This is a long overdue review as we had our floors refinished five years ago. They helped us find a color that we liked.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were mostly happy with the finished floors, but it wasn't perfect. There were a small number of spots that had something bumpy embedded. In the closets, they were sloppy with the corners and didn't put as much care as the more visible parts of the house - it's true that people aren't studying the corners of closets, but we didn't love that. Its nice to know there are contractors out there that keep their word when they tell you they will do something which hasn't always been the case in previous experiences with old remodeling projects. This time I was looking to refinish my floors on the main level of my house which is about 1,200 square feet. Paul and his team did an amazing job on our home and we couldn't be happier with the finished product. He was so responsive and worked with us on the tight timeline we had to move into our new home. They are highly skilled in using the new sanders that don't seem to grind up floors the way the old ones did. After the floors were sanded, they patched some cracks and re-sanded. I feel very lucky to have had Great Hardwood Flooring do the work for refinishing my floors in our newly moved home, they look really good and we did a complete color change, from a dark brown to a light wood and now, it looks like a different house! Great Hardwood installed approximately 1000 sq feet of wood floors in our recently purchased home. It was not the cheapest bid, but the only one that addressed the severe dips and slopes in the sub-floor and the only one that recommended a moisture barrier and included line item expenses for the entire job. I used GHF to restore the hardwood floors in my first home and the quality of work they did then was top notch. When I decided to restore the original maple floors in my current home, I went right to them. The floors have a beautiful maple inlay and many areas needed repair. We bought an old house where some of the floors were okay but some were desperately in need of restoration and one room had particularly old carpeting. Paul gave us a very good price for both floors of our house and the stairs. The first day, his team sanded and patched all the required areas. This was overall an outstanding experience. We were in a bind and Great Hardwood Flooring was able to bail us out with exceptional service, knowledge and quality. We called Paul at GFH because we purchased luxury vinyl plank flooring through a discount flooring store and believed the salesmen, advertising, and on-line videos that installing it in our basement would be easy. It is not easy! After struggling for about 10 days, we called Mike and asked if their company could do the installation for us. On meeting, it was clear that GFH is a company that understands the flooring business from start to finish. By that I mean that Paul understands the materials, suppliers and costs as well as what's really needed to do a quality job of installing flooring. We also had them install brand new base boards and trim. Paul had some excellent recommendations on how to approach that in both a quality and cost-efficient manner. This company has a range of people that we found to be very knowledgeable, professional, and meticulous in what they did.
