After undergoing several rounds of chemotherapy, my hair began to grow in quite patchy and unsightly. I decided to re-shave my head so I stepped into Great Clips on a whim. While I never caught the name of the wonderful hairdresser who helped me, she sensed that I had been through a lot in my recent cancer journey and made me feel like we were old friends. She took my mind off the fact that I was a cancer patient which is more than I could have asked for. After the quick shave, she stated that her services were on the house. Husband walked in, completely empty. He was asked if he checked in online. No. he was told other people have checked in (although no one was there) and he would have to wait for them to finish. Sat there for 7-10 minutes (certainly enough time for his pretty simple buzz cut) and finally a family of 6 comes in. She could have absolutely been done in the time he sat there in a completely empty store. Lost a customer forever... Tried to get a haircut today, but left. Admittedly I generally get good service here, but today was unacceptable. Location opens at 8:00. I tried to check-in online before leaving my house at 7:50, but the system does not allow it until 8:00. So I just drove over. Got there at 7:55 and surprised to see someone was already getting a haircut. I go inside and sit down (earlier than it was possible to check-in online). Several minutes later another customer walks in. The lady working asked if he checked-in online. He said yes, and she then told me that he gets to go first - even though I was sitting in the store before it was possible to check-in online. Unacceptable. read more

This review is for a stylist by the name of Wendy. I've been to this location many times; a regular. Everytime I've come here, I've never had a bad experience. Everyone is so friendly and can communicate their ideas to me so I understand completely what they will do to my hair. It wasn't until recently I came in for a haircut and Wendy took me to the seat. She was friendly for about 3 minutes and then became extremely rude. I had a friend come in with me to get her cut too and her stylist was very talkative and sweet. Wendy just seemed cold hearted and I got the vibe that she didn't really want to put in the effort to cut my hair. I asked for "blended long layers; not choppy and too blunt. I want wispy front layers without having you cut off too much. I'd like to keep the length while also thinning out the ends of my hair because it feels too heavy". While I was explaining to her these clear instructions, she gave me the dirtiest looks of annoyance and disgust. She made me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about though I had asked for the same cut to other stylists in the past and those stylists understood. She also only cut my hair with one plain scissor and a comb. Everytime I've asked for layers they always thin out the bottom with thinning shears and she didn't even bother using that. She was being way too cocky thinking she knew what was best, disregarding anything I said I wanted. She didn't thin out the bottom of my hair even though she said she did. She then said "I'll put down you asked for thinned out ends..but I'm sure no one would know what you're talking about". Right then I just wanted to leave her rude, overly cocky presence. She wasn't professional and I honestly don't know if I'd come back to get my hair cut here anymore. My hair is a tad too short and the ends are too thick and choppy. The ends are so blunt like blocks, which is ridiculous because I asked for wispy, light ends. There is a Super Cuts a few minutes away that I will have to check out because this lady has no idea what she's doing. read more

I am a big fan of the Great Clips salon chain, and had high expectations for my hair cut. This location is closer to my house than the location on Freeport.To my surprise, though the service is great, the quality of the cut is not as good as Freeport. The lady who cut my hair went way too fast, and thus my cut was not as good as it has been compared to the service at the Great Clips on Freeport. I will continue to visit the Freeport location regularly. read more

Went in for a simple bald fade haircut and left with a bald spot and an uneven fade. Two people (one was the manager) had to take turns cutting my hair in attempts to "repair" the damage. Throughout my haircut, I asked repeatedly if there was a problem because they would intermittently stop and begin to whisper to each other. Finally, the manager told me that they were having trouble cutting my hair due to my "parietal bone being so prominent." Regardless of my head shape, a professional should not have so much trouble cutting hair and definitely should never put the blame on the customer for having an apparently unnaturally shaped head. Although I was compensated for the poorly done haircut, I will not be returning for another haircut. read more

Never again are we taking my son to this place. We gave the lady a specific length yet she kept cutting and cutting until my son basically had no hair left. Looks like a buzz when that's definitely not what we asked for. She also only shaved one side of his forehead and not the other. Great staff! Laura always takes great care of me when I come in. I leave looking as good as possible for me =) and they are priced fair. 3 or 4 people have cut my hair here and they are never rush on your cut. Would recommend this place to anyone. Went straight to the mall and bought a hat. The guy cutting my hair was trying to start conversation with the other stylists and went and checked on his lunch during my hair cut. Seriously every time I come here they only have 2 people working?!? The hair cuts I have gotten have been okay but I like most people don't enjoy waiting 20+ minutes to get a hair cut. You get what you pay for, right? That was certainly true for my daughter's recent haircut. We asked them to trim her bangs straight across right above the brow line. The first stab was certainly above the brow line, but not straight by any means. Then, we asked the woman cutting it to even the bangs out...they only got shorter until they were positively too short. Sure hair grows out, but how hard can it be to cut some bangs?
