Priscilla is AMAAZING. I have a weird hair texture/thickness that most people in my life cannot master. They listened to me and what I was aiming for (a line bob with keeping my bangs long. Great personality I loved talking with them and the best most important part... they are skilled and still asks questions. I asked for a bit shorter later on because I wasn't sure at first how short I wanted to do my a line in the back but after they showed me I got bold and decided to do shorter. This visit was a shock. My favorite operator, Milly, "doesn't work here anymore." I had no appointment and didn't mind waiting 30 minutes. There were two operators working. They both seemed pretty detached, uninspired, weary, bored. The woman who cut my hair seemed to have just completed beauty school. I asked for bangs and layering and for the frizzy ends to be taken off. She was rather tentative about everything she did, not taking charge like a pro. I figured whatever she did, it would be an improvement. I had gone without a cut for several months. My hair had fallen out over some time, and the new growth has a new silky texture. I told her at the beginning that I wanted the second picture on the website -- the girl in the green dress: "bangs and shoulder length with layers". I got very little response to that, and she left great clumps of the old frizzy hair hanging down so that I had to tell her again that it had to go. I was not hard to please, but this woman is maybe in the wrong business! I am way old and tightly budgeted. They gave me the veteran discount! (USAF, Captain, '64-69) I tipped. Worst hair cut I've ever had Long strands of hair poking out everywhere. Whole cut was uneven. One side way shorter then the other. I went back to have it fixed just to end up with the same problem but even shorter hair. I honestly don't know how the young lady has a job. She has no clue what's she's doing. The gal that cut my hair, did just that, "cut" it. Less than 10 snips across the back and she was done. Now I have to see my regular person to have her fix this mess. The gal did not offer any tips or suggestions for cutting my very long hair. It looks like a bell. It's way too heavy on the top. My husband could have given me the same hair cut. It's my fault. But I have since moved, she has raised her prices astronomically (rightfully so.. she does amazing work) , and can no longer afford her. I know you all must think I'm crazy for giving great clips five stars, but this one deserves it. Samia generally cuts my hair, she pays a lot of attention to how my hair grows and cuts it so it's easy for me to style it the way I like. I recently started getting a hard part (part shaved in) at her urging and it makes doing my hair in the morning a lot easier. Samia also puts great notes in the computer, so if she's not there the other people have something to go on. I get a cut here weekly since my hair grows so fast. They also do a great job on my kids hair. Sometimes the place gets pretty busy, so I would suggest to check in with the Great Clips app. read more

I wouldn't give any star. The barbers are rude, unprofessional, and the one I was with he didn't know how to even cut hair. I took my 5 yr old in for a haircut at this place for the first time because we r visiting from out of state. The person helping had a bad attitude from the beginning showing that he's unhappy to cur a child's hair. He expected my kid to stay still like a statue without any movement. He directed my kid with a rude tone how to move his head. Then the barber said "I can't do this". Then he asked another barber to assist amd just left his station to go to the register and my kid was crying because the way the barber was rough with him and the way he he was left alone setting with an incomplete haircut. When I tried to leave and let them know this is unprofessional and the customer is just a kid and he does that all the time but still gets a good haircut, the rest of the store ganged up to say that their coworker tried. read more

Normally, this place is amazing. There's never really a wait time when we come. Also never had an issue with any of the people cutting hair until today. The stylist who cut my boyfriends hair, Serena, did a terrible job cutting his hair. It's not like he gets something crazy, he gets a 2 all over. Having the misfortune of breaking my shoulder during a bad fall, I've been in a position of discomfort, pain and inability to perform some of the most normal requirements to maintain ones personal grooming needs. After contacting several salons just to wash my hair and nothing else, except maybe braid it while wet...prices ranged from $15 to $30 dollars, which was outrageous!!! I became frustrated, called everywhere I could think of to obtain what I considered a reasonable price and as good fortune would have it...called a place called GREAT CLIPS in West Sacramento. I was fortunate enough to talk to a hairdresser named Buffy, and she was extraordinary. She was professional, experienced, compassionate and excessively accommodating, and charged me only $6, which I rounded to $10 as a tip. Buffy and GREAT CLIPS deserves extraordinary mention because they are professional, clean, accommodating and well supplied. In my opinion, it was the best experience I've had in over 30 years. KUDOS to Buffy and GREAT CLIPS as an extraordinary and exceptional company in West Sacramento...in the Lowe's complex. I encourage everyone to go there and be treated like royalty. Alright in my book! So yesterday I walked in there because I was in pretty bad need of a cut. I've always liked Great Clips ever since I lived in San Diego, but I have actually not been a regular to them in the Sacramento area. I found out however, that Great Clips was having a sale on haircuts for about a week, so I figured what the heck! They did a pretty good job at this location. The girl that cut my hair seemed really genuine, and gave a vibe of really enjoying her job. I actually can't remember what their normal price is for cuts, but I know the sale going on right now is a great deal. I've got the funniest shaped head, so I know if they did a good job, then they're good to go. There's a good amount of parking at this location. I like it because it's in the Industrial area of Sacramento. I'm not the kind of person that likes being in ridiculous crowds, so this worked for me vs. their location in Natomas. I guess it's not so much the crowds, but the traffic that gets me about the busier areas like Natomas. And lets face it, people in the Sacramento area are not very good drivers, so I like to stay away from being around busy areas anywhere in Sacramento if possible haha! Now going back to their location, yes.. I love their location. It's in a nice developing area of what is considered West Sac. The other thing I do like about Great Clips in general is, that they do have their own training facility off Northgate. And it gives me some peace of mind that their workers are trained locally before they work in their shops. All in all, I'd say I was pretty pleased with the experience. read more

I'm super bummed, because she is seriously the only one who has cut my son's hair perfect. When she wasn't available, I would give someone else the benefit of a doubt and they would always mess up! No joke, if Melissa was working, and my son had someone else, she would fix it! I'm no hairstylist, but if you're licensed, and this is your area of expertise, wouldn't you be able to make a straight line or make both sides of someone's hair even? My son stays still and does not move, so that is no excuse. My son is in need of a haircut, but I won't be returning here. So I don't usually go here because it's a little farther than a SuperCuts closer to me, but today I had a coupon so what the hell, why not. Usually I go into these places thinking "I hope the stylist isn't weird and difficult to talk to" but today I was surprised. Becca (sp?) was super friendly. "Farjana" ;P was also super friendly. Together they made me feel like their friends as she cut my hair. I had a blast. Our banter was funny and we went back and forth so quick I almost forgot I was getting my hair cut. I got my hair cut here about a year ago and it was the worst. I didn't realize the damage had been done until a coworker pointed out that my hair looked like someone placed a bowl on top of it and cut around it for "layers". Sure enough, the back of my head looked terrible. I went to another great clips in the bay area to get it fixed, and they couldn't believe that someone had cut my hair like this.
