Grand Prix----thank you for bringing me from the dark side! I had been bringing my car to the Lexus dealership until recently. Brought my IS 250 in for my 60k checkup (itself $600) and they told me I needed $6000 worth of work. That seemed absurd, I had been bringing my car there every other month for oil changes and checkups. So when I blew a tire on the freeway one day I brought it to Grand Prix out of neccesity and they put a tire on my car for...$60!!!! Insane. I paid $350 for a tire at Lexus a few months before. So I had them check what Lexus said I needed done immediately. The 2 big things: New battery--nope, they tested it and said it was fine. Rear brakes and rotors---had over 50% left on my breaks and rotors were completely fine! They told me I had probably 4-5 months left on my brakes. So I went back in 4 months and the brakes only cost me $165. No rotors needed still. Lexus was going to charge me over $1500 for that. Insane. Grand prix--thank you!!!! Quick, honest, efficient. I was referred here by a neighbor since I was needing tires, and decided to check it out. Just on a random Saturday, mid morning 11:30am-ish...I decided to head over and check this place out. First thing I noticed was that this place was busy. Since I drove all the way over from the north OC area I still decided to go in and see if they had what I was looking for...specifically some BFG All-Terrain 285/75R16's. Took a few minutes to get a parking spot and then went in. Then all the eye candy hit me. I am personally not a fan of big low profile type rims and am more of an off-road more rubber the better type of person but I can still appreciate some nice looking wheels...even when I am not even close to being able to afford them. So anyway once I was in the shop I had to wait a couple minutes for some other customers to pay their totals etc. While waiting inline I was kinda skeptical that this kinda place would be keeping some 33" offroad tires in stock but whatever, thought I'd wing it anyway. Once it was my turn I walked up to the counter and was very nicely greeted by the gentleman behind the counter ..small talk "How are you Miss?" me "Great, hopefully you might have the tires I need. How about you?" guy "Oh pretty good. What are you looking for? Hopefully I can find what you're looking for." So I told the guy and he of course did his little search on the computer. Let me specify though that I told him only the tire brand and size that I wanted..and at first he kinda hesitated and asked what kinda car I had so I told him that as well. AND guess what!!! He said "Oh those are the right size tire for your suv"...with this little comment I thought he must have thought I didn't know what I was talking about...but I know my stuff and I think he must have quickly gotten a glimpse of my smirk and must have known that ya can't fool me ;) So he checked his stock and YES!!! They had exactly 4 of them woo!!! I asked the price and what the total would be. It was a little over $1,100 about $100 less than some other places I was looking at, so decided to go with them right there on the spot. Before I handed them the keys I wanted to know how long the wait was and they said about an hour cuz they had a few cars before me. I didn't see this as a problem cuz I could hang out in their little waiting area or scope out the rims while waiting. Handed them the keys and sat down. They had cable and some cool car chairs to sit on but all were full(only about 4-5 chairs though) so first decided to walk around and check out the different stuff. Well I did this for the next 1 hour and 45 minutes. Although I didn't have anything else to did I was getting a little restless and finally went to the counter to ask how my car was doing. They said it was next. WHAT?!?! They haven't even got to it? I must admit I was a little pissed but I'll completely take on my responsibility and the fact that I was a walk-in and hadn't called ahead...just wish they could have updated me that it was going to take longer than expected...communication is key to a customer. Once I saw my car go into the bay I must admit that although I don't usually watch the work being done but cuz I was bored I decided to go scope it out. Everything went good and it was then completely done and rolled up in about half hour and I was paying and on my way. I have also since gone back for the free tire rotation(made sure to call ahead this time) and that only took about 20 minutes so I was happy about that. I'll definitely come back for my other sedan when it needs tires...but not for my truck because they unfortunately do not carry the brand of tires or rims that I'm looking at. read more

I, too, had seen this place several times in the past and never went in. After a nail punctured my tire and Big O would not touch it, these guys would give it a shot. So, instread of ponying up $400 for an elite tire replacement, these guys gave it a shot. If it does hold, not their fault, buy worth the small change to see. Its holding up fine so far! Danny kept telling me to bring my car in, I told him I don't have time and that's why I had the questions. I ended up getting the info I needed from the internet. I then called back ready to buy and was told Danny was busy. I left my phone number and name. He NEVER called me back. I called Signature wheels on Harbor blvd. Wayyyyy better... I ordered the wheel package from them the same day. Bad customer service. Sorry I am busy and can't come in there to fuck around and play your game. I'm not one to write subjective and hatred-laced reviews so keep that in mind when I say this place is staffed by liars and hot headed punks. I called prior for a wheel balance on a ROAD FORCE machine specifically, which they said they had, and if I wanted it done today to leave ASAP. So I crawl through Saturday beach traffic only to get there and have them tell me they no longer have a road force machine. 1) Either they're liars or too stupid to even know what machines they have in stock. A wheel balance machine is probably a top 3 used machine in an auto repair shop. 2) what kind of business has a high end machine, then dumps it in favor of a simpler one? I'm not looking for a red carpet treatment, but I am certainly not going to allow techs and service advisers be rude and condescending to me. read more

From start to finish these guys are the best! I have bought new wheels for my wife's Mercedes and when I was having them put on they had the oil changed, tented the windows darker and found the battery in the back of her car was bad. I did not even know that we had a second one in the back of the car. For my Tahoe they blacked out my windows and put new wheels on. Over the years I have had five or six cars done by Jerry, Berj and Danny all who have treated my wife and I fantastic. I would never go anyplace other than Grand Prix! My car needed new shoes; all four. Wanted Michelin 225/55/17 MXV4. I called four local tire dealers in Costa Mesa because they were convenient and the closest Costco (Fountain Valley, not so convenient) and priced same tire (Pepsi is Pepsi, Michelin is Michelin, same same). Grand Prix was the best price and the most convenient so I went there. Parked my car, filled out a SIMPLE and USER FRIENDLY form, was told the work would take 2 hours and out the door I went. Got a call from Grand Prix about 90 minutes later advising my car was done and ready for pick up whenever I wanted. I showed up at Grand Prix, paid EXACTLY what I was quoted (no ups or extras of any kind), they brought my car up front, delivered it to me and down the road I went. 4 new shoes for my car. They checked the alignment too and said it was fine. No upsell for nothing. That's a great deal by every standard. Paid what I was quoted, done on time, no muss, no fuss. That works well. Couldn't have had a better experience, got a slow leak in my rear tire, called and asked for an estimate on time and was quoted an hour. Got to the shop and they were slammed but still managed to get my tire off plug the slow leak and get me on my way in an hour, as well as saved me the $500 for a new tire. Really enjoyed working with Lee and the team in switching up the wheels on my 2017 A4. I bought car but really wanted a mesh style wheel. I showed up at Grand Prix as I had found a replica of what I wanted on eBay at a ridiculous price and wanted to ask if they were good wheels for the price. Me of all people should've known that you get what you pay for. After realizing I didn't want to go that route we determine the mesh R8 style wheels wouldn't fit my car. They showed me a similar style wheel which was a TSW Max wheel. After seeing that wheel side by side with the R8 wheel I actually liked the TSW wheel better. I did want to keep the Audi look so they made me a quality Audi center cap. I am so happy with my purchase, they helped me to get the look I wanted and really enjoyed my experience working with the guys at Grand Prix. read more

I've been doing business with Berj at Grand Prix for well over 25 years. My family owned the camera store down the street and whenever we needed anything wheel or tire specific, Grand Prix was the go-to. Today, I went in cold; Berj was taking care of business, as usual, so to not bother him, I took my troubles to the front counter. I was greeted with a warm welcome and I explained that I had a flat tire. Looked like I needed a replacement, and I should probably get a set to keep all the rubber the same. 10 minutes later, I was told that the tire was fixable, I was good to go, and have a nice day. This guy didn't know me from Adam, didn't know I'd been trading there all my adult life. He just took care of me. No upsell, no BS. Just good, old fashioned, customer service. I had a great experience working with Lee after having a bad experience with Allen Cadi dealership. I have a 1995 Cadi Deville that needed a wheel alignment and I had a problems finding a shop that can do the service since most shops changed their alignment system to Hunter which cannot be used on cars like mine after buying four new tires. I decided to take the car to Allen Cadi dealership. I was in the waiting room from 3:05pm to 5:35pm when I was informed by the service advisor that the service technician was unable to do an alignment because the rear toe adjuster rod was rusted and frozen solid and that it would not adjust. I was told they were sorry they couldn't do the work and the 30 year technician who worked on the car for an hour was apprehensive about trying to do the alignment in fear he may break something. I left the dealership after spending over two and a half hours for nothing and I was not even given other options or advise. I drove out of the Allen parking lot dejected and disappointed. I was advise by the service supervisor at Firestone in Orange that I should try to reach out to Lee at Grand Prix Performance shop. I was greeted by a customer friendly advisor by the name of Lee who assured me that his technician would be able to do the work. approximately 3 hours latter the technician was able to align the two rear wheels without any complications. It was clear to me that the service given by Grand and Prix focused on completing the job with customer satisfaction in mind. They were also able to diagnose that my car needed two front motor mounts. Something that the service technician at Allen did not identify in his service report but Grand Prix did. Ive taken my old vehicle to cheap tire places, as thers one on every corner... Trust me. Grand prix knows their stuff and wont damage your car while trying to sell you a cheap tire! Its worth a few more bucks to get something done the right way the first time! I brought my car to a cheap tire shops in the past. They ended up damaging my car while trying to jack it up on the wrong place! Yes, this actually happened to me at a Firestone Shop in Laguna Hills! I had a friend rotate my tires for me and was unsure if it was done correctly. Seen the FREE rotation sign in window so figured didn't hurt to have someone check it out. I was told there would be an hour wait but it only took 40min & was well worth it. Jerry (assuming the owner) was beyond helpful and a joy to work with. I found out I had a nail in one tire and dent in another rim which he switched out with a spare i had in the trunk and didn't charge a thing. I highly recommend this place. Had a terrible experience here. I brought in my tacoma after adding a lift and suspension for an alignment. They said it would take 45 minutes so I left my truck there at around 11am. Nobody called all day so around 3pm I called and asked about the alignment. They said "it will be done in 25 mins". I go pick it up and drive it back home to notice the camber was so off that it was visible to the naked eye. I call they said "oh our alignment guy went home early today I'll call you tomorrow". Never got a call back. I had to call them and they said oh..."bring it in and we will show you the read out". The read out was in spec but nobody even bothered to come outside and look at the vehicle. Disappointed I took it to Allen tire and asked for a second opinion. They were quick and let me know that I was indeed correct and the camber was quite off and would cause tire wear. They called me and had the car fixed within an hour and it was cheaper. I called Grand Prix back to let them know that the alignment was indeed off and that I would appreciate a refund to which they wanted me to bring in my new read out. I don't think its worth the time arguing with them again so I figured I would take to yelp to help others out. Save the time, save the money, get it done right the first time. Don't go here.
