This is the best place in SE Michigan for pies and all things pie related. They have quiche, savory pot pies, cream pies, and the most amazing fruit pies. I first tried this company at a festival locally and tried my still favorite pie. ABCC or Apple berry cherry crumble is soo delicious. If you not a fan of a crumble, it's OK. They have regular pies also from cherry, apple, rhubarb, pecan, key lime and peach. A few cream varieties also. If you can decide, buy a slice and try another flavor. I haven't had one that I haven't liked. They are open at 0800, and when I wanted a chicken pot pie, I came here after work for a large carryout order. They also have quiche, sandwiches, and combo platters. If you want breakfast, lunch, or dinner, come on in. Did I mention the classic Maurice salad from Dayton Hudson restaurants. They have replicated the dressing almost perfectly. I grabbed one of those today also. There is only one downside here, so it's hard to decide what to get. I normally get a few pies, both savory and sweet, and with my large family, I never have any waste. Join the pie dough club for more perks. I ended up grabbing my free slice of peach crumble( a new one for me) also.

First time at this pie company, I went with my church Auntie, Auntie Miriam and she highly recommends! We had a light lunch here with soup and a sandwich, their vegetarian options are few but you can always ask to take things out! Now their pies. Ranges from savory to sweet pies, hmmm mmm, so so good! Their crust is light and the pie fillings are too good. 10/10. I also enjoyed the service we received and the atmosphere of the restaurant! Can't wait to come back and get some more pies!

'Ello Chaps, Pie may be in the name of Grand Traverse Pie Company - and it's good - but it's more than that. Grand Traverse Pie Company got it's start in the late 1990's in Traverse City. Since then it's grown to 15 locations throughout the Mitten State. They're a fast casual style restaurant - where you order at the kiosk then take your time eating. The menu features a variety of pies - I highly recommend crumble cherry - but also plenty of comfort food. Soups, sandwiches, salads, and quiches. I won't pretend to understand how a business operates, but one downfall is portions v. price can seem a bit steep, but the quality of food is divine. Overall for food quality and options, but a reflection of price, I give Grand Traverse Pie Company four stars out of five. Worth a trip.

Manitou Sandwich on a croissant, add cheddar and lettuce. They forgot the tomato and lettuce.

Warning, do not come here for lunch unless you're eating a pot pie (which seemed popular to some folks). Employees were slow and nobody seemed to be trained well. My family came for lunch and we all ordered sandwiches, which happened to be the absolute lowest quality sandwiches I've ever received at an establishment. They are an average of $12 yet should be less than $5. The tables were all dirty when we came in, with employees not doing anything. I had to have someone wipe a table down. Good thing nobody asked me how the food was, because it was awful. Not only were the sandwiches bad, but they forgot ingredients that were included on it and ingredients that I had added. The grilled meat was over grilled to the point where they were dry, I needed to douse it in mayo to eat. The amount of meat was the tiniest portion possible, it was probably a singular slice per sandwich. The pies are fine, but at that point, they should not serve food other than pie. The pies were comparable to any other pie shop. Nothing special. We spent around $80 on 3 mini pies and 4 sandwiches. Yikes. Not sure how they have 4 stars.

Order a deli sandwich when you come here. They make them fresh and they are delicious. I had the blueberry applesauce and that was really good with great blueberry flavor. My wife really enjoyed the tomato soup. Too full to try a pie but it's on the list to do.

GT is a great place to grab a treat. This is the closest location to us, but is still nearly an hour away. Hence, we don't get here nearly as often as we'd like. But when we venture close, we'll often stop for a slice. I like the fact that they have NSA (natural) pies. On our last visit, they had natural apple, which was very good. My wife had the lemon meringue, which she also liked. I also enjoy their coffee here, as it complements their sweet treats nicely. The service was good and the prices were quite fair on our last visit. Two slices of pie with two drinks cost $11.20. For an enjoyable treat, this was more than acceptable.

Do have some pies. 1 of EBS and I first dates was here.

The only thing I don't like is that the company has limited locations for how good their food and service. The menu includes many choices of sandwiches, soups, Mac and cheese, and even quiches. Don't get me started about the choices of pies and other dessert. During the pandemic, they have it set up so you go in 1 door and out the other. I always get the option of 2. Half of a Maurice salad is always one of them. I switch between lobster bisque or grilled cheese, but this time I got to herb tomato bisque. They did forget the bread that went with it. No Pop machine now or even a bathroom, but happy to help keep them in business.

My son got to know White Lotus Farms years ago during a summer camp. Being just down the way from…read morethis location, the farms gives great credibility to the products and food offered. The grilled cheese with sausage (pistachio inside) was creamy and innovative. Masala chai with a black jam and pistachio was my morning's order. The space is bright, fresh. clean. Multiple families munched away and played the little wooden games available for guests. Plenty of seating upstairs too. The manager checked in with us for a quick, pleasant exchange.

This is a review for the White Lotus cafe on Zeeb road (not the farms on Liberty)…read more This place is now my go-to for West Side hang-out. Anytime I have a family member visit me we go here. (I'm thinking of holding my office hours here in the fall, IN PERSON, over real coffee! this coffee is yummmmmmmy) From the moment I walk in the door I am greeted with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Who all know me by my first name! (and I have a difficult Spanish name). They greet me with a smile, never rush me, and take my order all the while answering any questions I might have. Since their menu is always evolving and changing, it's great that they take the time to walk through my options. So they have their standard amazing pizzas (which i first had at the farm) and their shockingly authentic pastries (even better croissants than I have had in Paris). But last week I tried their new breakfast food, and MAN! It was GOOD! the quiche, the omelet....and although I am convinced their chai is the best in Ann Arbor (it's not a premade mix of sugar and chemicals, it's the real deal) ...they now have this new line of matcha, so so good. Sarah and Kat make baristas run for cover, they are that good. And even with all that goodness, I was SHOCKED out of my mind when I had their eggplant sandwich. That thing is fire. FIRE. My family and I are big meat eaters, so when this one hit the scene, we couldn't believe how tasty it was. Even writing this review right now makes me want to go there and eat one. (I'll still keep trying their amazing ever-new menu, but this eggplant sandwich has become a standard) Also, there is this very cute small little market attached where I stop by at the end of the day to pick up freshly made bread for dinner. We love the sesame bread, but geez louise, the baguettes are addictive. Their head baker is INSANELY talented. Remember that scene in Ratatouille when the food critic gets transported to a core memory? That happens to me when I eat that bread. I have purchased goat milk soap there (its handmade by the baker's wife), hot chocolate mix, a kabocha squash, this no sugar added mango puree (which I made a no-sugar added mango torte with). They have these really cool unique products, and it really is a treat to stop by. The place is beautiful, and it is a gem to have such a high quality place to eat on this side of town. The passion that these people have comes through in their food, the products they sell, and the way they treat their community. I love Ann Arbor, and I love this cafe. (okay now i really am going to go and get that eggplant sandwich)

Ok. We've given Sam Hill 5 visits and we are done. From the first disaster at brunch to last…read morenight's ridiculousness, we are done with Sam Hill. I'm sure others like it though I'm not sure why or how. Monday night. Two adults and one kid. Service was very sweet. Husband ordered an Old Fashioned with Markers Mark instead of their well. What he got was a super sweet cocktail. Almost too sweet to drink. He said it was fine. He didn't want to fuss. Let's just move on to the food. We both were feeling like a patty melt. I asked to add mushrooms and leave off the special sauce (thousand island type stuff). What we got was a plate with soggy sourdough stuffed with salty saucy pot roast covered in cheese and onions. That is not a patty melt. I looked up the description on the menu online and it doesn't say pot roast but braised beef. I get it after seeing what was on the plate and wouldn't have ordered it if there was a picture or if it said it was saucy POT ROAST. The side salad I ordered for a $4 up charge was great. Beautiful and fresh. Even their ranch is really good. I tried to eat the sandwich but it was too salty and disappointing. I wanted a patty melt. Pot roast isn't a frickin patty. My husband powered through his. He was too hungry. The waitress offered to talk to the manager and came back to offer one of their smash burgers. I asked if it can be a patty melt on grilled bread instead of a bun. She was clueless. I ordered a burger and said just put it on the bread. It came out after my husband and little was well finished with their food. Her talking to the manager took way too long. The burger wasn't a smash burger either, it was two tiny over cooked patties. Smash burgers are thin and with crispy edges. This was not. The caramelized onion fondue cheese sauce was the highlight but at this point I was just eating to fill my belly and get out of there. Husband and little ordered the strawberry shortcake dessert just so they weren't sitting there waiting for me to finish. Idk what that rock hard shortcake was made out of but it took muscle to get thru it. It wasn't dry just very dense and tasteless. There was too much biscuit to macerated strawberries. It needed to be dunked in the syrup to get some flavor. It's was stout enough to handle it. When the bill was brought out, I had to ask for an iced tea refill. No refills were offered or given the whole visit. Total was ~$73 before tip. This is it for us. They have a nice private dining room that I would have loved to consider for our company holiday party but only if the food was better. They are consistently poor in either the execution or description of their menu items.

Sat inside which was large and spacious. Service was friendly and attentive. Got a chicken caesar wrap, which I enjoyed. The house made chips were really good - thick and crunchy. Wrap and chips were made even better with a touch of hot sauce on the side. Also shared the mini pasties. Haven't seen this on menus, and these were good! Super buttery pastry, a nice savory beef and vegetable filling, and gravy.
