3 stars for the food leaves us with, wa-la!, an overall rating of 4 stars. read more

My expectations may have been too high after reading some recent rave reviews but I was fairly disappointed. Most of the food I tried tasted canned (veggies, chicken pot pie), the egg rolls were dry and not flavorful. The salad looked fresh and my son and husband enjoyed it. The fried chicken and mashed potatoes with brown gravy were the best part of my meal. I was especially let down by the cookies that someone else had mentioned were amazing. All the ones I tasted reminded me of chips ahoy more than anything else, even when I got one that I watched someone take off of a baking sheet and into the basket. I tried a baked potato because the fixings looked good but the one I grabbed was undercooked so I got another. Sadly the shredded cheese is not real cheese and did not melt. The bread pudding was just okay but it was greatly improved by the vanilla sauce. The breads and muffins were all over baked and crunchy but my kids didn't mind. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it and won't be back but it wasn't too pricey ($12 per adult, $7.50 per child for lunch) and it's convenient if you don't want to drive anywhere. read more

Very overpriced for a buffet, and the selection was very sparse. Half the buffet tables were empty, leaving only basic selections. Our server ( joe) on the other hand, was very helpful an attentive to our needs. He is the only reason this rating was not 1 star. Salad bar was water logged, meats were dry and didn't even try the desert bar after wife and kids left theirs on the plate. Will not return $50 bill for a family of 4 I expected MUCH more. read more
