JC Penney Salon @ Arden / Sacramento. My stylist was Benjamin. Visited about one week ago. Benjamin did an excellent full head of blonde foils, toning, cut and style. My results are just beautiful, color, cut and condition of my hair following the highlighting. He was very precise and careful to use the safest levels of developer to keep my hair healthy during the process, as well as olaplex treatment. This was very much appreciated as I have thin, fine hair that I had battered and neglected for the past 8 months or so. I have medium to dark brown hair. Every couple years I'll get blonde highlights or a balayage. My appointment was with Caitlyn. I went in for blonde Carmel highlights and a haircut. After six hours in the chair, the color was far from blonde! I never have experienced this in the 30 years that I've been going to get my hair colored. Caitlin also suggested a money piece, but it's NOT done correctly. It looks like a painted skunk stripe! Like the money piece she failed to section,weave(blend/tease) and apply the foils correctly. Which resulted in blocky, lines and uneven unflattering shades of color. Jc penny offers a come back guarantee on any service that you're not happy with! I wish I would have known this ahead of time. I refused to pay $180.00 at first. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What was more frustrating was when management tried down playing this horrendous hair color! "Give it a couple days, you might just like it!"[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The stylist in my opinion should not be doing bleach/highlights! She needs more experience with hair coloring. My daughter and I had an appointment for trims with Ellie. She completely destroyed my daughters hair by cutting the front to where she looks like she has a mullet and left me with extremely choppy uneven layers. Worst haircuts we have EVER had. It was clear she either is very new or only cuts men's hair or something. I didn't even realize how bad it was until we got home. My daughter has to wear her hair up everyday with barrettes to hide the terrible cut. We had to go to someone else to try to fix it and there wasn't even much they could do. We're stuck waiting for it to grow out now. I have more than one star because Ellie was very sweet, but maybe advise next time that you don't usually do cuts on long hair? So. Bad!! read more

I had a bad experience at a different Salon the lady who cut my hair more like chop my hair didn't even it out from the back and I noticed something was wrong with my hair it wasn't laying down right people were asking me who cut my hair because it looked very terrible. Luckily i met Katie I asked her if she saw something wrong with my hair she said that's something she can fix real quick and she did an amazing job, she even showed me how the lady cut my hair from the back. But a lot of women would be super mad if they didn't get what they asked for especially with hair. Before, she used to be really good at cutting my thick hair, but I don't know what happened to her skills. She ruined my hair. She made 2 layers; one short and one long. Picture speaks for itself. To briefly summarize, my profile is thin, medium length caucasian hair with some natural waves in all the wrong places and somewhat dry. 2nd profile is my daughter's: mixed ethnicity, you could call her curls a type 3B-C. I took my daughter to Antwanette looking for a new stylist that I could stick with, I found her. My daughters hair was past shoulder blades if straightened, but dry and so uneven at the ends. Antwanette gave me the best cut/shaping ive ever had-no joke! So I knew I could trust her with my daughter's lovely locks. She advised of the best conditioning for her hair that day and did a superb job reshaping my daughters hair. So I went in to get my hair cut and made sure to call and make an appointment. I told them I wanted the wash/cut/dry service and when I got there I was told my appointment was for a quick cut only. The hairstylist said it was not an issue and did not have any appointments after me and could do the full service. During the entire hair cut, she kept most of the conversation around her friend being single and how she was going to a party that night. I should have stopped her from cutting my hair because she started to blow dry my hair with the round brush before cutting it. When she was done my hair looked fine, I paid and tipped her then left. I got into my car and started really looking at my hair. It was cut so unevenly. my bangs were cut in layers and not in a good way. the then layer of my bangs closest to my forehead was the length it should have been then the rest of my bangs were cut crookedly and at least 3 inches longer than the rest of my hair. I went to a small salon the next day, paid a fraction of the price, and had them fix my hair. During the cut she was shocked to know I paid that much to have that bad of a cut. Close to 4pm the shop was almost empty when a young stylist name Katie and another girl (unfortunately I didn't catch the name) apparently were Hungry they had BJs burgers delivered up to the salon and then decided to eat right in front of the two or three customers that were still there. It seemed unprofessional to use the work station as a eating table. Soon after Katie's feet got cold so she used a hair blow dryer to warm up her toes! So I never leave a bad review, but last weekend I had the worst experience at this salon. And I have been coming here for 2 years. To get hair cuts and some color ever once in a while, but last week I decided I wanted a balayage with a Carmel very low color very similar to my brown. When I was done sitting in the chair for nearly 4 hrs I left with this ugly copper orange color. ABSOLUTELY was not balayage and was not what I wanted. So I left the salon. Thinking maybe it will look better when I style it myself a week went by and I decided to get a second look, when I went to a different salon. They said that she never toned my hair and she NEVER ADDED THE COLOR!!!! That explains the orange look. I was so upset because I wasted 150 and had to spend money again just to get my hair right and I even had to spend more to get it deep conditioned because she killed my hair. Terrible experience!! Went in for a blowdry by far the worse blow dry I have had in my life. My hair was a complete mess still not properly straightened and then she was like I can go over it with a flat iron for an extra $35 !!! April was such a sweetheart, even though my first visit didn't go as planned she did everything she could to get me in as soon as possible to another available stylist to get me to the color I wanted! Omar, the manager was very flexible and sweet , didn't even charge me for the color correction. He totally worked with me and my schedule as well to get me in ASAP! Last but not least, Tram is amazing! If your a blonde , go to her! My hair is so soft and healthy!
