I wanted to love this place so badly!!! Service and ambiance were on point!! However, the food unfortunately was not good. Crab Hushpuppies were interesting. Texas redfish pontchartrain was ok- fish was cooked well, but the rice needed seasoning. The steak was terrible! Temperature wise- it was overcooked. Seasoning was strange. Parking was also very expensive in the garage.

This place has been on our radar for quite sometime now. So we decided to stop in since we were in the area. We wanted to love this place. The food was decent and the service was great, pleasant ambiance inside and out. But it just didn't live up to hype. The food was bland and part of our order was wrong so it took a while for them to remake. We're willing to try again on a different night.

First time at grangers but won't be my last! Came for a friend's birthday brunch and we received impeccable service! Every food dish I tried was amazing! From the oysters, to the Thai wings as a starter everything was a hit! I had the mussels and fries as my entree and it was so delicious, I especially liked the sauce the mussels came in! All the portion sizes were great and the ambiance was great! Would definitely recommend

Made a reservation as it was on my list of places to visit after seeing it on TikTok. I was not disappointed! Upon entering you are offered a complimentary glass of prosecco, I was sat immediately and my server got right to the suggestions. He knew the menu and suggested the jalepeno shooters and also told me that the Caipirinha was also great and had it flavored (lavender). My steak??? Cooked to perfection. Brussel sprouts and potatoes were hot and delicious. Coming back with the parents!

Kudos to HOU Yelp for pointing us to Granger's. We were seeking a venue close to our hotel for cocktails and some lite bites before our evening event and Granger's was perfect. We arrived to an empty restaurant and bar area, which is AOK for an afternoon cocktail and some bites! We sat at the bar and our bartender was beyond friendly and we had a number of great conversations during our visit. Do check out their menu as they offer everything from fresh seafood to steaks and pork chops. There is also a wonderful wine menu and some interesting craft cocktails. I ordered their Old (Fashioned) Granger that is made with Buffalo Trace. I've had some bad OFs such as too much bitters but this one was perfectly balanced. Ditto with Plus 1s Paloma another perfectly balanced cocktail; not to bitter or sweet. We took a flyer on the beef carpaccio and it was sliced perfectly thin and accompanied with aged parmesan, capers, and dijon aioli. Then we went 180 degrees and ordered the crispy squid. I was assured that it would not arrive very crispy (shoe leather). The squid was perfectly fried tender and the sweet chili sauce was excellent for dipping. Granger's is great for your date night, special occasions, business meetings, or for just a flash happy hour. Easy Peasy 5-Star Review!

I met up with a friend for brunch at Granger's and had a really enjoyable experience. The service was good. Our waitress was very nice and personable, which always makes brunch better. The drinks were also solid & we both enjoyed what we ordered. The food was good overall. It was a classic, dependable brunch menu, but I especially appreciated that they offered a chicken sausage option. I do not eat pork, so having an alternative meat choice makes a difference for me. It is a small detail, but it goes a long way. The potatoes were another highlight. They were super crispy, which is exactly how brunch potatoes should be. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would go back for a casual brunch with friends but I do prefer their dinner menu.

Very nice restaurant with an upscale feel. I think it could be a great spot for a romantic dinner, as some seating is kinda tucked to the side. There is a bar in the middle towards the back, but I didn't notice it being overly noisy or distracting. Time of day may impact this. Service was great! Prompt and attentive throughout my visit. My food was excellent! I really enjoyed my time and do plan to return.

Granger's was our saving grace of the night! Long story short, this place was a last minute decision after a failed attempt at another restaurant. Yelp led us here and we were not disappointed. Granger's welcomed us with smiles and a complimentary glass of champagne! Wow what a way to start off the night. Small touches like that really make all the difference. We were seated immediately with no reservations on a Friday night. The restaurant is beautiful and feels upscale without being overly "stuffy". Our server was sweet and made good recommendations. The food was delicious and our drinks were enjoyable. I'd recommend the Texas Redfish, the pan seared scallops and the side pear for a refreshment. Compliments to the staff. Solid establishment.

Just made it in time for happy hour. Got a couple oysters, shrimp cocktail shooter and a crab hushpuppy. Really good and fresh. I'm not a hushpuppy girlie but that was really good! Got the beef carpaccio as well since I've become obsessed with it after having it at a resort in the Dominican Republic. I was warned that it is raw because people don't know that. Really cute place. Outdoor area but too windy for me! I sat at the bar. Very friendly bartenders. I felt underdressed but they still treated me well. I'm from the Chicago area. I was recommended this place by the hotel clerk. She sure was right about how good the hushpuppies were!

Granger's does a lot right--beautiful food presentation, complimentary bubbles on arrival, attentive service, and a polished overall aesthetic. Walking in felt a bit like stepping into the pages of a Fitzgerald novel...old world, new money. I ordered the Hummingbird Collins, which looked lovely in the glass but was ultimately forgettable as it didn't offer a discernible flavor profile. The tuna poke bowl was solid: balanced flavors, but I did add some radishes for more texture diversity. The bread pudding leaned fully into decadence so much so that one bite was almost too much. We had an excellent waiter who frequently checked in during our meal. All in all, Granger's felt like a try-hard...a place you maybe should have heard of, but everyone kept forgetting to mention.

The food here was really good. A little bland but still very good. We had oysters, Thai chicken, shrimp scampi, and a creamy salmon pasta. I would definitely give it about an 8 out of 10. The drinks were also pretty good. We had a lemon drop, margarita and something else I can't remember. Overall, this is a great place to go on a date or to have meetings. Very dim light and personable! Service was spectacular. Valley is only $13 so that is a major plus

I've been here a few times and the food is slay good. The steaks, seafood, and desserts are really good. The meatloaf is tender. I want super crazy about the mushroom sauce on it but it was ok. The bartenders and waiters are friendly and helpful. The inside is very pretty and elegant. A few tvs at the bar. I do think the cocktails are over priced and I didn't know that iced tea refills were not complimentary, which is odd. So if you're in the area, it's a good high end option, but there are other places nearby that are just as good and food and beverages are priced more accurately for what you get.

I rarely take the time to write reviews, but after my experience at Granger's, I felt compelled to share. While the food was genuinely good--flavorful, well-prepared, and nicely presented--the service was so poor that it completely overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable dining experience. From the moment we were seated, it felt like we were invisible. Our waiter took an unreasonably long time to even acknowledge our table, and throughout the entire meal, service was slow, inattentive, and frankly, careless. We waited far too long for water refills, check-ins, and any follow-up on our order. At one point, we were left without any service for so long that we began to wonder if we had been forgotten entirely--which, based on the staff's behavior, we most likely were. What made matters worse was the lack of accountability. Not even the manager made an effort to address or acknowledge the situation. Despite the clear issues with our experience, no one came by to check on us, apologize, or even offer a simple explanation. It was disappointing and frustrating, especially given that the food showed potential. Granger's has the kitchen talent, but unless they seriously improve their front-of-house operations and train their staff--including management--on the basics of customer care and attentiveness, I cannot recommend this place to anyone seeking a well-rounded dining experience. Good food alone isn't enough. Service matters--and here, it was nothing short of unacceptable. read more

Ambiance is nice. The service is notably slow . The food was good, but portions were laughably small for what we paid . And I'm normally a guy that's cool with small portions for high price if the experience is great. This was just not the case here . We sat at the bar. Took bartender 10-15 minutes to take our drink order and the place was dead. Dude wouldn't even make eye contact with me or my wife. It's just slow as hell and poor service and I regret coming here . I'm writing this review in the restaurant and I guess they can see I'm writing it, because now they're offering me free stuff . I accepted, the chocolate martini was fine and the chocolate cake with ice cream wasn't . Cannot recommend this restaurant read more

Came for lunch on Sunday. You're greeted with a pour of Prosecco as you arrive. The decor is cozy chic with a lot of seating options. I split the rotisserie chicken chopped salad and chicken fried chicken. The split is a hefty portion so sharing was perfect. The Parmesan truffle fries kept their crisp throughout the meal. The Garden Stroll was a little on the sweet side for me so would opt not to drink it next time. Overall I enjoyed my meal. Granger's wasn't too packed for Sunday so currently a good option for lunch/brunch whether a big or small group. It was street parking or the garage on Sunday. There unfortunately was no valet available when I went. The 1200 Binz garage is attached to the same building as Granger's. The businesses are closed on Sunday in the building so the doors to access the garage are locked. Had to go back into Granger's for the manager use his access card for the door. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE! Right off the bat we were treated with a nice glass of Prosecco and was seated straight away! Absolutely 10/10 such an amazing restaurant! I thought the decor and colors of this new restaurant were so cute! Our waiter was so kind and knowledgeable about the menu! He recommended my cocktail and it was spot on! Everything we ordered was phenomenal. Not pictured was the shrimp scampi and it was very light and perfect addition to our appetizers! Everything. Mauricio Lopez!!! What an asset. We had relatives in town and went to Granger's for dinner. Mauricio delighted us with unusual whiskeys and bourbons - those we had never heard of. We were asking for items that were not on the menu and did he deliver! We were reminiscing about old times and thought of Brandy Alexander's. It wasn't on the menu, but he delivered again. Visited with a gf and did HH at bar. The restaurant is cute and definitely a vibe. The service was amazing and the girls were so nice. The food was so yummy, we tasted a variety of things and all of it was great. I will definitely be returning. The drinks I'd say were okay but the great food and service made my visit worthwhile. read more

Service 0/10 we have no server for 30 minutes. They had the bartender attempting to serve us and run the bar by himself in, Kudos to him; he was amazing trying to assist but obviously over worked and assistance was needed. Took 30 minutes to get water. Another 30 for drink orders and another 30 to order appetizers. We did not order our entrees until being there over an hour and half.Our total time from being seated to exiting was over 3 hours. Food & Drinks 9/10 & is only reason I'm giving two stars. The chef came to table and was very nice and made sure we were taking care. The service manager needs to get it together with staffing and server. read more

A cute little restaurant located in 3rd ward on Binz St. I went with my mom, and cousin just to try a new restaurant. Our server was Chikera (I'm sorry if I spelled your name wrong ), she was excellent! She helped us in choosing our drinks, appetizers, and our entrees. The food was wonderful and came out quickly. We were also able to meet the Executive Chef Manuel Velasquez, he was attentive and super nice! He even gave us the Granger's Bourbon Pecan Pie to try. Overall a 10/10 and will definitely be back! read more

I have been looking forward to trying this place out ever since I saw the bright yellow lights installed on my morning commute to work and I finally got the opportunity this week, Grangers did not disappoint. Unfortunately my order was to go so I didn't get to check out the funky ambience inside, however I did order a variety of items off the menu to see what Grangers might specialize in. Let's just say, they are damn good at a lot! Oysters Baked 1/2 Dozen: delicousssss the Parmesan was the perfect touch and I'm so happy they weren't timid from the toppings, these oysters were LOADED generously and the lemon, breadcrumbs, and creamed spinach lived in delicious harmony. I was full off of 3 alone. Prime NY Strip Steak Frites Subbed fries for Mushroom Risotto: Now, admittedly I'm not much of a red meat eater, but again, I was in search for the Grangers "specialty" I ordered the steak medium well, I felt like it was closer to well to be honest. However, I loved the chimmichurri sauce, the meat was tender and flavorful. The mushroom risotto will absolutely be seeing me again, it was exquisite!! No notes. Capirotada: I wrapped things up with the dense, bread pudding and omg, I had no clue it would be so huge and filling. The golden raisins are like little surprises hidden within, and the bourbon sauce literally had my eyes rolling to the back of my head, SO insanely good. I will definitely be back and can't wait to explore more of the menu. read more

Really enjoyed our experience at Granger's. So happy there is finally a nice restaurant with a great bar in Museum District. We were seated quickly and the complimentary champagne at the door was a nice touch. The menu had a great selection, the food arrived about 15-20 min after ordering, and was cooked perfectly. The horseradish potatoes were so good. Cocktails were also great. Like others have said, the Tequila Mockingbird was great. I also had a whiskey sour that was also well made. Prices were what you would expect for a nice restaurant. Overall we thought this was a great place and will definitely come back - hopefully for the happy hour! read more

This was our second visit to Grangers- the first it had only been open for 3 weeks, and we were so pleased we returned. We found we like to sit in the area they call the gallery and were fortunate to have the same server - Candy. I may blend my top picks from each visit in one review as I don't get back here often.. but we had to try things that I hadn't seen reviewed before.. like the Jalapeno Shooters. Don't miss the Steak Frites with Chimichurri...perfectly done to temperature and I love that they let you change out the side dishes! The upscale Chicken Fried Chicken was only outdone by the country gravy... and I needed a sandwich after my Poppers so French Dip it was! Although we live out of state, we will become regulars here! read more

New restaurant struggles? The hosts and the waiter was nice, but the kitchen was a struggle. We went on a Saturday evening around 7 pm and the kitchen was slow. It would take 40 minutes to get a glass of wine, and then when the wine came out the waitress was calling out the Brand instead of the type of wine or saying the wrong wine apparently Pinot Grigio and Sancerre are the same thing. Eh, ok. I ordered the ginger salmon bowl. On the menu it comes crudo (raw), but I requested for it to be cooked and I saw the waiter write it down! For starters, the portion size was one that would have been acceptable for lunch - not dinner, and of course it took forever to come out, and it came our wrong - the salmon was raw. I sent it back. It came back 13 minutes later.....with some cooked pieces on top and some raw pieces on the bottom. Sigh. I think its questionable but fine that you cooked the salmon that was already in my bowl - but you didn't even scrap all the raw fish out to cook, and then you dumped the cooked fish on top of the raw pieces.....yeah Im good. I am so pleased with my experience here! I was impressed with the energy and intentional care and service from each service provider I encountered! My favorite part was seeing the beautiful outdoor patio space, what a surprise! Juan was the most superb professional waiter and provided such detailed care and service, he really made me feel valued as a first time guest. All of his suggestions were accurate! I don't live in Houston but my daughter does. When I'm in town and have a chance to do a mommy daughter date night this is our go to. The ambiance, the staff and the food are all top notch. They greet you with a glass of Prosecco which is a really touch. If you get a chance go there! read more

Tried out Grangers in Valentine's Day! They gave us a free glass of champagne upon entering and me a rose. Food was good. We got their valentines special which included raw oysters, salads, meatballs, 2 entrees and 2 desserts. We both had the filet, which was yummy. It was all actually yummy! My husband isn't a huge fan of raw oysters but said theirs were good. Service was great, especially considering how busy it was. The restaurant was cute and boujee inside. You can definitely tell it's an expensive place to eat when you walk in by how nice it is. I enjoyed my time there so much, I forgot to take pictures! But the ones on their website are legit. The only issue we had was with valet. It's like they didn't know what they were doing. Will definitely go back! read more

5 minute walk from Museum of Science. I made reservations for Saturday brunch for 7 people. I loved that you could order from brunch menu or main menu. The interior is lovely but we decided to sit outside since it was a nice day. You definitely need to ask for Ray to be your server. Besides his expertise in service, he was very explicit about the menu selections and provided the perfect suggestions. For apps, we started with the crab cakes, ahi tuna and the filet tips. For entrees, we had Shrimp n grits, fish tacos , a Snapper dish and someone had the cowboy burger. Everyone raved over their meals. We ordered the pecan pie and were honored to have chef Manny come out to also present us with his famous bread pudding and talk with us. Chef Manny obviously has a passion for making sure guests have a delicious meal and our server Ray made sure we had a memorable experience. read more

This restaurant is gorgeous inside. The shrimp scampi is different than any kind I've had before. In a good way!!! And the appetizers are bomb too - we had the jalapeño shooters, the carpaccio and the hush puppies. Highly recommend this place. read more

Went recently on the fourth of July. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Our server, Juju was super professional, competent and friendly. Food was amazing. The only low point was the Weekend in Wimberly salad, which was a little on the meh side. A little too bitter. My boyfriend's steak (NY strip) with horseradish whipped potatoes was so freaking tasty. I wanted to steal all of it! I got a mocktail version of the "Tequila Mockingbird" and it was so, so good. The zip from the jalapeno added the perfect touch. My boyfriend added alcohol to his "Floranora" and it was also super tasty. Our dessert, the frozen nutty crunch pie, was delectable. We're definitely going back to try other items! read more

If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by!! The food, drinks, service, ambiance EVERYTHING was excellent! Including the price point. I'm just visiting Houston for a few days and this has been the best meal I've had this far. Our server Ray was a delight! I would've loved to come back here again. Everything was excellent. Exquisite. Absolutely Exquisite. I had the beef carpaccio, spicy tuna crudo, truffle fries, champagne, and tequila mockingbird. Everything tasted absolutely fabulous. The flavors complemented each other well, the beef carpaccio was not stingy in the slices provided, the truffle fries were perfectly seasoned, and the crudo flavors were perfectly balanced. She then text our friends group and said we all had to come together and we did just that. She made reservations in advance as this place is popular thanks to recent Michelin Bib Gourmand awards as well as many other accolades. Walk ins are welcome as well. Our reservation was later in the evening so after a night of bar hopping, we ride shared in which I think is one of the best options as parking is limited here or you have to find street parking in the neighborhood. This place is literally a house turned into a restaurant. Inside is just multiple rooms with a couple of tables. It makes for a unique, intimate dining experience, perfect for a date night. In our case, we were a group of nine so we got patio seating. The patio is spacious and well kept, and if the weather cooperates, a great place to hang. One thing that really stood out to me is the amazing ambience of this place. I was told that the bartenders pick the music for the night from the owners extensive vinyl collection. It was high quality, iberico pork steak with shaved brussels and all kinds of other tasty ingredients that when combined made such a tasty bite. We then went to the sea with the Drops of Grouperter. It was good, but not something I would order again. It was a little too smoky for my liking. Our biggest dish that came market priced was the Kick His Ass Seabass. This was a whole fish that was presented beautifully on a platter with all the accouterments to make your own elevated fish tacos. We left no morsel of fish behind. It was absolutely delicious. One of the things this place is really known for is their pies. This was the part I was most excited about. Just like their menu, their pies change up. We got all their offerings that night which they presented on one big platter of goodness. Their main stay and I believe always on the menu is the famous Olive Oil Cake. It's not a pie, but I can see why this is such a popular dessert. I can't even describe it, you just have to try it to understand. The pies we had were the Black Bottom Strawberry Pie, Banana Rum, and the Peanut Butter Pie. I would order all of them again. We all had a difference of opinion on which was the best, but my fave was the Banana Rum. Overall, I was highly impressed with this place and kind of mad at myself for waiting so long to make it here. It had made it's way to the top of my list of favorite restaurants in Houston. Zaddy was being a bit of a clutz that evening and knocked over my $20 mezcal cocktail, so what does he do? Orders me another one! The chicken dinner was definitely the winner--fresh, juicy breast, crispy skin...don't be cute, you won't finish it unless your party has at least 4 in it! The flies were ruthless! Very annoying! They were acting like the geekers that come bother you just outside your favorite fried chicken joint in south Dallas! Our waitress brought out a table fan so that made the experience a little more tolerable. The chocolate peanut butter pie tasted like a salt rock and the lemon chiffon pie had great flavor but not lemony enough for me. All in all this place is a bit pricey but truly a gem! I chose Granger's to celebrate my anniversary with my wife on June 18, 2025, hoping to try a new spot in town and create a memorable evening. We had a 7:30pm reservation, and I had left a note asking if they could do something simple--maybe a message on a dessert or basic decorations--to acknowledge the occasion. I even offered to pay if needed and asked for a call to discuss options. Unfortunately, there was no response and nothing prepared when we arrived. It was disheartening, especially since the restaurant wasn't busy. Most of the tables were empty. Adding to the disappointment, even though they knew it was our anniversary, we were seated at a table right next to the kitchen entry, tucked in a dim corner. For a nearly empty dining room, this felt careless. First impressions matter--especially for new customers. We requested to be moved to a brighter area with the turquoise seating, which they accommodated, but the initial gesture left a sour note. Now, to be fair--the food was good. It lived up to the expectations for a restaurant in the $50-$100 per person range. But that's the baseline; for that price point, excellent food is expected. What wasn't expected was finding a produce sticker on a sliced apple in my wife's $26 chopped chicken salad. We didn't make a scene--she was hungry after waiting nearly an hour for our entrées. She simply placed the slice aside and waited for the server to notice and respond. He didn't. No apology, no acknowledgment, no effort to alert the kitchen or manager. When I politely brought it up at the end of the meal, the waiter finally informed the manager. But even then, the manager never came to speak with us or offer a sincere apology. Instead, we received a 25% discount on just the salad. Frankly, it felt dismissive. This experience was underwhelming, and I won't be recommending Granger's. While the food has potential, a truly great restaurant delivers more than flavor--it cares about service, details, and how it makes guests feel. On a night that should've felt special, it felt like we were just another table to get through. Sadly, we left feeling let down. Next time, I'll be going to Traveler's Table read more

I've now visited Granger in the Museum District three times, and each visit has been a great experience overall. RACIST MANAGER KEVIN CONDOM Said I'd be fit to work at a Waffle House and called me stupid, and made my friend cry I had an incredibly disappointing and upsetting experience at this restaurant. The owners demonstrated blatant racism, making my friend--who is a beautiful and kind person--cry at the table due to their microaggressions. No one should ever feel unwelcome or disrespected, especially in an establishment that claims to serve the public. To make matters worse, the owner, Kevin Condon, directly insulted my friend, calling them "stupid," which is completely unacceptable. It was clear that people of color, particularly Black customers, were not treated with the same level of respect as others. Given that this happened during Black History Month, it only underscores how deep the bias runs in this establishment. Additionally, the restaurant is located in an area that does not feel particularly safe, making the entire experience even more uncomfortable. There are plenty of other restaurants that offer great food and, more importantly, treat all customers with dignity and respect. I strongly urge people--especially those who value inclusivity--to take their business elsewhere. Granger's is my new favorite place! I loved my experience at Granger's Restaurant & Bar located in the historic Museum District. I ordered the crab hush puppies as an appetizer. They were mouth-watering delicious. I had the shrimp and grits for my main meal and it was savory and full of flavor. My adult beverage was simply refreshing.
