Decent food, decent combos. One of the first stalls to open inside Yaohan which is nice. We tried combo 1 and 3. The combos comes with steam rice rolls with beef and lettuce, chive pocket and cold spicy noodles and burger. My favourite was the chive pocket and the burger which was really juicy. The rice roll was pretty good too. Spicy noodles had some good chew on it. We got medium spice but I'm not really into spice at 10am in the morning.

I'm surprised the other reviews are so bad haha... I had a pretty decent time here. I don't expect too much service, but they were fast and not rude. For the price it's enough. For the food, it was my first time having rice roll with egg (gasp) and I loved it! The extra eggy flavour totally works and blends well into the smooth, silky rice folds. Their sauce packs a lot of flavour, a little more salty than other places with an extra aftertaste I can't describe. Not sure if I prefer this or the 'regular' sweeter sauce at most places. Portion is generous. Worth a try if you're tried of waiting in line at that other place in Richmond (no shade tho they good too).

Normally, I'd elaborate on my experience but one word describes it all, disgusting. Not just the quality but also the service. Waited almost 20min for my food, servers were rude and unprofessional and the food was inedible. Wonton soup was bland AF and not sure why they used "pasta like noodles" and the "bbq pork bun" was basically like a hamburger patty in a steamed bun. I hope they close this place down ASAP.

Very delicious food, I devoured it aggressively and with ease. The flavors resonate and feel close to home. Amazing.

I only tried the pork pie and thought it was a great snack for $2.50. I like seeing the pie made fresh.

The food is expensive compared with other restaurants. They sell food of a poor quality and smaller quantity. Congee is one example.

Wow, this place is a GEM, I am so in love with the Rolls, I visited 2 days in a row, had to get…read moresome more rolls in before we leave BC, which was so sad! Hei Hei Rice Roll is legit good, totally recommend, even my daughter too, I thought of her ( since she LOVES rice roll and couldn't make it on this trip with me) while enjoying these roll but when I shared with her the photos and mention that we will go back here with her- she already visited. She said it was so good! Hei Hei Rice Roll is located at the Richmond Public Market, oh wow - this place is really popular, on the 2nd visit I was the first in line then the line wasn't so long but while waiting for our order, the line got super long. I was lucky I didn't wait long in line. Best to arrive early. I am not sure what the secret to the rice roll but Wow, it's so thin, silky, smooth texture with the toppings, so great together. The last 2 times we had rice roll with my daughter at Portland and Seattle- followed per Instagram reels- those did not even compare to these rolls. My first visit I got the combo which is the best deals, starts at $15.50 but depends on what you select for the selection for rice rolls and congee. I got the pork & preserved egg congee, shrimp, mushroom, pork rice roll. The 2nd visit I got the combo again, with liver & preserved egg congee, scallop and shrimp rice rolls, but I got my order wrong for the roll- they missed the shrimp. fyi-I found out that bean sprout, corn, toppings are free! Both combo came out to $17. super cheap! Cash only, they take USD but its the same dollar $ value. I wish they take credit cards, hehe. & the Verdict: Yummy, the congee hits the spot for comfort food, loved how it is cooked and they add peanuts too. Love the packet of sauce for the rice rolls, the umami-ness, so good. Best to eat it hot and fresh! Don't forget to ask for chili sauce, to add that extra spicy kick! For now, I am not sure I'll ever find a spot that is closest to Hei Hei for my congee and rice roll fix until I get to visit Richmond, BC again.

But they have a good system for dropping in and then you get a text message sent to your phone telling you when your table is ready. So for service it's pretty good. It's more traditional Taiwanese. So you have a choice of five different noodles to choose from. Most soups, either common normal or spicy. Next time I will try spicy version. Overall a very enjoyable lunch experience. The portions were quite large. I would recommend not parking close to the restaurant and parking further away. Sometimes parking in the city of Richmond is not for the faint apart.

Also, my Taiwanese friend said this was the best in Richmond so I think that's a good sign. The friends I have brought here have also enjoyed it and would come back. The food comes out pretty promptly, hot and fresh. You can't go wrong with ordering one of their beef noodle soups. I also like their deep fried items, having tried their chicken nuggets and squid tentacles. I want to try their other appetizers as well. Their menu is quite extensive and also has a dim sum section. I notice a lot of customers ordering their drinks too, although I have not tried any myself. Service is very good and attentive. They are not short staffed here at all. The staff are always refilling your tea, which is delicious. I will definitely be back. The restaurant is a decent size, so even if it is busy, there shouldn't be too long a wait. Plus you can add yourself to the waitlist online before arriving, if needed. Since it is in a strip mall, parking is free and always available and you can do some grocery shopping in the area afterwards.

What's appealing here is that their Instagram advertises daily specials so you can get some dishes for a great discount (like 40% off). We tried the braised combo (pork ear, pork intestines, fish cake), Taiwanese egg wrap, braised pork sauce rice with deep fried pork chop, and yam taro mochi balls. The braised combo is pretty solid - I didn't really like the funkiness to the intestines (I generally enjoyed it in barbecue settings) but the fish cake was fantastic. I also liked the texture of the pork ears. The Taiwanese egg wrap was a bit tasteless, so I wouldn't recommend. Braised pork sauce rice is the lu ruo fan which is a large portion with seaweed, bean sprouts, and soup on the side. Pork chop was flavorful and juicy but not crispy batter, which is okay. Yam taro mochi balls were sweet and chewy. I don't like taro but I loved this dessert! Service is okay. They give a water jug for self pour but the water jug was of questionable cleanliness. The specials were not discounted so we called it out and we weren't told that we had to put the order with a server, not the QR code, so it was a strange interaction. They ended up honoring the discount. Also, they shut down ordering 1 min before 10:30pm - guess they didn't want more money as we wanted to order 1 more dish and they preemptively told the kitchen to close. Sure it's fine no big deal, it was a lot of food.

We came at the perfect time since a line formed after we got seated The tea was served in a lovely big pot too, it honestly felt like I was in China again. I'd been wanting to try some Xian specialities: particularly liangpi and paomo. My group shared two liangpi (the classic and the sesame, these were around 8-9 dollars each and you could probably eat one as a meal or share with someone as an appetizer/side), a biang biang noodle in Xian pork vinegar soup as well as a lamb paomo. Both liangpis which are cold chewy noodles were flavourful and had a great texture (I think I'd recommend classic if it's your first time!) What blew me away was the biang biang soup, the pork pieces were generous and the vinegarness of the soup was very unique. The paomo had vermicelli and lots of soaked bread pieces and lamb: much more gentle and lamb flavoured. Overall, portions were huge and the bill came out to around $55 for everything which was more than reasonable! Note that if your bill is under $30, they only take cash and if over, debit is an option but no credit. I'll definitely be back to this spot ‍

I shared the liang pi, biang biang noodles, and a lamb noodle soup. It was a lot of carbs but I think the flavours for each dish were quite different and made the experience very enjoyable. I definitely recommend getting the liang pi and biang biang noodles. The liang pi is perfect for the summer as it's served cold (it's also slightly spicy) with cucumbers. The biang biang noodles had a really delicious sauce and the texture of the noodles made it stand out. It's very wide and had a nice chew (this might become one of my favourite noodle dishes)! The restaurant has a lot of space and can accommodate larger groups as well as individual diners. Service is quick and the staff calls out the order to each other so it's a very lively environment.
