We all ordered the French toast breakfast, which was only $7, and honestly, for the amount of food you get, that's a great deal. First of all, the French toast portion was HUGE. Definitely come hungry! It was really good, and the sausage was probably my favorite part of the meal. It was that old-school, ground sausage formed into patties, and the flavor was so nostalgic. It immediately reminded me of the kind of sausage my grandmother used to make. The only real miss for me was the potatoes. I appreciated that they were actual hand-cut potatoes instead of the frozen cubes you sometimes get at restaurants, but they had absolutely no seasoning. Even just some salt and pepper would have helped, although onions and green peppers would have made them even better. Without ketchup, I honestly wouldn't have eaten them. I also had a peach mimosa, which was delicious and refreshing. Rachel, our server, was great. She was attentive without hovering and offered suggestions and recommendations, which I always appreciate. Overall, Grill 309 was a nice breakfast spot with generous portions, really good food, and especially good value for the price. It didn't quite blow my socks off enough for five stars, but I definitely enjoyed the experience and would give it a solid 4 stars.

Who is willing to go 35 miles one way for a burger? This guy if Graze to Griddle is cooking! Best burger I've had in a long long time! Curt was beyond hospitable and the food was amazing. I thought, "How does McDonald's stay in business with competition like that?" So, I ordered the special, and was told by the staff that it was a family-owned restaurant, another good sign. The first thing I noticed was the roll. You cannot have a good cheesesteak without steak and cheese - everyone knows that. But what most people outside of the Philadelphia area seem to forget is that it is a sandwich, and as such, the quality and type of bread or roll plays a major role (pun intended) in the dining experience. The roll was fresh, and flavorful. I was told that it came from a bakery multiple times a week to ensure quality and freshness. The meat, cheese and peppers were generous, and expertly prepared. It was delicious. However, just as good as the sandwich were the fries. They were perfectly cut, seasoned, and fried. Not greasy, not dry. Perfect. I could make a meal out of the fries alone! And of course, no matter the meal, if the hosts are not amiable, and helpful, the experience will be disappointing. The owner, staff and even my fellow diners were to a soul extremely friendly. It was like having a family meal, in a town I never visited before. I might just have to take another hour and a half drive. I think that I hear a Pizza Steak calling my name.
