Graze to Griddle, Graze to Griddle, you gotta go to Graze to Griddle! That is what I've been hearing constantly for quite a while now and today I tried Graze to Griddle! With all the hype and great reviews, I was very disappointed...... I ordered the Original Single 'Graze' burger with American cheese (which is the best ever cheese for a good burger). I ordered the burger with lettuce, tomato, raw onion and pickles with the 'Graze' sauce on the side, along with an order of their seasoned fries. I brought my food home (15 minute drive) and the burger and fries were still quite warm. This is generally a good sign your food is still hot when you get home to enjoy it. But the heat and steam kills the integrity of the lettuce, tomato and texture of the bun and fries. I tried a seasoned fry first in a dip of the 'Graze' sauce which I initially thought was bland. I opened up my single 'Graze' burger and it was a bit soggy and falling apart. I blame this on the heat of the burger. I tidied up the burger and took a big bite......it was at this point I was beginning to believe the hype. The burger itself is smashed thin on a flat top griddle, which is one of the best ways to cook a great burger, PERIOD. Smashing the burger thin on the flat top gave this 'Graze' burger a beautiful crispy sear on the outside while keeping the burger super juicy on the inside. The burger is served on a very simple yet delicious butter toasted potato bun. Just like a potato bun you'd have at home, but 10x better. The lettuce and tomatoes were wilted, but edible. Before I get to their 'Seasoned Fries' let's get back to that bland 'Graze' sauce. Evidently my taste buds were out to lunch when I first tasted the 'Graze', sauce because it wound up being delicious. I suppose I didn't get enough on the fry to get the full flavor. So the sauce went from 'bland' to 'Grand' a couple bites later. The 'Seasoned Fries' were good! They sure tasted very FRESH and if these fries were frozen and weren't hand cut fresh fries they fooled me! The only thing that could have made the fries better is if they were cooked twice, but that's just a personal taste. At the beginning of this review I stated 'I was disappointed' and I was. I was disappointed in myself I didn't eat my 'Graze burger immediately when I ordering it. Wrapping up a burger of this quality and freshness is blasphemous! If you can, eat there, in your car, standing up or rent a big U-Haul truck and put a table and chairs in the back for a family dinner! If you MUST take these delicious burgers home, ask for the veggies on the side at the least. 'Graze to Griddle' maybe a small food truck operation, but they are HUGE at what they do! This is a good and good for you burger place. I went there and arrived a little earlier than my two daughters and 8 grandchildren, my niece and her kids! Well, the proprietors son was handling everything. We had a huge order and he and his compatriot whomped out the many meals quickly; he wrote everything down so we knew who's was who's. I love a good burger, and the single graze was a really good burger. Two other people were with me and I tasted the single graze chorizo, cheese curds with remoulade sauce and fries; all really good. My only complaints would be the wilted, warm lettuce since I like my lettuce crisp, and the music was a little too loud. I will just ask for my lettuce on the side next time. High quality, tasty ingredients. I ordered the chicken burger and seasoned fries. Everything about my burger was excellent with the exception of the sauce. It was a little heavy handed on the pepper and overpowered the flavor of the delicious chicken. The fries were fried to perfection but a smidge too salty. I ate them anyway because they were still good. Also, to the owner, you might consider placing the word 'Burgers' on your storefront. I walked by your shop so many times not realizing what kind of food was sold here. I was optimistic simply based on looking over their menu. Not the typical burger from any restaurant I have experienced in my 52 years. While there are three types of burgers to choose from (all of which you can' add up to three well seasoned and smashed thin patties) I selected the chorizo burger - chorizo cheeseburger w/lettuce, onion, and 'maple-chipotle' sauce (creamy, sweet and smoky). Firstly, it was ready in 4 minutes and resembled a classic, delicious grease-truck burger from my college days after midnight. This burger is magnificent with a light bun and melted yellow American cheese oozing from between the patties. I am currently intermittently fasting ably eating one meal a day. Maybe my hunger is influencing this post but either way I finished my sandwich and immediately ordered a second and was pleased with another 4 minute delivery. Wow! read more
