2 pc fish, fries, and mac & cheese

My sister and I had lunch here to celebrate Juneteenth. We thought that we would patronize a black owned business while getting our Soul Food groove on. My food was $42.00 ($35.00 plus tip). I had 2 pieces of fish, 4 wings, onion rings, hush puppies, and Kool-Aid . I read the other reviews, and most said that the fish was good. However, I found it under seasoned and flavorless.  My wings were bbq flavored and nothing to write home about. The onion rings and hush puppies were fair (but frozen I'm sure). My sister had fish, fries, and mac and cheese. There was much more mac than cheese, and my sister agreed that the fish was not seasoned well. Even though we dined in our food was delivered in to-go plates. The service was "to-go" as well. It took me about 10 minutes to get the attention of a waitress just to get eating utensils and napkins. We were well passed finished with our meal before anyone came by again to check on us. Conclusion: The price of my meal did not match the quality of my meal. And my tip was a simply courtesy, which includes the fact that we had to pay for our meals before we received them.

The food was excellent here, the area finally has some good ole fashioned Cajun/comfort food. And the kool-aid was the icing on the cake!!!! I'll definitely be back!

I'm sooo glad they opened up a dine in location!! Finding good, seasoned, REAL catfish is hard, especially in Plano, everything was perfect down to the customer service. Y'all go check it out before more people find out they're open because I guarantee once it's known they'll be crazy packed!

Stopped to try the catfish and fries... won't be doing that again. So many better options for the price for 3 pieces of catfish.

And I'm not going to lie the person taking our order was on the phone with his girl lowkey I wish he asked if I was sure cus I was feeling bold. It's okay it's still soooo good. Just painful to eat!

Maybe we went on an off day, but unfortunately, I don't have much desire to return…read more My biggest issue is with the cleanliness of the restaurant. Every table was dirty, and the table felt sticky. The bathrooms were disgusting, which we unfortunately had to navigate with a 2 year old - which makes the overall experience lose marks for not being family. The chicken was fine. I got the medium, which was so hot I could barely eat my meal. Coming from someone that loves spicy food...I was surprised. I normally order on the spicy side, but always medium when trying a new restaurant to gauge the spice level. The sandwich needs more coleslaw/sauce to balance the heat. Also, I wasn't aware that the meal didn't come with any sauce, and ended up having to buy some at the register after the fact. The chicken itself was well cooked, I just didn't feel like the experience was worth it for me or my family. Alsoc why does a restaurant with a soda fountain have Coke Zero but not Diet Coke?? Now that's just bizarre behavior lol.

This place is SOO SOO good. If you're wanting seafood in the area in a casual setting, this place…read moreis it. We tried a variety of things including two types of oysters, but I have to say this is my favorite fish and chips in the area. For the cost you get SO much (3 large pieces) of fish, fries and a few hush puppies. And it was nice and fluffy, so so good. Definitely my new favorite go-to place in Frisco for seafood. I feel this place doesn't get enough love! Look forward to going back!

Stopped into Anaya's Seafood Scratch Kitchen in Frisco on a Tuesday around 2. It was pretty quiet…read morewith only a few people there. We started with half a dozen raw oysters and they were fresh and delicious! We also ordered a dozen grilled oysters. They were okay, but nothing spectacular and probably not something we would order again. Hubby ordered the fish special that was on the board that day. I can't remember exactly which fish it was, but he said it was just okay. I ordered the snow crab with Cajun butter and unfortunately this was the biggest disappointment. The crab meat was extremely mushy and the texture was just not good at all. I tried several different legs from the cluster just to make sure it wasn't only one bad piece, but they were all the same, so I couldn't finish it. The corn that came with it also tasted old and had a strange sour taste, so I didn't eat that either. The Dragon Fruit Pineapple Mojito, however, was DELICIOUS! Definitely one of the highlights of the meal and I would absolutely order that again. One thing that was a little strange was the timing. Considering how slow it was when we were there, the food seemed to take a little longer than expected to come out, and my drinks took even longer. Overall, it was a mixed experience for us. The raw oysters and mojito were great, the grilled oysters and fish special were just okay, and unfortunately the snow crab entrée was a definite miss. I'm willing to give Anaya's another try and order something completely different if we happen to be in the area, but based on this visit, I wouldn't make a special trip back just to eat here.
