Kung pao combo- shrimp, chicken and beef 6/10
    Nikole M.

The food was very mediocre. I expected more for the pricing. We ordered the combination kung pao, chicken fried rice and the beef with broccoli. We ordered to go and it was so hot on the way home, we thought it was freshly cooked but once we started eating, it seemed as if it had been sitting for a while and had been reheated. The freshest thing we got was the white rice. There was absolutely no one in the restaurant and that should have been a sign that it's not as good as it once was. I hope they do better so we can continue coming here.

    Orange Peel Chicken Lunch

I use to go to Grandview ALL the time as a kid back when this place use to be on California Blvd across from Huntington Hospital. They also have another Grandview Palace over in the east side of Pasadena next to guitar center. Grandview is a Pasadena Classic. I came in during lunch time on Friday morning and it was generally pretty slow. We were sat quickly next to a window. The busser/ Server was very attentive and had a strong sense of urgency. Water refill happened instantly and he could anticipate our needs as they came. We ordered and the food came out suspiciously quick. Maybe like 10 minutes tops but it felt like 5. I gave my fiancé the eyebrow raise and said "we probably got some leftovers or something that was sitting out. This came out way too quick" but then we took our first bites and our food was sooo goood. The orange chicken was a bit too acidic but salt fixed that up. Overall 25$ for all this food is a steal so no complaints here. Street Parking is kind of rough in old town Colorado but there are parking structures all around within walking distance. Ambiance was pretty chill and casual. You can tell this place is really only recognized by the Pasadena locals and the elders who heard of this place back in the day. It was generally an older crowd. The outdated interior and worn out menus had a certain type of charm to it but with food prices that low I wouldn't expect a huge renovation on the establishment or material any time soon. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Egg Drop Soup - sooo oily!

This is was my families go to spot for Chinese food, but ever since they moved the food is totally different. I ordered 2 soups today and the egg drop soup is like drinking oil. The food is usually so fresh and flavorful. I have now gone to the new location 3 times and I think it's time to find a new spot.

Delicious Chinese food!! This is a great restaurant, it's very casual but the food is delicious. The portions are good and food arrives very quick. We've gone here a few times and honestly everything that we've tried we liked. We've been to high end Asian food and if honestly doesn't compare. This food is by far the best and the prices are great too. I definitely recommend this spot if you're in the area.

We have been visiting this spot for years with my in laws. The food is very good and it comes out piping hot and tastes delicious. Our fav is the special fish dish. It's like battered and fried fish in a yummy savory soy and garlic sauce. The walnut prawns are also crispy and delicious too. I love the pan fried noodles they use, they are thick and they will add extra sauce if you request. The service is friendly and they are kind. Oh one time they saw Casey affleck here on Christmas! So hey maybe he's a regular? Hah.

Bowls of steamed rice cost $2.50, and we each got one. Portions are generously large and worth the cost; we took leftovers home. The tea offered to us tasted good. The slippery shrimp had a nice crisp with a pleasant blend of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavors. There's a slight spice from the red chili that felt mild on my tongue. This was our first time trying out the dish, and we liked it the most. The orange chicken tasted solid, and it had a slightly crispy texture. For some reason, the rice had an aftertaste I wasn't familiar with, but it was still fresh. There was a fortune cookie at the end of our meal. I'd come back for the slippery shrimp and order something other than the orange chicken. The restaurant opened at 11:30 am, and we were one of the first customers to dine in. We did wait about an hour, but honestly I didn't mind at all because it gave us a chance to relax, talk, and catch up as a family. Once we were seated, my parents were immediately impressed with the decor: elegant and cultural without feeling overly modern or cold. And can we talk about the tea kettles? They looked like literal pieces of art being poured at the table. Ordering was super easy with the QR code system, so my husband handled the whole spread: shumai dumplings, chicken feet, sesame balls, and more. Everything came out hot, fresh, and beautifully plated. The ENTIRE table agreed on one thing: the chili oil condiment deserves to be sold in bottles to take home. It was that good. Smoky, just the right amount of spicy, and addictive. Now for the real test: my in-laws. They've been to *many* dim sum places and are not easily impressed. They declared this place to have the best chicken feet that they've ever had: meat easily sucked off the bone, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and perfectly seasoned. High praise coming from dim sum veterans. Most importantly, my parents' first dim sum experience couldn't have been better.
