    Price for replacement filter
    Carl H.

I went to Grease Monkey on 9/6/24 to have my cabin air filter and my air filter replaced, what a disappointment.. I will ever go back. I was over charged per the pricing on the web site for the services preformed. When I got home and checked the work they had done I found several screws missing that had been replaced. A screw and socket was left on the floorboard of my car. The quality of service was very poor, and the value for work done was overrated. as I was over charged for the work. The Manager was very unfriendly and I did not fell welcome. I call them and they did resolve the issue. I would advise never to do business with this company.

Proof of them installing the air filter upside down and backwards

I downloaded yelp just to give this review, but they almost completely ruined my car. I went in for an oil change and they took out my air filter and put it back in WRONG which lead to dirt getting in and ruining the sensors in my car. My husband broke down on the side of the road, had to get towed and my car has been in the shop for days. Also they said it's due for an oil change when keep in mind I supposedly just paid 100$ for one...Only go here if you hate your car and want them to ruin it :)

This is the undercarriage covers left unsecured

I took my car in for an oil change and as seen on the photos: They failed to secure the undercarriage covers.

Took my truck for an oil change and the tech wanted to sell me a new air filter - I said no because I had one at home. The next day I couldn't get into overdrive and when I opened the air filter housing there was -- get this -- dog food in the housing. I suppose it's possible they didn't put it in there but what are the odds? Don't go here. Save yourself the headache and the wondering. Whole place is shady.

Will helped me every step of the way--he was knowledgeable, transparent, and took the time to explain my options so I felt comfortable with the decision. I ended up not going with the full engine swap, but the entire process was handled professionally and efficiently. The communication throughout everything was excellent, and I really appreciated how helpful and honest Will was. Overall, I'm very pleased with the service and the experience. I'll definitely be coming back to Christian Brothers Automotive for any future automotive needs. Highly recommend! -Shaffer

I brought my car in for a stalling issue. The initial diagnosis cost $775 to replace a battery…read morecable and add a ground screw, which felt very high. Afterward, I was told the car had multiple oil and coolant leaks and was quoted an additional $3,500 for repairs. On a car worth about $4,000, this didn't make financial sense. When I declined the extensive repairs, there was no discussion of smaller, interim solutions or things I could try myself; the only suggestion was financing the full amount. The immediate next step was being asked to retrieve my vehicle. The shop was extremely busy, and I left with the impression that they prioritize large, high-cost jobs. Disappointed with the experience and lack of flexible solutions, I will not be returning. Update to my previous review: It's been two weeks since I picked up my vehicle, and I have not observed any oil on my driveway. This seems inconsistent with what I was told about the severity of the oil leak issue during my visit. I have checked the oil level multiple times and it appears to remain at the same level. After posting my initial review, I received several phone calls from the shop owner requesting that I modify my review. I eventually asked that these calls stop. Service details: I paid $180 for initial diagnostics, during which I was told there was an 80% probability that the problem was my battery cables. I then paid $235.19 for new battery cables, but it did not resolve the issue. A subsequent diagnosis costing $359.98 identified a bad ground wire, which was then repaired by tapping in a new wire. Additional observations from my service experience: When I collected my vehicle, I noticed what appeared to be a black, grease-like substance on the exterior door handle that was not present when I dropped it off. I also discovered that the front emblem was no longer attached to my vehicle. When I inquired about this inside the shop, staff located the emblem and handed it to me and told me it fell off when they closed the hood. I check my fluids every month, this has never happened to me. There was no offer to repair the damage.

I told him I had an appointment for an oil change and I wanted the free tire rotation special. He said they didn't have a special. I told him what I read online and he said Oh, I thought that was over. While I waited, he sent an email with things that were highlighted in red, that can't wait. A few minutes later he said that I hadn't accepted or declined those services. I said I was thinking about it. I went back to the email a few minutes later and the estimates were gone. He said it was because I declined those services, which I had not. When he told me the car was done an amount popped up with no explanation. I asked to see the written bill, which he kept calling an estimate. He was VERY condescending to me during this process. One of the dire recommendations was that my battery is almost dead and needs to be replaced for $350. The paper copy he gave me just gives an estimate, not the wicked red zone that the original email had. The paper copy also says I declined the service, which I did not do. I will definitely be getting it checked somewhere else. I noticed another reviewer said they were given a list of needed repairs, and another shop said none of it needed to be done. I will be leaving another review and will contact whatever corporate office I can find if I learn that I am being scammed.

They referred us to the Kia dealer, which I knew would be very expensive. So I did some research online and found Franklynn Automotive. I called and described the situation to Steve. He said they likely can handle it, but would start with a complimentary second opinion. After their inspection, they determined that the hose does not need to be replaced and we only needed to refresh the refrigerant, which they do have the equipment for. In addition, the reason the other shop might have suggested the hose replacement was because of a leak related to the axel. All in, the repairs would be substantially less than the dealer quote for work that may not have been needed in the first place. Overall, great experience with Franklynn.
