Matcha Latte with Brown Sugar and Vanilla Cold Foam
    Nicole D.

I used to come here all the time since it was near my office! Ordering ahead is very convenient during rush times. We came here on a Sunday at 10am and there wasn't much of a line and we got our drinks quickly! I like working in the lounge area, it's ver spacious. Plenty of seating and it's pretty clean. Staff are always so kind and helpful. It's a little pricey at 1$ extra for syrup and $1.50 for cold foam. I got a brown sugar matcha latte with vanilla cold foam and it was good! A little milky but hit the spot. I enjoy all the flavors they have. I think my all time favorite it's the pumpkin spice.

I've stopped by Gratitude Coffee Bar several times and really enjoy the atmosphere. The chairs are comfortable, the space is inviting, and it's a nice spot to relax, catch up with a friend, or get a little work done. The drinks are well made, and it's clear they care about quality. My only hesitation is the pricing. I typically order a 12 oz dirty chai to go, and with the added espresso shot it comes out to $10.25 ($7 for the chai plus $3.25 for the shot). The drink is good, but the espresso upcharge felt surprisingly high for a relatively small beverage. Overall, I enjoy supporting local coffee shops and appreciate the welcoming environment here. I'd happily give five stars if the pricing felt a little more in line with the drink size, but it's still a pleasant place to visit and worth checking out.

The staff are very friendly at Gratitude. I used to always order the ube matcha latte here. I love how they make the ube matcha latte. This is a great place to sit down, read, and/or do work. I would recommend this place to other people for their matcha drinks.

Cute coffee shop in the middle of a strip mall! We found this place on Yelp by searching for local coffee shops and this one stood out! The staff was friendly and there was plenty of parking in front and behind the cafe. It was well decorated, with big windows, an open-air bar, and cafe merchandise for sale. There was also a bulletin board advertising other businesses, a bathroom, and wifi options. It was a bit warmer this day, but there was a big fan in the front providing some air to the space. There was also a free or paid wifi option depending on the bandwidth one would need. I ordered the iced chai latte with caramel syrup and almond milk, which was a bit pricey for nearly $10. However, I will say it was delicious and made quickly. Probably the coolest thing here though was the co-working space. The front of the cafe had plenty of seating for people to talk or work. There was a hallway leading to the back room that had larger tables for bigger groups, implying more of a co-working or quieter space. Definitely appealing for people wanting a third space - will be back!

Beautiful ambiance and would be the perfect place to study! The staff were nice, the service was very quick. I ordered the Tea Lemonade (Hibiscus Berry flavor) and it was pretty good. I prefer sweet, so this was on the more sour side to me, but still refreshing. I would love to come back to try the coffee and food!

yk i have to give it to them for having housemate syrups. i always love a seasonal menu!! good summer drink variety. got the ube matcha latte. tried the matcha on its own, definitely doesn't have much depth and i don't think it's wildly great quality. but it's good for a latte! the ube matcha is pretty balanced. ube really comes out and still has the vanilla and matcha taste. though, $9 for a average quality matcha is a lot. i'll give it a dollar for house made syrup. but it's still a lot... staff was helpful in their recommendations. seemed like they really like their job! music isn't too loud. tons of seating and a lot of people were there chilling. nice natural light that isn't too direct.

Coffee shop located in a busy strip mall in Concord that includes lots of eateries. This coffee shop seems to be a very popular hang out spot as this place was packed during our visit. (Maybe because it was the holidays, but it seemed like some people were doing work here as well). They have a menu full of lots of classic caffeinated beverages as well as some that unique and fun. The baristas here are very friendly - I even was chatting with one for a bit where I was visiting from. I ended up ordering an eggnog latte and it was delicious while providing me what the caffeine kick that I needed. We didn't get to hang out since we were still doing a bit of holiday shopping, but this place definitely looks like you can spend some quality time there. Seems like plenty of parking with its own lot, but with these places, they can get really busy.

Green tea - they didn't put it into the nice setting shown in the photo. It's just a cup.

I come here regularly. It was disappointing today because the service lady wouldn't put my tea into the regular nice looking tea set as shown in the photo. She didn't flat out so no but was so hesitant so I finally said ok fine no need. Then a minute later I saw that she left the coffee shop. So I guess she wanted to leave - but could have just told someone else to help out if she doesn't want to. I don't know- maybe it doesn't even come in that nice setting shown in the photos. This is my first time ordering the tea.

DRINKS: I couldn't resist the temptation to order off of the winter menu (that ends feb!)...1) matcha peppermint latte and 2) trinity latte. MATCHA PEPPERMINT - matcha has no bitter aftertaste which makes it no comment amazing - however, lackluster peppermint... you taste it once and you never seem to achieve them mint vibes ever again TRINITY - very light nutmeg, cinnamon, etc flavoring - very sweet even when ordered "less sweet" per individual taste for which this cup was order SERVICE: quite frustrating to say the least. Had to repeat my name multiple times and my first name is not very original aka very very very common...wasn't very nice either. AMBIENCE: very instagram spot worthy (you know that back drop with fake grass and glowing cursive lights... that's what I'm talking about). Lots of light colored furniture which brings out the freshness and calmness vibes. Makes you want to stay here for quite a long time. Going around 1034am, this place was nearly packed. Has limited (3 sections) outdoor seating. Located next to a church and thus in a plaza with a private parking lot. Would I come back? I love the name of the store. But I'd try others before routinely calling this my home base.

Coffee was good and was a nice spot to get some work done! I enjoyed the cafe's aesthetics and gratitude theme, a good reminder! Service was quick and I appreciate when they have self serve water and lots of outlets! Friendly staff and warm environment!

Thee name of this cafe alone keeps me coming back for more! Gratitude Coffee Bar has quickly become one of my go-to spots. I'm no coffee connoisseur, but I know the difference between a crummy cup of coffee and something special. I love the beautiful latte art; it shows real craftsmanship and it makes me feel like I'm at a fancy place. Their avocado toast is a must-try too, loaded with creamy avocado, juicy tomato slices, crumbled feta, and a balsamic drizzle that ties it all together. I think the staff is so focused on getting the orders right that they forget to smile though. A genuine greeting like "Welcome to Gratitude cafe, what can I get for you today?" for example, with a smile, would really make the icing on the cake. Don't get me wrong, they are friendly and energetic, but in my honest opinion, a genuine smile and even a "thank you for your order, see you again", would really make the icing on the cake! The space itself is beautiful, with big windows allowing in tons of natural light and a lovely view, making it a perfect spot to relax, work, or catch up with friends. True to their motto, life really does taste better with Gratitude Highly recommend if you're looking for great food, good coffee, and a genuinely pleasant atmosphere!

Food menu. The font was a little small and hard to read.

I'm always on the search for a great study/work cafe with great ambience, healthy food options, delicious coffee, friendly service, and strong wifi. Had their avocado toast with egg but requested no butter. Also had an almond milk latte and a pastry. Their staff is super friendly and food is good. They provide free water. There are tables with chairs or benches and counter tops with high chairs to work on your laptop. Most customers were there to work/study so the ambience was quiet and respectful. There is also a big back room. The WiFi was a little slow on the day I was there.

You might want to get here early because it fills up quick and has limited tables available. Clean and sleek design with an efficient kitchen and staff. I ordered the majestic which consists of braised spare rib with a sauce, carrots and mashed potatoes. Our waitress was pleased when I gave her the order because she knew it was impossible to have a negative review on this establishment when you eat this dish. Outstanding quality, freshness and taste. We also ordered the fried rice with sirloin and French omelet. The chef must have spent a season in Paris because the omelet was textbook French, impressive. The sirloin was good too but my wife didnt really care for the rice. I liked the rice but it wouldn't hurt if they gave a steamed rice option. Next time we'll request that instead for a 10/10 dish. We also had the crown drink and the garden of Versailles. Both were worth trying if you come here. The presentation for the crown drink had every neighboring table turning their heads and ordering one for themselves. Our wonderful waitress suggested the drink and also got elated when we did because she knew we were gonna leave with all smiles. I believe they're owned by Lapisara Eatery which is also a well-known spot in SF. I originally wanted some classic brunch items, but their étouffée and the majestic sounded really good. Both dishes were soo yummy. The étouffée had a good amount of crab and crawfish, and it was hearty and comforting. The majestic was THE STAR. A little after they set the dish down, the meat literally just slipped off the bone. The short rib had a nice crust on the outside and was cooked perfectly inside. It was so good. My only complaint was how little mashed potatoes we got. Other pictures seem to have gotten a healthy scoop, but we got what looked like a a smear of mashed potatoes. Considering the price I wish they added a bit more. Regardless, our meal was amazing. Everyone was so kind and the inside was very trendy. I loved it!

If you blink, you might miss it. Service is still 10/10! This time around, I ordered a hot matcha latte, and honestly, I wasn't expecting much (let's be real, some places can mess up matcha). But surprise, surprise -- it actually tasted like real matcha! It was delicious! For my meal, I tried the cowboy scramble, which I swear was everything but the kitchen sink tossed in a pan. It was hearty, satisfying, and totally hit the spot. The only hiccup? The melted butter they used on the toast had a weird aftertaste. I can't quite explain it -- like if butter went to a weird party and came back a little off. But hey, it didn't ruin the whole meal, just a little side note. All in all, I'm into the new look, and I'll definitely be back for that legit matcha latte and hefty scramble!

I originally went out looking for a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich and Googled "good breakfast…read morenear me." This spot came up, and although my wife and I have driven past it many times, we've never stopped in. Today, I decided to finally give it a try. After looking through the Google photos, I changed my mind and ordered a breakfast plate instead of a sandwich. Parking was a little challenging. I arrived around 11:00 a.m. and had to circle the block a few times before finding a spot directly in front of the diner. When I walked in, I wasn't sure whether I should seat myself or wait to be seated. All of the waitresses appeared busy, so I stood near the entrance. Once she was available, Marianna greeted me. Initially, I wasn't a fan of being asked whether I was picking up food rather than whether I was dining in or taking out, but I quickly realized they may be accustomed to regular customers who already know the process. Since it was my first visit, I explained that I wasn't sure if I should seat myself. Personally, I think a sign near the entrance would be helpful for first-time guests. Since I was dining alone, I chose a seat at the counter and ordered the Sugar Plum Special with cheese grits and sourdough toast. While waiting for my food, I noticed something that concerned me. The staff did not appear to be wearing gloves, and I observed food being handled after touching various surfaces, including condiments, plates, glasses, and trash areas. While I understand that food service relies heavily on proper handwashing practices, I personally felt uncomfortable watching bread being handled directly by hand. I requested that my toast be handled with a utensil instead, and my request was accommodated without issue. When my food arrived, my eggs were cooked exactly as requested--scrambled hard--and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The bacon was a little saltier than I personally prefer, but that's more about my taste than the preparation. Overall, both items were flavorful. Now, let's talk about the grits. I come from a strong Southern background, and we take our grits seriously. The presentation was fantastic. The butter melting on top and the cheese looked absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, the texture wasn't there on the first serving. The grits were noticeably gritty and undercooked. After a couple of bites, I sent them back and requested they be cooked a bit longer. One of the waitresses explained that customers typically need to request the grits "well done." That was surprising to me because I've always believed grits should naturally be cooked until smooth and creamy. In my opinion, that's how they're meant to be served. Thankfully, the second batch was much better. While they still could have been stirred a bit more, the texture improved significantly and was much closer to what I expected. I also want to recognize Marianna for her excellent service. She was accommodating, attentive, and handled my concerns professionally throughout the meal. Overall, I would return. The restaurant has a warm, family-oriented atmosphere and an old-school diner feel that is becoming harder to find these days. It reminded me of the kind of place you'd visit after church on a Sunday morning or somewhere you'd go with your grandparents for a comforting home-cooked meal. While there were a few areas that could be improved, the welcoming environment and friendly service left a positive impression on me.

In addition to their standard breakfast/brunch/lunch menu, there were also weekend specials. A lot of great-sounding options but since it was our first time, we decided to try some of our favorite traditional items. The corned beef hash was in the form we like and well-seasoned. It was accompanied by two eggs (ordered over easy and cooked just right!) as well as crispy hash browns that were not too greasy. The sourdough toast was crisp and came with assorted smucker's jams. We also tried their breakfast combo where we ordered eggs and link sausage (4 juicy links) along with a large portion of nicely prepared French toast. The coffee was Columbian and hot, and my cup always stayed full. They also provided large glasses of ice water, and provided ketchup and Tabasco sauce for our breakfast platters. The portions were large and commensurate with their prices, which were reasonable, and the service was outstanding. We are already aiming to get back soon to try other things on their menu.

I decided to give this neighborhood cafe a try and so happy that I did. The place has a very welcoming atmosphere. Little bit of a nostalgic vibe with a touch of modern. I loved that there was the old diner counter to sit at and watch the cook do his magic. There are several tables as well inside and some tables outside to enjoy a meal under the sky. If you view the menu, you'll see they offer quite an array of choices. My choice today was the Portuguese omelette with toast and hashbrowns. I complemented the cook on how easy he made it look to cook on a griddle and how well he managed to prepare the dishes. If you've ever tried to do an omelette on a flat griddle, you'll understand my point. The food was amazing. Well made and with such great flavor. I'm really hoping to be here next weekend to give this place another visit before I depart for home. The omelette was three eggs and plenty of filling. You'll be pleasantly full or asking for a box to go. The hashbrowns were perfect also. The lady my order and making sure I didn't need anything was super friendly and had a great personality. A trifecta for a five star visit to an out of town visitor. Kudos to the Bay Leaf Cafe for making my morning a wonderful one.
