Went here for an inspection and oil change. Called and made an appointment with the manager, Rashid? for 8:30. He said I would have to wait in line after the oil change for the inspection. I arrived early the next morning when they opened pleased to see no line for the inspection. The cashier was friendly and handled my paperwork promptly, said the oil change would take about 20 minutes. I left to get coffee and do some work. Upon returning at 9:15 (25 minutes after the car should have been completed) they were just starting on my car. The pleasant cashier said there was nothing stating that I had an appointment but that they were doing it anyway. Finally finished at 9:45, no apology and no sense of urgency even after speaking with the manager who then remembered my call. Very inefficient service! Won't go back. read more

Decided to check out this place since it got good review. Other customers seemed happy, upon arrival. I was concerned I'd need an alignment. I was told I didn't need it. I appreciated the honesty. Great place to get an oil change or your state inspection done. Recently brought my Jeep here because the heat wasn't working. After paying 60 bucks for an inspection where they found an additional $800 dollars worth of work to be done, they told me it'd cost at least $1,200 for them to take off the entire front dash and change the heating core. I took it to Dranesville Auto for a 2nd opinion, they figured that all I needed was a blend door actuator. They found some additional work that needed to be done, advised me on what was most necessary and what could wait. I walked out of there paying $675 to get my heat working again and a new muffler/tailpipe. I've been going to Great Falls Exxon for years for simple things like I said, however I'll be going to Dranesville Auto for anything serious. read more

I just finished taking my out of state car into Great Falls Exxon for the initial vehicle safety inspection as well as emissions test. The staff was so courteous and helpful with all of my questions. The whole process took no more than 30 minutes and this Exxon is connected to a nice little shopping center, including Safeway, CVS, Starbucks, Capital One, Subway, etc, so you can wander to get some errands done while you wait. They looked over the car and determined which issues were legitimate, which ones were not, and which ones to prioritize. I have since had all the necessary work completed and have been very happy. Best service anywhere. I've referred every new friend and neighbor in Great Falls over the years, and none have been disappointed at the level of service provided at a price less than the dealer, and no higher than any other repair shop in Fairfax County. I've never been 'sold' an unnecessary repair or service. Saman, who manages the service operation, in my opinion is very generous, humble and the most trustworthy service manager, particularly good in diagnosing and servicing BMWs without the hassles or cost of going to the dealership. I was surprised to see even one poor review of Great Falls Exxon, and suggest overlooking cheap people expecting free oil changes given the synthetic oil alone is $40 at Costco, and $12 retail per quart in local stations. Every business has to prioritize, and there can certainly be extenuating circumstances, yes, even in car repair. I want a job done right the first time at a fair price, and appreciate there's a shop I can trust near home. Of course, I'm thankful that through the last decade that they've dropped me off at home, picked up my car, test driven my cars when something didn't seem right, topped off fluids, and jump started my car and even my tractor once, without asking for a dime, so I'm loyal, and yes, I tip very well for good service! read more

I took my 1965 Cobra replica car to Great Falls Exxon to have it inspected. Because over the past 8 months my husband and I had installed new upper intake and throttle body on my car's engine, I was very excited to get it back on the road after being in the garage for so long. When I arrived at the Exxon, I was the second in line for inspection. The mechanic got in my car to pull it into the Exxon garage slipping the clutch like he didn't know how to drive a manual transmission and immediately gunned the engine. Smoke poured out of the exhaust pipes as he revved the engine. He pulled it into the garage, and told me that he could not inspect my car because it would not pass emissions. I informed the mechanic that my kit car was not required under Virginia law to pass emissions, because it was not driven more than 5,000 miles per year. At this point the owner of the Exxon walked into the garage and he told me that I obviously did not rebuild of my engine correctly. He also showed me on his cell phone that he video-taped my exhaust pipes emitting the smoke when his mechanic revved my cars engine. I told the owner that my car was not required to have an emissions inspection, and he told me he would call the state police to find out what the rule was for my kit car. I told him that the smoke was most likely coming from the antifreeze that was leaking onto the engine. He told me to stop yelling at him, which really puzzled me because I was not yelling, and he then told me I was WASTING his time for this$16.00 inspection. I was shocked that the owner was so rude and condescending to me after the many years that our family has taken our cars to this service station. I wondered if I were a man bringing my car to him, if he would have acted the same way that he did to me. I got into my car, and drove it home. I will NEVER go back to this Exxon station at the corner of Walker Road, and Rt. 193 EVER AGAIN. read more

I have gone to Saman with my past Honda and 2 previous BMW's regardless of the problem. I began taking my cars to him when I was in college and have continued to let him service my cars as I have progressed to a young professional. Saman and his staff have a passion to provide excellent service and value, which they excel in doing. Every time that I take my car there, not only is the work done right and in a timely manner, but I know exactly who is working on my car. In addition, Saman (and staff) has great knowledge regarding cars (especially BMW) and he always teaches me something about my car that I didn't know. The prices are more than reasonable, the mechanics are great, and Saman is literally always there to answer any questions. Whether you have broken parts that need repair, tire installation from TireRack, an oil change/basic service-I would recommend to anyone that they first talk to Saman. I am a younger individual (mid/late 20's) and at no time did anyone in his entire shop ever disrespect or try to take advantage of the fact that I was a young professional and potentially naïve with cars (we all know the car mechanics who do this). As a parent, you can trust sending your teen there and the treatment will be exactly the same. Being able to trust who is working on your car is huge, and Saman and his entire staff are one of the few service providers that I can honestly say provide value through integrity and service. I needed two bent wheels replaced. I ordered the wheels online and a family member recommended these guys to switch the wheels out. Called on a Saturday to see if they could A) mount wheels and balance tires B) take appointments. "Tony" said I didn't need an appointment and to go ahead and come in on Monday. Got there at 9a. The front desk person took my keys, gave me a form to fill out regarding the problem, but as I waited no one came out to give me an estimate or talk with me. At 10a I asked the front desk person to point out the head mechanic, then I spoke with him about what needed to be done. He said the job would be completed in a couple of hours. My cell number was featured prominently on the paperwork, so I wandered around town then checked back at 1p. (Giving them 3 more hours) Still wasn't ready. The front desk guy checked with the mechanic to see when it would be done, and I was told they were finishing up on the current car and mine was next. At 2p (5 hours of waiting onsite) it still hadn't been moved from its original parking spot and I asked for my keys back. Very Very Poor Service. read more

His structured general knowledge of automobiles always give me a peace of mind that 1- My car(s) gets fixed w/o any hassle of experiencing same issue in short/mid term, and 2- Several times I have seen that he never touches areas that still have even half life on them to avoid imposing extra cost to the vehicle owner. Never experienced such bad service. Had trouble with credit card at pump and message said "see cashier." So walked inside and I said what's the problem and he says "how should I know ". Downhill from there. Very rude, clearly didn't want to help, and sorry, didn't speak English so couldn't communicate. Won't go back even though I live nearby customer there for many years. Plus, gas is 10 cents a gallon higher there than nearly Spring Hill Exxon probably because they now have a monopoly in Great Falls. read more

I read all the positive reviews and I'm really surprised. This was my first time going there and it will be my last. I called and asked how much would it cost for an oil change for a Prius using synthetic oil. I was VERY clear that I wanted synthetic oil. I was told about $40. When I got the bill, it was $79 - nearly double. When I protested and repeated the phone conversation (I believe the man I was talking to was the same one that I spoke to on the phone), he couldn't have possibly cared less that I was charged twice what I was quoted on the phone. There were no issues or problems with the car - just a standard oil change at twice the price quoted. I consider that unethical and really sleazy. There are too many other options to mess with a station that cheated me. read more

I have got one review for them. CHEATERS. went for regular state inspection an break checkup,they first scared me, then a day after whatever they did to the brakes a burning smell starts coming from the tires. When I went back with the problem instead of apologizing they told me that they were trying to help me ... by doing what making the brakes to fail. In the end I got it all repaired for 200 bucks for which skyline people estimated 800.
